Chapter 186: NEW LIFE

WHEN Sohee got the call that Kim Heedo was finally awake, he cried.

He cried until his eyes were red and puffy.

He cried until he couldn’t breathe anymore.

And he would have cried more if he hadn’t fainted.

I should really take better care of myself for the sake of my babies.

"Sohee-ya, how are you feeling?"

"I’m feeling better now, Garam Hyung," Sohee said. And, yes, he was talking less formally to Lim Garam now. "Thank you for taking care of me. I’m sorry, my fainting spell seems to have returned."

"No need to apologize for that, silly," Lim Garam said, sitting on the chair next to the bed. "Aside from our previous relationship as a hyung and dongsaeng, we’re housemates now. Taking care of each other is natural."

Right.

After the semester ended, Sohee finally filed for a leave of absence to focus on his webtoon series with Hong Sera and Cho Euntak.

Much to his surprise, the two crybabies also filed for a leave of absence.

"It’s awkward seeing Han Raehyun at school all the time, so I thought I should take a break again. It’s not like I’m in a hurry to graduate."

That was Hong Sera, the chaebol princess, said.

"I can’t stand seeing Baek Jeho dating, so I also took a leave of absence. It’s fine since I’m going to enlist soon anyway. So, I’d like to work on our webtoon first before I serve in the army."

Yes, that kid, Cho Euntak would enlist in the army soon.

He’s running away from Baek Jeho.

On the other hand...

"Hyung, can I ask something personal?"

"Sure," Lim Garam said casually while peeling an apple. "What is it?"

"I heard from my in-laws that it was an open secret that you were the whistleblower who sent Song Sihyuk to prison," Sohee said carefully. "Why are your in-laws quiet about it? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m happy that you sent Song Sihyuk to jail, and I’m also relieved that Song Sihyuk’s family didn’t retaliate. But I’m curious. Usually, whistleblowers aren’t well-received if they did the right thing."

"I’m still the one holding Lim Garam’s leash."

"Hmm?"

"Just because Sihyuk Hyung is in prison right now doesn’t mean he magically lost all the power and influence that he has," Lim Garam explained. "And he’s still my father-in-law’s successor. The chairman of SG Group isn’t affectionate, but he’s good at judging people’s competence. To him, only Sihyuk Hyung is capable of taking his place. That’s why he won’t let his competent son rot in jail."

"Then it’s even more amazing that the chairman didn’t retaliate against you, Hyung. Is it because you gave him a grandson?"

"That and because Mija took my side."

"Oh, right. The old men of the biggest conglomerates in our country have deep faith in their shamans.

"Mija’s specialty is curses."

"Really?"

"In the past, Mija’s predecessor used to curse SG Group’s competitors until they went bankrupt. That’s probably why the previous shaman died early," Lim Garam said, sighing while shaking his head. "But Mija doesn’t do that. Instead, she’s using her divine power to protect SG Group and its main family from others’ curses. I think she can do other things now, though. Mija and Shaman Jung got an "upgrade" of their divine power when they caught Shaman Crystal."

Right.

That happened, too.

Shaman Crystal was caught, but Shaman Jung and Mija handled her. I didn’t get the details, but apparently, Shaman Jung and Miju absorbed Shaman Crystal’s divine abilities. So, now, Shaman Crystal is nothing but a shell of her former self.

"Are you satisfied with your revenge, Sohee-ya?"

"The rookie thug who shot Heedo was already taken care of by my in-laws," Sohee said, clenching his hands tight. "But they delayed their punishment for Jin Taejoon because I asked them to wait until I give birth to my babies. I want to beat the crap out of that bastard before everything else. But I don’t want to risk my babies’ safety, so I asked them to wait."

"I see," Lim Garam said, pausing for a moment. "Sohee-ya, thank you."

"For what, Hyung?"

"For stopping your revenge against Sihyuk Hyung when I sent him to prison. You know I did that because I still wanted to protect the father of my son, don’t you?"

Oh, that.

Actually, my in-laws asked me if I was satisfied with that. And I told them that it was enough for me to see Song Sihyuk sent to jail by his own husband.

"If you told your in-laws that you weren’t satisfied with that kind of punishment, I’m sure Ilsung Group would have done everything in their power to destroy Sihyuk Hyung to the point that my father-in-law would have been forced to remove him from the succession line," Lim Garam added. "My father-in-law knew that Ilsung Group would have done worse than me sending my husband to prison for a year. That’s also one of the reasons why my father-in-law allowed that to happen."

"To be fair, my real punishment for Song Sihyuk is your betrayal, Garam Hyung," Sohee said, smiling. "I don’t care if he’s going on a year-long vacation in prison. I’m happy knowing that he’s devastated by the fact that you betrayed him. Plus, he’ll be separated from you and Gunwoo for that long. So, you can do whatever you want for now, Hyung."

"I know. That’s why we’re here."

Right?

The house they were living in was actually Lim Garam’s villa in Yeoju.

And it wasn’t just them living there at the moment.

"Sohee Oppa, Garam Oppa, we’re back."

"We bought food."

It was Hong Sera and Cho Euntak who came home from grocery shopping.

"Daddy, Mija Noona and I are done playing. Let’s play this time!"

Now Gunwoo and Mija came to Sohee’s room.

Aigoo.

Everyone is here.

Aside from their group, they were also living with a complete elite team of household staff members.

Plus, Kang Sul was there as the head of security.

There was a reason why they were all living in the same villa.

The second floor of the villa is a soundproof recording studio that Garam Hyung is using to make music.

Yes, Lim Garam had decided to make music again.

Sometimes, the older Omega would invite his old groupmates to make music with him.

Ah, one of his old groupmates is surprisingly the uncle of someone I know.

But that was for another story.

Anyway...

We, the Crybabies, have turned the huge extra room on the first floor as our webtoon studio.

And that was Sohee’s new life as a soon-to-be divorced pregnant Omega.
