Chapter 850: Chapter 850: Taking Care of Him After Drinking

Zhou Yixiu didn’t want to leave a bad impression on the Su Family, so he smiled and said to Xu Qingyang, "It’s rare to see Mrs. Qi, I just exchanged a few words with her."

Xu Qingyang listened and said to Ji Yunhuan, "I was just thinking of going to Qi Garden, let’s go together!"

He calmly opened the car door, let Ji Yunhuan in, and after glancing at Zhou Yixiu, Ji Yunhuan followed and got into the car.

Although Xu Qingyang didn’t say it, Ji Yunhuan could feel that Xu Qingyang was deliberately helping her. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

The car quickly drove away from the Su Family residence. Ji Yunhuan looked at Xu Qingyang, feeling very grateful, "Thank you."

If it wasn’t for Xu Qingyang, she didn’t know how long she’d have to deal with that scoundrel Zhou Yixiu.

"You’re welcome." Xu Qingyang had come downstairs after seeing Zhou Yixiu pestering Ji Yunhuan, "I promised Qi Cheng to help take care of you. It’s just something I did in passing, you don’t need to think much of it."

"What kind of relationship do you have with Qi Cheng?" Ji Yunhuan was well aware that sitting here was Xu Qingyang, not the deceased Su Molang.

Xu Qingyang explained, "Qi Cheng and A’Liang are good friends, and A’Liang is my brother. Brothers always have some similarities, right? Besides, even though I am Xu Qingyang, in everyone’s eyes, I am still a stand-in for Su Molang."

He spoke calmly, and Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but take a few more glances at him.

Even now, Xu Qingyang was still using Su Molang’s identity.

Living in this world as a substitute for someone else must be one of the saddest things.

At such a moment, Ji Yunhuan couldn’t find the appropriate words to comfort him, so she said nothing.

When they arrived at Qi Garden, Ji Yunhuan got out of the car holding Ruirui, and Xu Qingyang got out too. But knowing that Ji Yunhuan wasn’t very fond of him, and wanting to keep some distance, he wandered around on his own.

During the time he first came here, he lived for many days under Su Molang’s identity, so he was very familiar with the place.

Seeing him treat it like his own home, Ji Yunhuan didn’t interfere and went inside holding Ruirui.

Once inside, Ji Yunhuan tiredly sat on the sofa, recalling Zhou Yixiu’s words.

Although she stayed calm in front of Zhou Yixiu, it was still the same as before—just thinking of Zhou Yixiu made her extremely uneasy.

From Zhou Yixiu’s words, she could feel his intense hatred for Qi Cheng. Qi Cheng caused Zhou Yixiu to lose the opportunity he always dreamed of, so Zhou Yixiu’s hatred for Qi Cheng was deep-rooted.

Before, Zhou Yixiu was cautious about his identity and image, and also afraid of his grandfather, but now, there’s no longer a need for such concerns. Ji Yunhuan truly worried about what mad actions he might take against Qi Cheng.

Xu Qingyang left after wandering around Qi Garden for a while. The sky had completely darkened, and Ji Yunhuan stood at the window, drinking coffee. Soon, she saw a car driving through Qi Garden’s main gate.

The car circled once before stopping at the entrance. The driver got out first, opened the car door, and Qi Cheng stepped out.

From the front seat, Assistant Gao quickly walked over to accompany Qi Cheng, asking, "Sir, are you alright?"

Just looking at him, it seemed like he’d been drinking.

Ji Yunhuan set down her coffee as Qi Cheng walked in.

Having had some drinks, he looked a bit inebriated, but not too drunk. When out with Zhou Jinlian, he restrained himself.

Zhou Jinlian and Zhou Yixiu are brothers, and Qi Cheng wasn’t naïve enough to think Zhou Jinlian was a good person. So he held back to avoid giving others a chance, unsure of how he might end up if he didn’t.

Qi Cheng sat down on the sofa and tugged at his tie. The female housekeeper had already come over, showing concern, "Sir, welcome back."

Ji Yunhuan approached, looking at Qi Cheng, "You’ve been drinking?"

"Just a little." Qi Cheng lifted his head to look at Ji Yunhuan and said to Assistant Gao, "Assistant Gao, you can go back now."

"Yes, I’ll come back to pick you up tomorrow." Assistant Gao knew that as long as Ji Yunhuan was there, he wasn’t needed.

"Shall I help you to your room?" She was feeling quite sorry for him, knowing that he accompanied her out in the afternoon and then had to go socialize in the evening.

"Alright." Qi Cheng stood up, not allowing the servants to follow, only letting Ji Yunhuan accompany him as they entered the elevator.

In the elevator, he stood beside her, gazing at her face.

Ji Yunhuan’s face was full of worry for Qi Cheng. Before, his workload wasn’t this heavy, but recently he had been getting busier.

She wished she could become a part of his body, to share his burdens, to strive on his behalf.

"Drinking is bad for your stomach; you should drink less." Ji Yunhuan advised, not wanting him to harm his body.

"I know." Qi Cheng came closer, pressing her into the corner of the elevator, seemingly finding some reassurance in doing so.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him in confusion as he held her tightly in his arms, the elevator door having already opened, yet he refused to let go.

"The elevator’s here."

"I just want to stay like this for a while." He tightened his embrace around Ji Yunhuan. No matter how tired he was at work, he would forget it, as he knew his mission was to protect those he wanted to protect. But in her presence, he felt utterly exhausted, the fatigue engulfing him.

Holding her close, it seemed that staying in her arms could ease his weariness and gradually restore his strength.

Yangyang walked by the elevator hand in hand with Ruirui, their eyes widening at the sight.

"What are you doing?" It was Ruirui who asked, his speech still a bit unclear, adorably soft.

Hearing Ruirui’s voice, Ji Yunhuan finally let go of Qi Cheng’s hand, "Alright, let go."

Being seen by their son made her feel quite embarrassed.

Qi Cheng released Ji Yunhuan, but she didn’t leave him to tend to their son, knowing well that Qi Cheng was drunk.

She helped Qi Cheng out of the elevator and said to the two children, "Daddy’s drunk, I’m taking care of him."

Yangyang supportively walked over to help with Qi Cheng. Although Ruirui wanted to help, he was too short.

"I’m fine." Seeing Yangyang come to help him, Qi Cheng smiled.

Even though he drank, he truly wasn’t drunk. Even if he usually seemed indifferent to the children, being thought of like this by his son made him very happy.

After hearing Qi Cheng’s words, Yangyang still insisted on escorting him to his and Ji Yunhuan’s bedroom.

Qi Cheng sat down on the sofa, and Ji Yunhuan said to Yangyang, "I’ll take care of Daddy, you two go to sleep!"

"Okay."

Although Ruirui was a bit of a rascal, he wasn’t too fond of arguing with someone who was drunk, so he obediently followed Yangyang out.
