Chapter 773: Chapter 773: If Only We Had a Daughter_1

Qi Cheng dampened the mood by saying, "I just want to have a daughter."

Ji Yunhuan’s enthusiasm was doused like being hit with a bucket of cold water. She replied speechlessly, "You call that a bargain?"

"If you don’t want a daughter and prefer to repay in another way, I have no objections either," Qi Cheng changed his stance.

Even though he said that, Ji Yunhuan still couldn’t cheer up, "I feel like you’re going to come up with something even more twisted."

"Considering how well you know me, I’m going to ’praise’ you well tonight!" He finished applying the ointment for her and sat up, looking at her with a sparkle in his eyes that made Ji Yunhuan pinch him.

"The kids are still here. Can’t you think of something positive for once?"

"I haven’t even said anything! Who’s really the one not thinking positively?"

"Then don’t say anything!"

Although Qi Cheng had told her not to meddle in things concerning Qi Mo, Ji Yunhuan still took out her phone and called Luo Sha.

At the very least, she had to understand how things had progressed to this point, right?

But it wasn’t Luo Sha who answered the phone; it was Luo Sha’s mother. "Who is this?"

"It’s me."

The sound of Ji Yunhuan’s voice made Luo’s mother stunned. She clearly remembered the incident where Ji Yunhuan had someone hit Mr. Luo.

Though intimidated by Ji Yunhuan, she didn’t dare to say much. She merely replied politely, "We’ve already agreed not to let Luo Sha have any contact with Qi Mo. We will certainly persuade her, so there’s no need for you to worry."

Luo’s mother thought Ji Yunhuan’s call was for the same reason as the Second Sister-in-law’s.

Hearing this, Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but frown. Luo’s mother had previously supported Qi Mo and Luo Sha being together. Her change in stance must’ve been influenced by the Eldest Sister-in-law.

Ji Yunhuan recalled Qi Mo’s angry demeanor from earlier today and felt a growing sense of unease.

Luo’s mother hung up and put down the phone, glancing at Luo Sha’s tightly shut bedroom door. Luo Sha was inside.

The Eldest Sister-in-law had come the day after Ji Yunhuan’s family had left and talked with Luo’s parents. Their attitude changed, and they expressed support for Luo Sha and Qi Mo’s relationship. They wouldn’t cause any more trouble like before.

However, the Eldest Sister-in-law had also given them money, ordering them to restrain their daughter by any means necessary, forbidding Luo Sha from seeing Qi Cheng.

With Luo Sha away, Luo’s parents accepted the money. Although they would’ve preferred a larger sum, they knew the Eldest Sister-in-law’s intentions were clear. If they didn’t comply, not only would they lose the money, but they might also bring disaster upon themselves.

When Qi Mo brought Luo Sha back, Luo’s parents said nothing. They didn’t dare to utter anything excessive in front of Qi Mo.

But Luo Sha quickly found out that her parents had taken the money.

If they took the money, what did it look like for her to stay with Qi Mo?

She wasn’t doing it for the money; her parents had sold her out.

Since then, Luo Sha had confined herself in her room.

Due to this, Mr. Luo was very upset. He paced back and forth in the room. "That damned girl. Does she really think I can’t control her now? How dare she throw a tantrum!"

He was just about to barge in and scold Luo Sha when Mrs. Luo held him back. "Haven’t you learned your lesson already? Qi Mo is coming over tomorrow. What do you think will happen if he sees you hitting Luo Sha?"

Getting scolded by Qi Mo wouldn’t be worth it.

Luo Sha and Qi Mo wouldn’t obediently split up that way.

Mrs. Luo didn’t want such a significant loss and didn’t want Mr. Luo to act on impulse. They already had the money. If Luo Sha wanted to stay mad, let her stay mad.

The Ji Family was not a family they could hope to climb.

Mrs. Luo’s advice calmed Mr. Luo. He too realized Qi Mo wasn’t someone to provoke.

So he stopped.

The couple soon went to sleep.

The next morning, Mr. Luo was the first to wake up. He wanted to find a chance to reason with Luo Sha and make her give up willingly.

But Luo Sha’s bedroom door was open.

Mr. Luo thought his daughter had come around. He joyfully walked over, only to find the room empty, with the quilt neatly folded.

"Wife!" He walked back to their room to wake the sleeping Mrs. Luo.

Mrs. Luo asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Luo Sha seems to be missing!"

"Missing? Where could she have gone? Did she run off to find Qi Mo again?"

Mr. Luo worriedly replied, "If Qi Mo’s mother saw that, we’d be in big trouble!"

Early in the morning, Ji Yunhuan had just come downstairs when the female housekeeper approached. "Ms. Ji, the maid from the Ji Family called to say a couple surnamed Luo came looking for you."

"Looking for me?" Ji Yunhuan frowned and asked, "What do they want?"

"I heard them say that Ms. Luo Sha is missing and her parents are looking for her."

Luo’s parents couldn’t find their way to the Qi Family, so they had gone to Ji Yunhuan.

The housekeeper’s words made Ji Yunhuan stop in her tracks. "Luo Sha is missing? Where did she run off to?"

"Do you need help finding her?" the housekeeper asked. She knew Ji Yunhuan cared a lot about Luo Sha.

"Yes, try to find her. But don’t let anyone else know." Although Ji Yunhuan wasn’t sure what had happened, she knew Luo Sha’s departure was certainly related to the Eldest Sister-in-law’s actions.

Thinking about how Luo Sha hadn’t run away despite years of being beaten by her parents, but now had left home over Qi Mo’s issue, Ji Yunhuan felt a bit worried for her.

At noon, Ruirui finished half a bowl of rice. "Mom, I want more."

Ji Yunhuan smiled with satisfaction. "Baby, your appetite is really good today?"

"Yeah." He smiled, his eyes curving like crescent moons.

"Haven’t had Grandma Li’s cooking for many days, is that why you like it so much?" Ji Yunhuan asked with a smile.

Ruirui licked his lips. "Yummy."

The female housekeeper chuckled beside them. "If Young Master Rui likes it, I can cook every day."

Qi Cheng, watching Ruirui from the side, looked displeased. "To a foodie, everything tastes good."

Ji Yunhuan almost died of exasperation. Every time she was happy, Qi Cheng had a knack for saying something to disrupt the mood.

"Qi Cheng! What exactly aren’t you satisfied with about these two kids and me?" Ji Yunhuan pinched his hand under the table so hard that he winced. "Ji Yunhuan, ease up!"

Ji Yunhuan’s phone rang, and she ignored him, answering the call first.

It was about finding Luo Sha.

Ji Yunhuan stood up and told Qi Cheng, "I’ll go out for a bit. You watch the kids."

"..." Qi Cheng, left at the table, stared at the two little rivals with an irritated expression.

When Ji Yunhuan saw Luo Sha, they were at the train station. Seeing Ji Yunhuan, Luo Sha was startled.

"What are you doing here?"

Ji Yunhuan put her hands in her pockets and looked at Luo Sha. "Where are you going?"
