Married to my nemesis-Chapter 144: Mummy
The kid snorted hearing his say though he leaned towards him to take the watch off him and take the necklace.
Just as he reached for his hand, someone gripped him tightly on the wrist.
He growled turning around to see who had the audacity to hold him but then he was held on the collar tightly.
A sharp feminine dark aura was shot at him as she held his collar deriving every single breath he kept.
The young boy tried to hold her hand but then she gave him a slap.
His other colleagues looked shocked about to protect their leader they raised their hands.
The woman threw the one she held on the collar to the ground and the two other boys, she gripped them by the arm turning it to the back.
They groaned in pain.
"As your mother never told you not to take what is yours?"
"Ahh, Ma’am," the groaned in pain but she held unto their arms tighter making them growl in pain.
"Now I want you to apologize to that boy for what you’ve done or else—" the woman said as she released the boys.
Both the boys and their leader turned to Arthur who was stunned by what happened his look was unexpressed.
"We’re sorry for trying to take your watch," they said as they lowered their heads with an apologetic look.
Arthur didn’t say a thing, he couldn’t say, speechless as he watched the boys walk away and then the woman that helped him crouched to his level.
"What happened? Are you frightened by what happened? Don’t worry those boys are not going to hurt you again, okay?"
Arthur still stayed speechless.
The woman raised her hand to touch the cheek of the guy who stayed speechless with pursued lips.
"Where’s your mother, can I take you to her?"
The woman had a concerned look on her face.
"Mum-mummy?" He stammered staring at her, he was dazzled.
"Okay then, can we go around to look for your mommy? You can point to your mother once you see her," Arthur fluttered his eyelashes.
" Can you tell me your name—"
" Arthur, " the two turned around just to see Vixen approach them.
" Daddy, " Arthur called though he didn’t run to him.
Just as Vixen heard Arthur call out to him, he saw him with someone, as he got nearer, he could see the shade of someone behind him.
Once he walked nearer to see who was the woman, he stopped on his feet speechless by the appearance of the woman.
From her brown hazel eyes, to her thin nose, her plump lips, a bit of piercing on her ear and a nose piercing. Her pale skin which looked like she had practically made it a routine to take care of glimmered with a blossoming feature making her look attractive.
The fact that the woman looked surreal didn’t dazzle him but what made him stop on his tongue like he saw a ghost was that the woman in front of his looked a lot like someone he knew.
His eyes carefully landed on the woman probably boring into her skin showing a clear irritation from the woman.
The woman in front of his looked a lot like Prudence.
The appearance of the woman reminded him he stayed stunned in the same position not until he felt Arthur tugged his trouser.
His gaze lowered seeing Arthur stretched his hand asking for the ice cream in his hand which was already melting.
"Oh," Vixen growled as he lowered the ice cream cone.
Arthur immediately took the ice cream as the woman chuckled seeing his childish behaviour, she stared at him like he was her own child when she remembered that she had to speak with his father.
She once again raised her head giving Vixen a sharp look.
"Why did you leave your son out like that? Do you know what nearly happened to him?" She was about to scold him when Arthur tugged her dress, she lowered her head as Arthur had a calm look.
"Ma’am, Daddy isn’t responsible for it. He asked me to go stay under the shade," he said as he pointed at the place Vixen asked him to stay.
"Oh," the woman said in realization.
"Well you should have taken him instead," Arthur didn’t say a word as he turned his head to see what was his father’s reaction.
His father didn’t say a thing.
Arthur was shocked he licked on the ice cream like he was watching a movie.
The two of them stared at each other like they had a staring contest.
"Mummy," Arthur called out to the woman as Vixen had a stun look.
Did he just hear his son call someone else his mother?
He was about to say something when Arthur hugged the woman.
"Thank you, Mummy for saving me."
Arthur said with a cheerful voice.
Vixen was about to hold unto Arthur’s arm to retract him when Arthur hugged the woman tighter like he was deriving his life from the woman.
"Daddy, please I don’t want to go away from her," Arthur said.
The woman crouched to his level as she pattered him on his cheek.
"Kid, where’s your mother, all I’m seeing is your father. Can you direct me to where your mother is so I could complain your father’s attitude to her."
Arthur’s glimmering eyes turned dull as he lowered his head.
"What happened Kid?" The woman asked with concern.
"Can I get a hug?" Arthur said in a calm tone as the woman looked stunned a bit, she formed her lips into a ’oh’ shape but then she hugged him.
"Are you okay now?" She said as she pattered his back.
Arthur placed his head nicely on her shoulder cuddling his head in hers.
"Can you tell me? Where’s your mummy?"
"You are my Mummy," Arthur stammered as the woman stopped.
How could he called his mother when she knew nothing about him.
She didn’t stop pattering him as she caressed his head.
Vixen stood their shocked till he discovered that the ice cream in his hand had melted.
"Mummy, I’ll like to go pee," Arthur said.
The woman revived her head to see him.
"Okay, you can follow me to go use the toilet," she raised her head to see Vixen who came out of his shocked when he recognized her gaze was on him.
"Can I take him to the toilet?" She asked in a soft tone.
Vixen nodded and before he could have the chance to say another word, the woman carried Arthur in her arms asking around for the available restroom around.
Vixen threw his ice cream to the ground dazzled and stunned by his reaction, why didn’t he say a word.
He knew that the woman who he had discovered looked a lot like Prudence then why didn’t he say a thing?
Maybe it was because of the closeness he had towards the woman, that was the first time he had seen Arthur grow close any other woman other than his grandma’s.
But he was growing closer to a woman he met like just a few minutes to the fact he was calling her his mother.
He knew he had to speak to the woman once she came back.
After a while, the woman came out, Vixen was already in his car when she looked around for Vixen.
When Vixen saw the sight of the woman, he turned on the car and then drove nearer to her parking in front of her.
She startled thinking she was going to be robbed but then he lowered his window just to see that the woman had Arthur in her arms and it seems his little boy fell asleep in his arms.
"Arthur—" Vixen was about to speak pointing out to the boy.
"He said he wanted me to carry him in his arms, but then I didn’t expect that he was going to fall asleep in my arms."
Vixen was puzzled to say a word.
"You can place him on the other seat."
"Okay," the woman said as she turned around placing the boy gently on the seat of the car.
Just when she was about to let go of the boy, he held unto her hand.
The woman raised her head to Vixen asking for help from eyesight.
Vixen held unto his hand and then gently removed his hand from her arm.
Arthur grumbled in displeasure but before Vixen was about to approach Arthur so he could sit properly, the woman placed her hand on his cheeks.
"Hush now," she said in a calm tone and just right in front of him he watched his son’s frown turn into a calm look.
"I think he’s a fast sleeper," the woman commented as Vixen nodded. After a while the woman finally bid her goodbye leaving Vixen unable to question her what was on his mind.
He watched the woman leave turning his gaze to Arthur.
He slept peacefully.
