Married to my nemesis-Chapter 137: Part of joy

" This is so amazing," I said my cheeks boiling out of excitement, I was flushed by everything.

Vixen leaned towards me to whisper into my ear.

"I knew you would like this so I had to get something special for you," he said softly as I turned to him to smile at him.

"Thank you so much," I said.

I couldn’t be less grateful for everything he had done.

Vixen placed a hand on my cheek as he caressed it with his thumb, the smile still on my face.

"That’s not the end of my surprise, c’mon, we still have a lot you have to see," he said in a hoarse tone after making sure to finish the food in his mouth.

We got done with the dinner and then he asked me to remove my feet from my sandals.

Just as I did so, he held my hand leaving the room as we walked towards the corner of the room where a glass door was, right beside the ceiling-to-floor window.

When we opened it, there was a fresh breeze that surveyed the environment, Vixen held my hand as we walked on the sand of the beach.

A chuckle left my lips, I turned to look at Vixen.

I couldn’t be any less glad for this.

" We have to run towards the water, okay, " I heard his voice as I turned to him with a disappointed look.

Now he was going to turn this into a competition?

Well, I couldn’t deny his offer.

A small smile flashed by after considering this.

" Okay, then. "

" One, two three, " I said but before I finished the word three, I was already on my feet rushing towards the water body.

Vixen was still behind me, I turned around with a chuckle as Vixen wasn’t up close to me, I was about to reach towards the wave of the water when my senses began to blur.

I began to feel a bit dizzy and without a second left, I felt my whole body lost a lot of energy as I collapsed.

My entire system felt weak all of a sudden, my eyes couldn’t reflect anything any longer, they became leaner by the second, and I couldn’t even see a trace of Vixen around.

My voice turned lame, it felt like I was about to become dumb, and so was my earing.

Everything just felt strange and—

Was I going to die, here?

I couldn’t remember everything that happened clearly but from what I could recall was Vixen’s worried expression as he reached for me.

Once again when I opened my eyes, I saw a few men and two nurses rushing towards the emergency room.

Among the men one of their gazes made me worry and feel terrified like it was predicted already, I was going to die.

My heart only pumped faster seeing Vixen’s expression which was full of concern and fear.

He held onto my hand rushing along with the men as the doctor treated me.

"Vixen," I tried to say but it came as a whisper seeing the nurses rush me.

What was going on? Was I dying now?

They entered the emergency room and then the door closed leaving Vixen outside.

A moment, I was awake feeling weak and paralyzed on the stretcher, and the next moment, I felt the sting of the needle that was injected into my body pumping a dosage into my system, it didn’t take me long to feel consumed by the effect, I began to feel dizzy. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

I had so many questions before my eyes went shut, was I going away this time?

The final moment I said goodbye to the world once and for all, my lips trembled, it took me a while to finally let go knowing there was a light from a lamp that was reflected on me.

That was all I could remember as I slowly drifted away, sleeping into the unknown and finally setting my eyes away from everything.

What was going to happen next?

Moments after everything, my eyes opened and then I expected to see Eva and probably God tell me this was the end of my journey but when I opened my eyes.

It was met with Vixen’s gaze when he noticed that I was awake, excitement knew no bounds from his expression.

He sat on the bed as he reached for my hand, he caressed it using his other hand to gently caress my cheeks.

"You’re awake, Enim," he said with sounds of joy in his voice he lowered his head to place a kiss on my forehead.

"I’m so happy you’re awake."

"What happened?" I struggled to question as he raised his head to see me making him so close to me that a smile appeared on his face.

"Today, I received the happiest news of my life," he raised my hand so he could place a kiss on the back of my hand.

He gently caressed my hand again.

"The happiest news, Enim."

"What are you talking about?"

"The doctor explained what happened was as a result of being fragile and tired, actually it was a symptom."

What is he saying?

"What are you talking about, Vixen?" I questioned in a weak tone as he explained further.

"The doctor took tests on you, and from the rest, they discovered you were perfectly fine but among the tests, they made you take a pregnancy test that was how they uncovered that you were positively pregnant, Enim. You’re pregnant, and we’re going to have a baby."

He said once again as he kissed my hand and then my forehead.

"What?" I said stunned and speechless.

Wasn’t I supposed to die?

Then what was with this happy news?

What was happening?

I’m happy besides, I couldn’t believe it.

I reached for my stomach bewildered and then I burst into tears of happiness.

A child is living in my womb.

Oh my God.

I rubbed my belly like it was a dream I wished not to wake up from, I may not be Prudence at the moment but—

But this is the best dream I’ve ever had, I just hope to yank from this dream and discover that I am dead.

How could they deal with me like this?

I felt Vixen’s hand on my hand slowly entangling his fingers as my gaze changed to his, a happy smile on my face.

"I’m pregnant, Vixen," I said with joy, he nodded.

Oh my, it was just two months and here I am with the most happy news of my life.

What was this?

A reality show with some twist in it?

Just when we were feeling caught in the moment, our joy was interrupted by the sound of the door opening in haste, I turned to see who it was, and Ana and Phebe stood in front of the door.

Their expression looked frozen when they sighted us.

Examining the environment to see if they entered the right room.

"Mother," I said with a sparkle in my tone as Ana and Phebe walked towards me.

They had happy smiles on their faces.

"Oh my dear," they placed a kiss on my head.

"Is this real?" Phebe questioned as she sat on the seat that was made for her when Vixen stood up.

"I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the news from Phebe, we were both having a time out at the spa when Vixen called to tell us this exciting news. Trust me I nearly ran out of energy from rejoicing right from the moment I heard this news, my daughter is pregnant, " she said as she reached once again for my forehead kissing me while I nodded.

" I’m just so excited, double news for the family, we’re both going to have a wonderful ceremony tomorrow and at the same time we get to welcome the new child into the house, " Phebe commented.

I know right?

The two continued with their talks as my gaze focused on Vixen who stayed at the side as he watched his mother talk about the plans for us right after the wedding.

When he saw my gaze was on him, he folded his arms with a smile on his face, I returned the same gesture.

This was the loveliest thing I’ve ever had.

Really.

The next morning...

I sat on the dressing chair in front of the mirror getting my makeup done.

It was D-Day, the time I finally got to bond everything, I got to be with Vixen as his recognized married wife to the entire world.

A smile formed on my lips as the veil of my wedding gown was placed on my head, I held to the hands of the dresser as I stared at myself.

Mom and Phebe entered the door, I had a smile on my lips turning around.

"Oh see how beautiful my daughter looks," Ana commented as she walked towards me.

She placed her hand on my head and gently placed her chin on my head as we stared at ourselves in the mirror.

"Can you see how you look? Beautiful, wonderful, adorable, and blossoming, I know there’s no one else who Vixen’s eye might be trapped. Just you only my dear."

"I know right, my son wouldn’t be able to look at another person’s eye when your gaze can capture him. Just your eyes can’t set him away. And I’m so glad we get to have this joyous moment."

"Perhaps I could also be a part of this joyous moment?" I heard a mild voice catching everyone’s gaze.

It was Laurence who stayed in front of the door.

I had a wide smile on my face.

"Laurence," I said as I got up from the chair walking towards her, when I was an inch in front of her, I stopped.

We both stared at each other with unweaving feelings, things that couldn’t be explained with the eye.

"I had to tell them everything, I couldn’t keep it away from them," she reached for my cheek and caressed it, I could see the urge she had to cry.

"Wh-what is she doing here?" Anna questioned as she came forward.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Ana and Laurence must still be having a conflict after what happened.

"I came to apologize, Ana. I came to say I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done," Laurence said having her hands clasped she turned to Ana with pleaded eyes.

"Please will you forgive Mom for what had happened? " another voice echoed, just for me to check behind, my gaze met with Phoebe’s gaze.

She was with Zayn.
