Married to my nemesis-Chapter 250: A friend
As soon as Vixen finished her sentence, the door of the room swung open, prompting both of them to shift their attention towards it. They noticed another man entering, clad in a police uniform, identifying him as one of the officers.
With a focused expression etched across his face, his eyes fixed on the two individuals, he offered a subtle bow as a form of greeting.
Vixen observed him with a furrowed brow and then listened as the man announced, "Sir Vixen, there is someone awaiting your presence," the officer relayed.
Vixen leisurely shifted his gaze toward the sheriff, observing him as he focused intently on the monitor situated on his desk.
After a moment, the sheriff commented, "It appears she arrived sooner than we anticipated." His eyes remained fixed on the screen for a while longer before he eventually turned his attention to Vixen, catching sight of the icy expression on his face.
"I am aware that you have the expertise to handle this situation, but Mr. Vixen, I respectfully ask that you act with the utmost kindness. It is imperative that she remains unaware of the outcomes," the sheriff advised cautiously, yet his words were brief.
He observed Vixen rise from his chair, a sly grin appearing on Vixen’s face.
"I hope so," Vixen remarked nonchalantly, as he made his way toward the room’s exit.
The policeman approached Vixen, pulling handcuffs from his pocket. He lowered his head to fasten the cuffs around the outstretched hand reaching toward him.
Vixen waited patiently before being led to the visitation room. A police officer accompanied him through the corridors, and upon reaching the room, the officer unlocked and removed the handcuffs from Vixen.

Vixen glanced through the seats, his eyes watching the other detainers who were seated on their seats talking to their visitor.
There were column walls that separated each seat, his eyes dreading, he took a monstrous step not until he found his seat, a smirk on his face and then he pulled his seat watching the fair-skinned woman seated at the visitor seat.
She shifted in her seat, her legs crossed, casting a sly smile at Vixen from the corner of her lips. The smug expression she wore annoyed Vixen, prompting him to step forward and grab the telephone hanging on the wall to talk to her.
"I wasn’t anticipating any intriguing visitors in the near future," Vixen remarked with a chilly, jesting tone.
Observing Mia’s reaction, he saw her reach for the telephone beside her and begin speaking into it.
"I had to witness it firsthand; I never imagined this could be real. The infamous Vixen Joe, locked up," Mia remarked with composure. Vixen, however, responded with a scoff followed by a chuckle.
"It’s quite fascinating to see you seated across the jail room. Watching you join me here would be quite the spectacle. You never know, the future might hold some unexpected surprises," Vixen responded.
He noticed a frown forming on Mia’s face, but she quickly blinked it away, dismissing the notion as she assumed Vixen was merely attempting to intimidate her.
"I stopped by to check on you, Vixen, because I was worried. Does that give you a reason to be upset? Besides, judging by your expression, it’s astonishing that after just two days in jail, you appear as though you’ve been here for a century."
"Are you mocking me?"
"Not at all. I’m merely expressing my thoughts and sharing what I genuinely believe based on what I see. I can imagine you’re eager to escape this confinement."
"To be specific, it’s rather remarkable here," Vixen remarked, then paused, fixing his intense gaze on Mia while speaking coolly into the phone. "I’ve managed to make a few good friends here." His tone was chilling and menacing, yet he noticed Mia seemed unfazed by his words.
"Hmm," Mia mused with a slight nod. "I wonder who would have dared to befriend Vixen Joe."
"You might call it an old enemy of mine," Vixen replied nonchalantly, observing Mia’s frown as she appeared to take his words to heart.
"Wh-what friend are you referring to?" she asked, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
Vixen, however, let out a soft laugh.
He adjusted his position, leaning forward towards the glass partition. With the phone pressed to his ear and his elbows resting on the small table against the wall, he prepared to respond.
"Are you hesitant to find out which friends are present here? Believe me, I’ve discovered some truly dependable friends in this place."
"I don’t buy it. The IMF stepping in means you must have faced severe bullying here. No one will let you off easy," Mia quickly remarked, but Vixen merely lifted an eyebrow in response.
"How can you be certain about the IMF’s involvement?" Vixen inquired, eyeing her with suspicion.
However, he observed her scoff in disbelief before she let out a chuckle.
"Are you attempting to question me now? After conducting my research, I arrived here and discovered that this situation was not solely within federal jurisdiction. I was curious to learn who had been responsible for reprimanding you."
"Upon reflection, the individual had indeed disciplined me justly. I sincerely hope you revisit your research, as the forthcoming days could prove quite overwhelming for you."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Uh, it’s nothing significant. Just a gentle caution—you never know what might arise while I am incarcerated. Moreover, my absence may significantly impact you." Vixen replied, his eyes fixed on her with a mischievous expression.
"I will be present at your hearing. I wanted to inform you of this before you continue with more nonsense."
"Well, feel free to join. It looks like you are more eager to see me end up in jail."
"You used to be a friend to my closest friend. I am only going to that event because of the affection I have for my friend."
"Which friend are you talking about?"
"Prudence of course, before you decided to betray her after her death like she didn’t matter."
Vixen clenched his jaw, a small raise at the corner of his lips, he clicked his tongue. He lowered his head for a while really feeling the urge to pour his boiling anger at Mia but then he knew he had to maintain it no matter how hurtful and painful it was for him.
Then after a while, he raised his head to stare at her, his eyes looking dreadful; "Be my guest then. I’ll love to see you at the party," Vixen spoke to her and then he stood up the seat, about to leave but then he stopped the moment he heard Mia speak.
"Abi, I haven’t seen her anywhere since you’ve been in jail. Shouldn’t you be happy that I came here just to see you?" Her words stung Vixen to the heart, and then just in fury, it stunned and startled everyone in the room as Vixen walked towards his seat and then he slammed his hands on the table.
It jolted Mia in shock, she didn’t expect Vixen to get angry but then she could only feel goosebumps watching him stare into her eyes then he spoke icy; "Now I’m going to request one thing from you. You wouldn’t interfere with anything that has to do with Abi, you know you’ve done it before, and I spared you. Trust me this time I’m not going to spare you. So, my business is my business, mind your own business," Vixen said with gritted teeth.
Then at the next moment, he walked away leaving Mia bewildered, she reached for her chest feeling she was literally having a pondering heart like she’d seen the devil a moment.
Her thoughts unable to comprehend what had just happened, she looked at the other room through the glass while other people had glances on Mia since their attention was caught after what Vixen had done.
Mia stayed on her seat, speechless and bewildered, she was unable to think of something to say but then at the next moment, Mia’s lips spread from shock and then she released a chuckle.
"You just dared me, Vixen. You just dared me," she said to herself then she gritted her teeth, clenching her jaw.
"You just have to watch who wins the game at the end," Mia murmured, she stood up her seat and then escorted the premises.
Just as she got out of the jail center, she clicked her heels walking towards the parking lot, her phone raised, she was making a phone call before she swiftly entered the car.
"Ma’am, where are we heading next?" The driver ignorantly questioned, unaware of Mia’s anger just from him to jolt from his seat.
"To hell with your useless mouth!" Mia yelled at him in fury.
