Married to my nemesis-Chapter 261: You’ve Been Trapped
Mia stepped toward Britany, her hands trembling as she placed them on her shoulders. Fear was written all over her face, and she shook her head in denial.
"That can’t be possible," she muttered, almost to herself. "If they found out Jordan was working for me, everything is going to fall apart. I’m sure of it. There’s no way he would have turned me in. No way."
"Well, you have to believe it," Britany said, her tone casual but firm. "This is the reality, Mia. Why don’t you believe that your precious Jordan could turn on you?"
"No, no, no... that’s impossible. I know him. He wouldn’t do that."
"Well, you didn’t know him well enough," Britany replied, her eyes narrowing. "If you had, you’d know he’s an alcoholic, a smoker. If he wanted his cigarettes, he’d do anything to get them. Anything, Mia."
Mia’s face paled, her hand moving to her mouth in shock. "Oh my God," she whispered, unable to hold back her disbelief. "No, that can’t be possible."
She wanted to deny it, but the truth was starting to sink in. She knew Jordan well enough to recognize the kind of desperation that could drive him to make such a choice.
Her heart sank further. It wasn’t just about Vixen anymore. This was much worse.
Jordan had betrayed her, and the consequences were devastating. Vixen would find a way to tear her down, and Mia knew that.
"But... the school—" Mia stammered, still clinging to hope.
"The school found him smoking those cigarettes," Britany interrupted, her voice sharp. "And guess what? You were the one who brought him into the school. Enrolling him was your biggest mistake. It made everything easier, Mia. It made it real. You were too careless."
Mia shook her head furiously. "No, no! He knows the consequences. I warned him. I gave him clear instructions."
"Oh, Mia," Britany said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You think a few warnings will change anything? Your little boy failed you. Now, look where you are. The mess you’ve caused? Vixen won’t take this lightly. He won’t let you off easy. You’ll rot in here if you’re not careful."
Mia’s eyes widened, panic creeping into her chest. "What do you expect me to do? The media... they’ll think I’m a criminal. They’ll think I’m responsible for everything!"
Britany fell silent for a moment, then stood and moved closer to Mia. With a sly smile, she placed a hand on Mia’s shoulder, forcing their eyes to meet.
"You don’t need to rely on what you know is your defeat, Mia. Just like Vixen did to me, he’ll do the same to you. It was the same tactic, the same game. You thought you could beat him, but in the end, you only defeated yourself."
Mia recoiled, anger flashing in her eyes. "That can’t be true! I’m getting out of here. I won’t let him defeat me that easily." She spoke with newfound confidence, but Britany’s smirk remained unwavering.
"Okay, Mia," she said, her voice low and menacing. "I can’t wait to see how this plays out. But trust me, you’ve already lost."

In a large house, the maids hurriedly set the dining table as young Arthur exited his bedroom, eager for breakfast.
His aunt, Phoebe, had arrived, and Arthur was excited to meet his little cousin, Leah.
Arthur, rushing through the house, was momentarily stopped when Phebe caught his eye. "Hey, Arthur, be careful!" she warned, her tone filled with concern.
"Okay, grandma, I’ll be careful," Arthur responded, settling at the table and quickly beginning his meal.
Just as he was about to take another bite, a cheerful voice interrupted him.
"Cousin Arthur!"
Arthur froze, then turned around. His smile widened as he spotted little Leah, running toward him with excitement.
"Leah!" he exclaimed, jumping to his feet to greet her.
But when Leah spotted Phoebe, she stopped in her tracks and waved enthusiastically at her.
"Grandma Phebe!" Leah called out, before changing direction and heading toward her grandmother.
Phoebe crouched down to embrace her, pressing a kiss to Leah’s cheek. Leah pulled back, grinning widely.
"Grandma, I missed you so much!" she said, her voice full of joy.
Phebe smiled warmly, "Oh, I missed you too, Leah. I didn’t know I’d wouldn’t be the only one missing you. Arthur told me he missed you as well."
Leah’s eyes lit up. "Oh, then Arthur can come stay with us, so daddy won’t worry about me!" Phoebe suggested brightly from behind.
At that moment, another voice spoke from the doorway. Everyone turned to see Phoebe, entering the room in a vintage dress.
She chuckled, noticing all the attention was on her. "Really, aunt Phoebe, you don’t mind?" Arthur asked without hesitation, making his grandma eyes widen in surprise.
Phoebe pursed her lips in mock shock.
"Oh, so now you prefer aunt Phoebe over your own mother?"
Arthur stopped mid-bite, his face lighting up with excitement. He ran toward the new figure in the doorway.
"Mummy!" he shouted with joy.
Without a second thought, Abi, his mother, scooped him up and covered his face with kisses. Leah, curious, gently pulled away from Phebe to join them.
"Arthur, is this your mummy?" she asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Abi smiled at the little girl. "Who is this little princess?" she asked with interest.
"I’m Leah, daughter of Zayn and Phoebe," the little girl proudly introduced herself.
Abi’s eyes softened. "Ah, that explains it. You’re perfect just like your parents."
Abi smiled as she gently placed Arthur back on the ground. "Well, you’re certainly a charmer, Leah," she said, then looked back at Phoebe. "I see Arthur has had good company while he’s been here."
Phoebe nodded, her smile growing. "Yes, it’s good to see Arthur has had someone to keep him company, especially with all that’s been going on."
Phebe laughed. "It seems the children have stolen the spotlight. We won’t even get a chance to speak with our guest now!" she joked, turning to Abi with a grin.
Abi laughed, clearly content to see her family enjoying each other’s company. "No worries, Phoebe," she replied. "It’s nice to have a bit of fun with the kids."
