Chapter 192: Lose

Abi smiled as she watched the man slowly change his expression back to a normal gaze.

She behaved like she had suspected it was true.

"So you actually came here for that event?" She stated.

" Hmm, " the man stated as hw nodded a bit.

Abi looked at him with curious eyes and then she grew closer to him.

" To be true I came for the auction but could I ask, about the auction, what is the best item you’ll get? "

She whispered as the man gave her a shooting gaze for a while and then he smiled.

Abi nearly cursed his smiled that appeared on his face than the usual, was he suspecting her or something?

" I just want to know, actually, my partner promised to make me do the bidding this time and I really don’t want to flunk the use of his money. I want something that will make him realize my choice is better than his. So what do you think will appreciate his money and place a smile on his smile? " she questioned but her ears were desperate for answers.

Could it be possible the device will be among the treasures auctions.

The man clicked his tongue as he adjusted himself on his chair as he grew closer to Abi’s ear.

"Well from what I’ve heard if you want to place a delight on his face then buy a painting, something that will glorify the house, but trust me, you may be surprised by what secret the painting might bring to the house."

Abi looked at him with suspicious eyes, what did the secrets that have to do with the painting mean?

She placed a desperate ear on as she placed her face closer to him.

" When you mean the painting has secrets, what do you mean by that? Is there some happiness hidden it? "

The man gently chuckled.

" Watch and see, but you must know such an item like that will cause a lot so I think buying the item might seem a wastage to him but when he sees what the item has, it will make him appreciate you the more. I heard that according to the rumors," Abi placed a smile on, of course there was no need for informing her crew after all they must have received the information.

She retracted a bit with a smile.

If he says so then it may be true, after all he was one of the billionaires that sat in the event.

People will try there best to recognize his presence since the event could bring an opportunity for them to gain such an investment but at the same time.

The sponsors complicated the matters since they wouldn’t be able to recognize who they spoke to.

She had a smile, she was sure he would have received such information after all he wouldn’t waste his valuable time coming for such an event if not because it has something that caused his time and money.

"Oh my, you’re really keeping me in a suspense there. I just hope he loves what he sees," Abi responded in a smile.

After the awards commenced and then the events took a turn for an end, the guest began to disperse slowly but some stayed, she looked around wondering where Matthew was.

Walking up to her bed, she took her phone and then gave a call.

For a while she anticipated his answer but then the call ended without an answer.

She growled as her eyes surveyed the environment.

Where must he be at the moment?

She held her purse and then walked towards the other room she noticed some of the men heading to, once she got nearer, she couldn’t help but gulp.

She wasn’t sure if her men were able to gain into the place, she’d completely forgotten.

As she walked closer, she felt an arm entangle hers, she groaned and then turned in direction.

"Where have you been, do you know how scared i was?" She scolded him as they walked closer but then Matthew placed a smile on as they walked closer.

"I had to find a way for us to enter, I’m sorry if you’re so worried. So—" they took a stop once they were in front of the bouncer.

A severe look from the men, obviously they were scanning them through the glasses they were wearing.

Abi felt a bit anxious as she tightened the hold on Matthew’s hand.

He smiled obviously sure she was scared about their entry and then he placed his hand on her, gently turning to her he gave her a smile, just then the bouncer was done verifying her.

He simply held the knob of the door and then turned it introducing them into the new avenue.

Abi turned to Matthew obviously wanting an explanation but then she understood the moment he was silent, that meant he found his way and here she was worried about what was going to happen to her.

They entered the room and just at first gaze, it was like a museum with different dispendious equipment in it’s finest glass covering.

An approach, them made a stare as they carefully analyzed the equipment.

Antique items, contemporary tools or equipment, all displayed for their utility.

As Abi held her arm close to Matthew,he turned his gaze to her.

"I was informed there was going to be a painting at sale, do you think that’s the same instrument that will contain the device?" Matthew leaned in to her hear her whisper.

He was in thoughts for a while but then he didn’t say a word for a moment.

When he lowered his head once again to speak to her, he was tactical.

"I think is best if we go around. I don’t know about the paintings but we can try to gain information."

"What about the team?" Abi questioned and then he nodded.

"Okay then," Abi said and then she released her hand from Matthew.

They went their separate ways as Matthew headed to other places at the auditorium, after all there was still time to take a look at the pieces before the auction started.

Abi looked at every item as she surveyed it for a while allowing her team to scan through.

"Ma’am, from our detects, it seems there is a security measure that’s taken around the items. It’ll be difficult for us to analyze the piece to see if the device is there."

Abi looked at the item obviously saddened by their reports but then she placed a small smile on.

She never expected they would place encrypted data device on so they could penetrate the information.

It was clear, they all knew someone would try to gain information about the device.

"Okay then," she said and then she was about to turn when she jerked about to touch the glass but then she felt an embrace on her waist and then he pulled her closer, she gasped a bit as she raised her head to take a look at him, he was close.

She pursued her lips.

"You know touching the surface, it’ll create an alert," he said curtly as he gave her a deep stare.

This time his mask was off and it made it easy for her to see him in full view.

She placed her hand on his shoulder and then gently adjusted herself so she could stand.

"Oh," a small word left her lips as she looked at him with a smile.

"Thank you then," she added.

"Why are you head?" He questioned curtly as Abi placed a frown on her face.

"What do you mean by that? I came here just like everyone else came here to do," she retaliated as she watched his expression for a while, it seems his gaze was trying to dig out something from her soul.

Maybe the truth.

"Oh really," he pocketed his hands and then walked a bit close to her.

"And what item are you going to bid?"

Abi stopped herself from making a growl in frustration z seriously he was questioning her?

Instead she made a small smile as she took steps towards him, her head raised so she could stare into his eyes and then she raised hee hand so she could touch his chin while he lowered his head.

"I can to make a bidding on this item. I heard it’s quite expensive so is it on the list?" She said with a seductive smile and then she chuckled.

Vixen darted at her with a cold aura for a while and then raised his hand to hold her hand.

"Why does it feels like you’re up to no good," he said as he took hold of her hand and then slowly lowered it.

Abi gulped her saliva a bit and then she feigned a smile.

"What are you trying to say? I’m definitely up to no good, besides, you don’t know how much power a woman can have so I advise you. You should be scared about everything you have. You don’t know if you’re going to lose it to a woman. "
