Married For Now-Chapter 149: TRUTH IS OUT
Chapter 149: TRUTH IS OUT
[Half an hour ago...]
"SERA-YA, are you sure that’s all you need?"
Hong Sera tore her gaze away from the documents in her hands, and then she lifted her head to meet Kim Heedo’s worried eyes. "Yes, I just need the transcript of the truck driver’s statement."
It was the transcript of the truck driver’s confession when he name-dropped Lee Junsu.
Most of it was the truth.
Yes, not everything written there was true.
"Thank you for allowing me to change the transcript," Hong Sera said. "Is it obvious that there are lies mixed in this fabricated document?"
"No, not at all, Sera-ya," Park Sohee said while shaking his head. "You completely captured the "voice" of the truck driver, so the script that you added didn’t sound out of place. You’re really a good writer."
"Aww. Thank you, Oppa."
"You’ve grown a lot, Hong Sera," Kim Heedo praised her. "You know how to lie now."
"Heedo-ya, I know how to lie. I just don’t do it often."
"Ah, let me rephrase: you’ve become cunning."
Hong Sera smiled while tilting her head to one side. "Does it suit me?"
"Very much," Park Sohee said while nodding firmly. "Sera-ya, you’re so freaking pretty. If you were a villainess in a rofan1 novel, I wouldn’t mind being your henchman. I would even kill the female lead for you."
Pfft.
Hong Sera laughed softly because of Park Sohee’s strange but interesting way of praising her.
Sohee Hyung can really be funny sometimes.
"Hyung, are you trying to make me jealous?" Kim Heedo complained. "Is Hong Sera prettier than me?"
"Yes, she is."
"Hyung..."
Hong Sera couldn’t help but smile while watching Kim Heedo who was obviously in love with Park Sohee.
I’m happy that my precious friend is in a healthy relationship now.
She didn’t want to compare Park Sohee and Lee Junsu to each other because it was wrong, but she couldn’t help it.
Back when Kim Heedo was dating Lee Junsu, Kim Heedo was more anxious than he was happy during their relationship. Even before Park Sohee entered the picture, the relationship between Kim Heedo and Lee Junsu had been a bit rocky already.
It’s because Lee Junsu was busy as an idol trainee while Kim Heedo was a clingy boyfriend back then.
But, well, it was a case of "right love, wrong timing."
Plus, Kim Heedo and Lee Junsu were both immature back then, as they were just in high school.
So, the situation was completely different now.
Kim Heedo was still immature when he met Park Sohee, but Park Sohee helped Kim Heedo mature.
My dear friend hasn’t matured that much yet, but I commend Sohee Oppa’s patience.
"What’s wrong?" Kim Heedo asked when he noticed that Hong Sera was staring at them. "Are you in pain? Should I call the doctor?"
"No, I’m just feeling a bit jealous of your relationship," Hong Sera said. She wasn’t embarrassed to admit that because she was close to both Kim Heedo and Park Sohee. "Your love is beautiful to see."
"You can also have this kind of love," Kim Heedo said casually. "Just dump Han Raehyun and find a better man."
Park Sohee nudged Kim Heedo, but Kim Heedo got the wrong message.
"Or woman."
"That’s not it, dude," Park Sohee complained. "How could you tell Sera to break up with her boyfriend so casually? That’s so tactless of you."
"Oh, Hyung is right. I was tactless," Kim Heedo said, and then he turned to her. "Did I offend you? I’m sorry, Sera-ya."
"No, it’s alright. I’m used to your bluntness anyway," Hong Sera said, pausing for a moment. "And you’re actually right this time, Heedo-ya."

Present...
HONG SERA wanted to live kindly, but this time, she chose to be the bad person.
And she was now witnessing the result of her selfishness.
"Is that true, Jin Minki?" Han Raehyun asked Jin Minki in a cold voice. "Answer me— and don’t you dare lie."
Jin Minki closed his eyes tightly. "I’m sorry, Raehyun-ah— I really am."
Hong Sera then silently sipped her tea.
So, this is probably why Sohee Oppa enjoys real-life dramas...
After she talked to her brothers, they finally allowed Han Raehyun and Jin Minki in her room.
But not without her nannies-slash-bodyguards.
Her nannies were in the lounge area of the VIP Room, and yes, the two could hear their conversation.
I can’t ask my nannies to give us some privacy because I got into an accident the day I asked my shadow bodyguards not to follow me. So, I’m not allowed to go around without my bodyguards from now on.
"You know that Lee Junsu orchestrated the "accident" to scare Sera?" Han Raehyun confronted Lee Junsu in a low, angry voice. "Just because Lee Junsu wanted to stop Sera from investigating him?"
Right.
That was the part of the transcript that Hong Sera added.
The truck driver didn’t say the reason why he did what he did. He just confessed that the mastermind was Lee Junsu’s manager. And that the manager only followed Lee Junsu’s order.
There was a reason why she added that lie, of course.
I wanted to know if Jin Minki was aware of Lee Junsu’s plan.
"Raehyun-ah, the plan wasn’t to harm Hong Sera," Jin Minki said defensively, finally opening his mouth. "The plan was just to almost hit me with the truck."
What?
Hong Sera knitted her eyebrows, confused.
I thought Lee Junsu wanted me gone because I was snooping through his business?
"What kind of plan was that?" Han Raehyun asked, and he looked just as confused as Hong Sera. "The truck driver confessed that the target was Sera."
"Yes, that’s why I was supposed to get into an accident while I was with her," Jin Minki said, obviously panicking because Han Raehyun was clearly angry. "Lee Junsu needed Hong Sera off his back, so he wanted to use me as a distraction..."
Han Raehyun still looked confused.
On the other hand, Hong Sera finally realized what was going on.
Maybe it was because she had a vivid imagination as an aspiring writer, but it was easy for her to read between the lines.
"Did Lee Junsu try to recreate what happened in the past?"
Han Raehyun and Jin Minki both turned to Hong Sera.
When she saw the guilt in Jin Minki’s eyes, the realization finally hit her.
I see it now.
"Lee Junsu wanted to distract me by using you to sabotage my relationship with Han Raehyun," Hong Sera said coldly while clenching her hands tight. "You "had" to get into an accident while with me because you wanted Han Raehyun and your family to blame me again for your misfortune."
Han Raehyun’s eyes widened a bit, and then he turned pale when he probably realized that Hong Sera made a valid point.
Jin Minki didn’t deny her words either.
"The truck driver probably didn’t know I was already in the car when you followed me, that’s why he hit my car without knowing I was there, too."
Again, Jin Minki didn’t deny it.
Haaah.
So, I’m right.
"Why would you do that, Jin Minki?" Han Raehyun asked in a low, cold voice as his jaw tightened. "Why would you sabotage my relationship with Sera? Is it just to help Lee Junsu?"
Jin Minki just lowered his head, obviously refusing to talk this time.
But Hong Sera didn’t want to let Jin Minki get away with it this time.
"Jin Minki, will you tell Han Raehyun the truth now? Or would you like me to say it?"
Almost immediately, Jin Minki raised his head and gave Hong Sera pleading eyes. "No, please don’t."
"If you can’t tell him, then I’ll do it."
"Hong Sera, please—"
"What is it?" Han Raehyun asked Hong Sera, cutting off Jin Minki. "Tell me, Sera-ya."
"Jin Minki wasn’t raped that day," Hong Sera said in a quiet voice. "That person was his boyfriend at the time."

"IS IT really okay with the twins to give my brother a school tour?" Sohee asked worriedly. "I wonder if Kim Hanhae still feels awkward around me."
To be fair, Kim Hanhae already apologized to Kim Hanhae.
Kim Heedo knitted his eyebrows. "Why would you think that, Hyung?"
"My brother-in-law got upset with me because I was the one who discovered that he was dating a much, much older guy. We already made up, but I still feel bad that I meddled with his relationship. So, I’m worried if asking him to give Go Gunjoon a school tour is a bad idea."
Go Gunjoon asked Kim Heedo what kind of a school Chunhwa High School looked like (because the website didn’t show many pictures), so Kim Heedo gave Kim Hanhae and Kim Haewon’s contact numbers to Go Gunjoon.
"You’re all the same age, so you should be friends."
That was what Kim Heedo told Go Gunjoon.
"Hyung, Kim Hanhae had already come to his senses," Kim Heedo assured him. "He already apologized to Eomma and Abeoji. So, don’t worry about that kid. Hyung did the right anyway."
Sohee felt relieved then. "I’m glad to hear that. I hope Go Gunjoon become good friends with the twins."
"Uh-huh."
Pfft.
Sohee couldn’t help but smile while watching Kim Heedo pack his bags cheerfully.
He looks excited.
As soon as they got home, the two of them started packing their bags for their advance honeymoon trip.
Yes, honeymoon trip because they were literally going to conceive a child this time.
My heat is coming in a week, and Dr. Seong said that my pheromones could trigger Heedo’s rut. So, we decided to go on a week-long vacation.
Sohee was pretty excited, too.
Nothing bad will happen while we’re away, right?

"DON’T CONTACT the kids— report directly to me from now on."
That was Kang Nari1’s order to the team working under his son.
Kim Heedo and his son-in-law, Park Sohee, were currently on their honeymoon trip.
I won’t let anyone or anything disturb them.
"Madam, I have some urgent news to report."
Kang Nari nodded. "Go ahead."
"Park Mansu-ssi has escaped."
Ah. freёnovelkiss.com
Park Mansu was Park Sohee’s father.
"Find him," Kang Nari said while pressing her temples. "And make sure that my troublesome in-law wouldn’t get near the children."

romance fantasyI often forget that Kim Heedo’s mother’s last name is Kang and not Kim. I’m sorry. TT It’s actually Kang Nari since Korean women don’t really take their husband’s last name after marriage.
