Chapter 576: Chapter 576 Yangyang Finally Recognizes Yun Huan_1

Lin Zhenyu looked at her and said, "Then why are you in such a hurry? Why are you crying? If he’s really getting a divorce, then you can marry him, can’t you?"

"But he wouldn’t be willing to marry me."

"If he slept with you, then he doesn’t have a choice." Lin Zhenyu was never one to suffer a loss. Since Lin Xiang had already given herself to him and her second brother was getting a divorce, he had to marry Lin Xiang.

"But I want him to willingly marry me."

Lin Zhenyu rubbed her forehead. "Here you go again! It’s always like this! What is love, can you eat it? If you had gotten Qi Cheng into bed before, you wouldn’t be in this mess today."

She felt like she was about to be driven mad by Lin Xiang.

In the past, she had hoped that Qi Cheng would love her and willingly marry her. But what happened then?

The more Lin Xiang wanted this, the more she fell for men who didn’t even look at her. It seemed like she was always fantasizing about other women’s men...

Lin Zhenyu looked at Lin Xiang, tormented by love, too tired even to scold her. She only hoped Lin Xiang wouldn’t take love so seriously. After all, in this world, the most torturous thing was love!

...

After two days of Ji Yunhuan’s careful care, Yangyang’s condition improved somewhat. At night, she finally couldn’t resist her fatigue and fell asleep for a while.

Qi Cheng pushed open the door and walked in. Seeing her so dedicated to Yangyang for the past two days, even losing quite a bit of weight herself, he sat down by the bed and covered Ji Yunhuan with a blanket.

Seeing her love for their son, he felt both helpless and heartbroken. He quietly kept her company by the bedside.

Ji Yunhuan woke up after a short nap. Opening her eyes, she glanced at Yangyang. He had eaten something that night and looked a bit more energetic.

Due to the habits she had formed over the past two days, she constantly worried about him, even while sleeping, afraid that he would feel unwell in the middle of the night.

When she moved her body, Ji Yunhuan realized she was leaning not against the headboard but against a man’s chest.

She looked up and found Qi Cheng, who had been serving as her pillow, gazing at her deeply.

Still half-asleep, Ji Yunhuan suddenly felt more awake. "What are you doing here? Aren’t you going to sleep? Standing here like a statue?"

"You’ve been taking care of Yangyang every day. There’s hardly any time left for me and Ruirui. If you don’t miss me, can’t I miss you?"

Ji Yunhuan felt guilty at his words.

Looking apologetically at him, she said, "I’m sorry. I’ve been so exhausted these past few days. Seeing Yangyang sick doesn’t make me feel good as his mother."

"I’m not blaming you. I know what you’re thinking." Qi Cheng lowered his head and gently kissed her. "Sleep in peace."

Ji Yunhuan lay down and realized her neck hurt from leaning for half the night.

She rested her head on the pillow, still too awake to fall asleep quickly. Her gaze fell on Yangyang’s face. She reached out and felt his forehead; his temperature was normal, not hot anymore. She smiled in relief. "He’s not as feverish as when I was asleep."

Qi Cheng, beside her, watched the mother and son. He silently hoped Yangyang would quickly accept Ji Yunhuan. Even if she had made difficult choices in the past because of the adults’ issues, what she was doing now should be enough.

Yangyang, leaning against the pillow, felt the gentle touch on his forehead. He opened his eyes sleepily and called out, "Mom."

Seeing her son like this made Ji Yunhuan’s heart ache. For a moment, she believed Yangyang was calling her, but then she thought otherwise. She figured Yangyang must be confused from sleep, mistaking her for his aunt.

She didn’t blame him and smiled. "Sleep, Mom is here with you."

Yangyang, hearing her words, grabbed Ji Yunhuan’s hand and fell back asleep.

Even knowing he might mistake her for his aunt, Ji Yunhuan couldn’t stop her tears. Even if her son hated her and ignored her, she just wanted to see him healthy and not influenced by his aunt’s words, or make himself sick like this time.

Qi Cheng gently held her in his arms and said, "Look, our son is starting to rely on you now. Isn’t he?"

"He’s just confused."

"How is he confused?" Unlike Ji Yunhuan’s skepticism, Qi Cheng saw things clearly. "He’s quite aware. Being sick is painful. At times like this, he remembers best who treats him well. Yunhuan, your efforts are paying off, so don’t be too sad."

"You’re comforting me again!" After so many disappointments, Ji Yunhuan didn’t dare to hope anymore.

She believed Yangyang wouldn’t easily acknowledge her.

Seeing her so wary, Qi Cheng could only smile helplessly.

Motherhood might be the most admirable thing in this world. No matter how difficult Ji Yunhuan had been before, in front of her children, she was just a loving mother.

With Qi Cheng by her side, Ji Yunhuan felt at ease and slept until dawn.

Yangyang woke up before her. Over the past few days, he had gotten into the habit of trying to wake Ji Yunhuan as soon as he woke up. Qi Cheng stopped him, "Don’t wake her."

"Bathroom." Sitting on the bed, still groggy from the long sleep, Qi Cheng lifted him, "I’ll take you."

Yangyang looked at Qi Cheng and extended his arms.

If last night he had called for her in a daze, now Qi Cheng felt his son had truly changed, because before getting sick, Yangyang would always go to the bathroom on his own. He would never let anyone carry him and would even avoid an offered hand.

Carrying the little one to the bathroom, Qi Cheng placed him on the toilet. Yangyang’s room had a lower sink and toilet designed for children. After helping him with his pants, Qi Cheng said, "Go ahead."

Feeling somewhat resentful about having to serve this obedient little guy, Qi Cheng was full of complaints.

After Yangyang finished, Qi Cheng took him to wash his hands.

He didn’t rush to carry him out. Instead, he looked at the unusually cooperative Yangyang and asked, "Did it feel good being sick these past days?"

Yangyang shook his head. It didn’t feel good at all.

Being sick was more painful than he had imagined.

"Do you know who has been taking care of you these days?" queried Qi Cheng.

"Yes." Yangyang replied. While he was sick, Ji Yunhuan had been taking care of him. He knew it was her, and because of that, he hadn’t disliked her as much.

"Will you treat her the same as before?" Qi Cheng stared at him, "Do you know how worried Yunhuan was about you? She didn’t eat or drink while taking care of you. I know you’ve always thought your second mom was your mother. But if she really cared about you, would she let you get this sick?"
