Chapter 35: Terrifying but drunk

Enim took a seat right in front of a long table where other stools and customers were set.

From a gaze, she watched the view of the city through the ceiling-to-floor window.

She crossed her legs and tapped her foot gently beat by beat to the rhythm of the jazz music that was played at the bar.

She stretched her hand as she took a sip of her Long Island tea from its cup.

Her face was full of satisfaction as she moved with the rhythm of the jazz until she was interrupted by the sound of her phone call ringtone.

She took it from the table to see the caller ID was unknown.

With a little frown on her face, she answered the phone call.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Enim, this is Phoebe, I’m at the bar, where are you seated?"

Enim dropped her phone so she could survey around and once she noticed where she was.

She spoke into the phone.

"I’ve found you, I’m coming," she ended the call and then approached Phoebe.

"Let’s go," she whispered after she hugged her and then they walked back to where she came from.

"So about the voice message, were you able to find something about it?"

"About that Enim, I had a situation this week."

"What happened?"

"Nanny Britney accidentally poured water on my phone that’s why I had to buy a new phone. Thankfully I was able to retrieve information on my old phone except the number of the person I had asked to do the message."

"What?" Enim laid her back on the chair with a face full of displeasure.

"Well, thankfully I sent the voice message to you, and I could visit the person to know the progress," Phoebe assured.

"Hmm, okay, that seems good, I’ll look for someone and you would do yours, okay?" Enim said taking a sip of her iced tea while Phoebe ordered a drink and then, they changed their discussion.

In the middle of their conversation, their chuckle could be heard.

*

Enim got out of the taxi feeling tipsy, she carefully took her steps.

She couldn’t take the car to where she was heading so she asked the driver to take the car home and she would take a cab to the area.

Steady steps bit by bit, she walked backwards and forwards but then she maintained her steps not to fall.

When she got near the gate, she knocked as the cloud mumbled some thunders and then it began to rain.

Enim raised her head with a displeased expression and a pouty lip.

She spoke.

"Rain, why now?" She questioned childishly as a chuckle left her lips.

She grinned.

"You are always the same one to cause me hectic activities, you even changed my life," she raised her hands to cup a bit of the water in her.

" But you’re so wicked," she said in a fist as she threw the cupped water away.

" I can’t even believe you’ve given me death and life then you would give me days till my death again," she had a wide smile.

" Don’t you think you’re quite the gamer? Thank you so much!!" She laughed.

" Thank you for your piece of sh*t!!" She cried and then angrily knocked on the gate.

The security camera system turned in the direction to scan her and alert the family as she continued.

"I’m outside, let me enter," she yelled as she knocked with all her strength so they would hear despite the sounds of the mumbling cloud.

Unknown to her about the system that alerted the house, she thought everyone must have been asleep.

She stopped and then a pout from her lips, she leaned on the gate just to gently slide so she could hug her legs while the rain fell down her body.

She just had forty-one days left but she was still nowhere, how was she going to find the culprit?

Her anger vent as she promised herself, that if she was to find out the culprit then she wouldn’t just kill the person but make the person suffer.

Enim giggled taking a look at the cloud, it was so dark, outside Vixen’s estate, and she looked at the rain that seemed to mock her situation.

When she remembered the day she got killed, she fists her hand in anger as she leaned her head towards her knees, tears coming down her face.

She felt sorrowful in the condition.

She had never felt this mentally abused without an individual to do that job.

At the moment she felt like a loser.

She grunted as she raised her head, she raised her hands to clean the tears on her cheek even if the rain washed them out.

She couldn’t just give up that easily.

She stood and then once again gave a knock but just like last time, she believed it didn’t alert the rest, she was about to try again but then this time the door opened.

"Enim?" She heard Vixen call out to her under the umbrella, he stood in front of the door.

Still drunk, Enim raised her hand to wave at him excitedly.

"Vixen, you came," she looked down to notice she was completely wet and then once again raised her head to look at Vixen like she was caught in something bad.

" I’m so sorry, I came late, it was just that-" she clenched her stomach feeling an ugly reaction and then she hurriedly puked slimy indigestion on Vixen.

"Oh no," Vixen stated as he dropped his umbrella and then his men came around to support him.

They were about to place another umbrella on top of him but he spoke.

"Get a towel for her," he instructed as one of them nodded and then they headed towards the car to get a blanket.

Because of the puke, Vixen took off his shirt and then pulled Enim close to him just for her to embrace him, and then she began to shiver in cold.

His men once again came back took his dress took the towel and then wrapped Enim with it.

He swiftly carried her by the legs and then walked her towards the van he took towards the gate.

The heater was turned on as she rested her head on Vixen’s shoulder, her eyes were shut but she still mumbled as her teeth shivered because of the cold.

When they got to the house, his men at a drop of a hat placed an umbrella once again on top of his head as they walked up the stairs of the house.

When they got into the house the maids brought a bigger blanket.

Vixen gently helped her as he ensured to wrap the towel around her.

Then after some minutes, they arrived at the house.

"Why didn’t you come early?" Vixen stated as he looked down to daze at her.

"Can I hug you?" She mumbled like a child with pouty lips as Vixen chuckled, he released his arms so she could hug him wholeheartedly.

Her face filled with excitement like she was a child receiving a hug from her mother.

"Umm, I like this one," she stated.

"C’mon, let’s go to the bedroom, a cup of cocoa is on the way. You’ll take that," he said dotingly as he caressed her back.

"Vixen?"

"Hmm?"

"My birthday is just a few days to come, could you do a birthday celebration?"

"What kind of celebration?" Enim released the hug with a wide smile.

"I’m drunk right now but I still have the strength to stand." She paused suddenly forgetting what she was about to say.

" Oh yeah, what was I saying? For, for," she stuttered as she pointed her finger, she twitched her eyes trying to remember what she wanted to say.

"Oh yeah, I want a grand...party, I want to invite people, mother, and Addison, I want them to know I’m celebrating my birthday. I also want those small innocent children who are trying to survive without their parents who have gone away from their lives to come to the party. I know they would want to eat a lot from my party and enjoy the party."

"Do you mean children from the orphanage?"

"Yes, yes, that’s what I want. I want to see those happy faces of those children, why do you get me so much?"

"Though I wonder why you are trying to get me hurt and hurt my feelings," she added in a murmur as she tried to stand.

"Okay, you would have what you want, let’s go now. Where’s the cocoa?" He asked as he held her, one of the maids came in with a cup of cocoa.

"Now drink," Vixen calmly stated as Enim was given like a kid and a moment after the sip, she fell asleep in his arms.

Her head on his chest, her eyes closed, Vixen dazed at her serene look.

"Why did she drink so much?" Vixen questioned inwardly as he stared at her and after a while, he hauled her by the legs just to carry her into her room.

Seated on a gaming chair, a woman had her eyes concentrated on her system.

Gaming headphones, her hands were on the keyboard already winning the game, she just had this so close, and soon she was going to win extra points.

She excitedly adjusted herself on her seat as her gaming character walked towards its rival and just in a jiffy, she was defeating her opponent.

She had a small smile on her face, and her hands rapidly pressed the buttons, it was just a little while for her to gain extra points.

Just when she was about to make a strike on her enemy.

The computer turned off.

"What?" She jolted out just to shudder at the sight of a figure with the cable of her computer.

It was a mysterious woman with a silver mask on.

She furrowed her eyebrows but shuddered at the sudden intrusion.

"Who? Who are you?"

"What a good house you have," the woman complimented as the silver woman’s eyes surveyed the environment.

"How did you enter the house?"

"Is not about how I entered, I want to ask you something, you should be truthful in your answer."

"What?"

"For a thirty-year-old woman like you, you’ve been busy hiding yourself away from the world just because you’re a hacker. Aren’t you tired and just want to show the world your talent?"

The thirty-year-old hacker gamer stayed silent, but after a moment, a frown gently settled on her face.

"How do you know that about me?"

"You’ve become clever enough to protect yourself and your identity isn’t it?" The silver masked woman asked cheerfully.

"What are you trying-"

"Six million and any amount for you to change your status, are you willing to receive the amount?"

"What do you want?" The woman asked but then she sensed the silver-masked woman was serious with what she was saying.

"You have something of mine that was given to you by Phoebe Lane Marvel and I want it back. That’s

all and in return, you would have the money, so, do you want it or not?"

She asked with a wicked grin.
