Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Cousin-Chapter 307: Saw Something I Shouldn’t Have Seen_1
Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Saw Something I Shouldn’t Have Seen_1
Aunt Bai smiled, "Mm. You can look around as if it’s your own home. I’ll go check in the kitchen."
Because Aunt Bai was so kind, and hearing that Bai Liyan wasn’t home, Ji Yunhuan, having nothing to do, didn’t want to sit idle. So she looked around. She really liked the style of his home.
As Ji Yunhuan wandered, she noticed that most of the doors weren’t locked; they were open, allowing her to easily explore inside.
The servant followed her and she asked, "Dr. Bai lives here alone, right?"
"Yes."
Ji Yunhuan smiled, "It’s really too big for one person."
Of course, compared to the extravagant Qi Cheng, it was much more understated.
The servant laughed, "You’ll get used to it."
Ji Yunhuan walked a few more steps forward. The servant said, "That is Mr. Bai’s room ahead."
With that, Ji Yunhuan became even more curious. She took several steps forward and saw the door was open. Curious about his room, she stepped inside. She swore she just wanted to have a look, but she saw Bai Liyan standing there shirtless, with only a towel around his waist. The sight of his firm muscles made her momentarily stunned.
Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but take another couple of glances.
Despite Bai Liyan’s typically slender appearance, he had quite a bit of muscle under his clothes.
Bai Liyan stood there, not expecting her to suddenly enter his room. He quickly grabbed a shirt and put it on. On his lower abdomen, slightly to the left, was a birthmark resembling a butterfly; of course, it only roughly resembled one, without specific details.
Even though Bai Liyan dressed quickly, Ji Yunhuan still noticed the details clearly.
"Have you seen enough?" A cold voice came through.
Ji Yunhuan, though feeling awkward, kept a calm facade. She hadn’t intended to see him and explained, "Aunt Bai said you weren’t home, so I thought I’d look around. I didn’t expect..."
Bai Liyan paused. He had stayed home all day and knew his mother had invited Ji Yunhuan over. He explained quickly, "I just got back from outside. She might not have known I had returned."
"Really?" Ji Yunhuan didn’t question it. She looked around Bai Liyan’s room, "Your room is quite nice."
After complimenting, she walked out.
Soon after, Bai Liyan had changed into long pants and tidied up. Seeing that Ji Yunhuan was still waiting, he said, "Have you had enough? Do you mind if I show you around further?"
"Sure! I want to see your home’s decor." Ji Yunhuan asked, "Did you design it yourself?"
"I hired someone, but many of the ideas were mine." Bai Liyan led her around the third floor and then to the top floor. The top floor had a garden with flowers and plants, and an observatory for stargazing.
Ji Yunhuan followed him up. Bai Liyan said, "This is the most comfortable place in the whole building. You can come here to relax anytime."
Ji Yunhuan looked around. It was indeed quite nice. At night, one could stargaze, and during the day, you could see the layout of nearby villas. The rich area of City A was full of privately-built villas by wealthy residents. Each house was a scenic view.
Compared to the secretive luxury of Qi Cheng’s mansion, this had a different charm, feeling a bit lively and less quiet.
Ji Yunhuan smiled, "It’s very nice."
"If you like it, next time you’re decorating, I can help you." Bai Liyan proposed.
Ji Yunhuan looked at him in surprise, "Wouldn’t that trouble you?"
"I’m free, it’s no trouble." His gaze fell on Ji Yunhuan, "How have things been with Qi Cheng lately?"
"Nothing much." Mentioning this topic made Ji Yunhuan feel quite awkward.
She realized she was particularly afraid of mentioning Qi Cheng.
Especially with Wen Nuan and her second sister-in-law’s words, they all told her that reality wouldn’t allow her to be with Qi Cheng.
Moreover, she didn’t seem to love him enough to disregard everything, feeling she must have him.
"If you encounter any problems, you can tell me. I’ll help you." Bai Liyan said seriously. He was afraid she’d suffer any wrongs with Qi Cheng. He knew Qi Cheng’s personality all too well.
Ji Yunhuan looked at Bai Liyan, "You really care about Chenchen’s matter! Actually, you don’t have to be so good to me."
If it weren’t for Chenchen, Bai Liyan probably wouldn’t even care.
"Mr. Bai, ma’am says dinner is ready." The servant’s voice came from behind.
Bai Liyan looked at Ji Yunhuan, "Let’s go eat!"
Although Ji Yunhuan said there was no need, he had always been keeping an eye on her matters.
It seemed to have become a habit.
Aunt Bai had prepared a table full of delicious dishes. Her cooking skills surpassed that of the old lady at Qi Cheng’s place.
Ji Yunhuan ate some. Aunt Bai looked at her, "How is it? Tastes good?"
Ji Yunhuan nodded, "Thank you, Aunt Bai. The food is delicious. Your cooking skills are excellent."
"I’m glad you like it. If you enjoy it, you can come over often. I’ll cook for you," Aunt Bai said with a smile.
Ji Yunhuan felt a bit overwhelmed, "That wouldn’t be appropriate."
She often went to Wen Nuan’s home to mooch meals. Would she now become a professional moocher?
"There’s nothing inappropriate. When you and Liyan get married, I’ll still cook for you," Aunt Bai said, as if she was certain Ji Yunhuan would marry Bai Liyan.
Ji Yunhuan glanced at Bai Liyan, then at Aunt Bai, feeling confused. Aunt Bai had previously said she knew everything about Bai Liyan. Now she was saying this.
Could there be some strange misunderstanding?
"Aunt Bai, I don’t think Mr. Bai and I will get married." She and Bai Liyan weren’t that close.
Aunt Bai laughed, "There’s no rush. You can take your time to get to know each other. Liyan truly wants to marry you."
Ji Yunhuan looked at Bai Liyan, unable to stop herself from wanting to ask him what exactly he had said, causing such a misunderstanding in Aunt Bai’s mind.
So, after the meal, when Aunt Bai asked Bai Liyan to see her off, she didn’t refuse.
In the car, Ji Yunhuan looked at Bai Liyan, "Did you tell Aunt Bai we were getting married?"
Bai Liyan said, "Didn’t you say that day, whoever is willing to marry you, you’ll marry them?"
"But you and I..." Ji Yunhuan felt a headache, "Why do you still remember that?"
"My mom asked if I would marry you. I couldn’t possibly tell her I wouldn’t. Having admitted it in front of so many people, I didn’t want to deny it. So it made her misunderstand my intentions." He looked attentively at Ji Yunhuan, "If you are willing, I will marry you. Of course, I won’t force you."
