Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 373: The Antidote
Chapter 373: The Antidote
The bodyguard jumped in shock, furious that someone had barged in and ruined his fun. "Who dares to ruin my business?"
Logan shot him a cold glance. Jack responded by slamming a punch straight into the guard’s stomach.
"Argh! You—you can’t do this, I’m Old Mr. Reid’s bodyguard! You—AH!"
"Take him out."
Jack and Jaxon exchanged a quick glance and efficiently dragged the man away. In moments, the warehouse was cleared, leaving only Logan and Selina inside.
Logan took a deep breath. A wave of pain surged through him at the sight before him.
Her coat was torn, her cheek swollen, and her wrists were bleeding.
"You’re safe now. It’s over."
Selina was groggy, her mind clouded by the drug. She only knew she was safe now.
It felt like she was back in that snowy night four years ago, when she and Logan saved each other. She just knew he’d come.
Shivering from the heat, Selina murmured, "Logan..."
Her eyes held a look Logan had never seen before—soft, trusting, dependent.
Maybe it was the drug affecting her mind, but Selina seemed confused about where she was. She instinctively leaned on the only person she trusted.
"Logan, I don’t feel good..."
Her doe-like eyes looked up at him, filled with helplessness. Logan’s throat tightened. "Where does it hurt?"
"Here... and here..."
Selina kept gesturing but couldn’t clearly explain what she was feeling. Frustrated, she tugged her clothes halfway off and shoved his hand against her chest, voice desperate.
"It hurts right here..."
Logan felt the warmth beneath his fingers. He tried to pull his hand back, but she held it tightly.
Taking a deep breath, he said with restraint, "I’ll take you to the hospital."
Selina shook her head, burning with discomfort. Before Logan could react, she suddenly leaned up and kissed his throat.
"Selina!"
Logan pushed her away, panting. "We’re going to the hospital."
Selina squirmed in frustration, her voice laced with tears. "Logan, are you even a man? What’s wrong with you?!"
Logan shut his eyes tightly. "...Damn it."
At a time like this, any man being questioned like that would break. He took a deep breath, then suddenly leaned in and captured her lips.
"Mmm..."
Selina felt herself growing dizzy from the lack of air—and then, everything went black.
...
Six hours later.
"We managed to reconnect the tendons. The medicine Aiden sent worked well. With proper rest, she won’t suffer any long-term damage," Ethan said.
Logan finally relaxed. "Good."
"She should be awake now. Go check on her."
Ethan paused, then added, "Oh—about the drug. It was pretty strong. If the effects hadn’t been dealt with, it could’ve hurt her physically. So, from a medical standpoint, I’d say... well, you know what I mean."
Logan raised an eyebrow. "You think I’m some kind of beast?"
Ethan clicked his tongue. "It’s not being a beast—it was life-saving treatment. Learn the difference."
Logan opened the door to the hospital room. Selina was watching TV, bored out of her mind. Her eyes lit up when she saw him.
"Ethan told me you shot Angelica’s wrist to pieces?"
Logan raised a brow, surprised. After what she’d done while drugged, he didn’t expect her to face him so casually. He thought Mrs. Reid would at least be a little shy.
"She falsely accused you of breaking her wrist. So Grandpa had you kidnapped to take the fall. If her wrist didn’t end up broken, would that have been fair?"
Selina clicked her tongue twice. "Mr. Reid sure holds a grudge. Can’t take even the smallest loss, huh."
She wondered—once Logan found out the truth about who actually saved his life, would he think that just breaking Angelica’s wrist was letting her off too easy?
The thought amused her. But then Logan suddenly smiled. "I do hold grudges."
"Oh..."
"So, Mrs. Reid—do you remember what you said to me right before you passed out?"
Selina, who had been enjoying her imaginary drama, froze. "...Huh?"
Logan spoke slowly, "The moment I stepped into the warehouse, Mrs. Reid came running over and held onto me like her life depended on it. I was worried about your condition and said I’d take you to the hospital. But then Mrs. Reid said something... do you remember?"
Selina: "...?"
Crap. Her memory had a gap. What exactly did she say?
Ever since remembering what happened four years ago, everything after that had been fuzzy. The next clear thing she remembered was waking up in the hospital.
When did she cling to Logan like that?!
Her face shifted from red to white and back again. Logan chuckled meaningfully. "Looks like Mrs. Reid forgot... I should think of a proper punishment."
Selina lowered her head. "Maybe... give me a hint?"
The man tilted his head slightly, revealing a red mark on his throat—clearly a bite. A neat little set of teeth marks.
Selina: "..." Wait. What? Did she do that?
Logan said casually, "Mrs. Reid, care to explain?"
Selina started babbling, "It was the drug! They drugged me—I couldn’t control myself. That bite, that was raw emotion! I didn’t bite the bodyguards because in my heart, it’s only ever been you!"
Now it all made sense to her—she must’ve seen Logan and lost control, jumped him on the spot. She was shameless!
...
The room went quiet for two seconds.
Logan raised an eyebrow, eyes gleaming with interest. "So everything you did to me last night... was a display of genuine emotion?"
Selina nodded fast. "Absolutely!"
"Oh..." Logan looked thoughtful. "So when Mrs. Reid questioned my manhood... that was genuine too? Seems like you have a pretty serious misunderstanding of me."
Wait, what?
She said that?!
Selina swallowed, searching her memory. Maybe... possibly... yes, she might have said something like that. But at the time, she didn’t mean—
"Logan, listen, I can expl—mmph!"
Before she could finish, the man was already kissing her. "I told you. You’re getting punished."
Selina’s whole body went soft. Her mind blurred.
It felt like she was floating in water, clinging to Logan like he was her only lifeline.
"Mm..."

The next morning.
Selina opened her eyes and stared at the hospital ceiling, feeling like her soul had left her body.
Her whole body ached, and a certain tingly soreness between her legs left her... dazed.
Who am I? Where am I?
"You’re awake?"
Logan sat on the nearby sofa, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. Seeing her wake up, he put down his newspaper and walked toward her.
As her memory returned, Selina shivered and instinctively tried to flee.
Last night’s Logan... was something else. She’d told him to stop—multiple times! Yet he still dragged her back by the waist.
Was he even human?!
