Manaless Mage-Chapter 48 Mana Sense
The lightning instructor stared at Harry with a gentle smile on her face. She beckoned on him to follow her as she lead him to his new class.
Harry replied with a slight nod as he followed the instructor.
Although the woman had a calm expression on her face, her thoughts were anything but calm. She had never seen someone advance so fast!
During the past few weeks, Harry had not only completely developed his 'foundation' but had also 'broken through' to the first mana core stage!
This unsurprisingly shocked the principal and the lightning instructor. Even the most talented student in the academy only advanced to the first mana core stage after one month.
If anyone had told them someone was capable of advancing that fast, they would have never believed. However, they were witnessing with their own eyes.
Although the foundation developing stage seemed and sounded easy, it was anything but easy.
Mana was used to gradually build and strengthen the foundation, the process alone should take at least a month—it could take months and sometimes a year for untalented Elementalists—and yet, Harry did it all within weeks.
Due to this, Harry had also been promoted to the next 'class'.
The element halls were different from the lecture hall, since Harry had already met the necessary requirements, he was promoted immediately.
The promotional exams for the first class weren't difficult, the instructors would only check if the Elementalist's mana core was solid enough.
However, Harry's rapid progress wasn't the most shocking thing the academy discovered.
It turned out that Harry had one of the greatest gifts or rather talent in the history of magic—the mana body or rather, mana affinity body!
The mana affinity body, just as the name implied, meant having an affinity to mana so high that the mana in the air or surroundings was literally attracted or drawn to the body passively. This ability was something that couldn't be learnt or gained.
People with mana affinity bodies didn't need to actively draw the mana in the surroundings, the mana around them was naturally drawn to their bodies. 𝗳𝔯𝙚e𝒘e𝚋𝘯𝚘ν𝙚l.𝑐o𝙢
Although it wasn't in large amounts, it was still something that made them progress almost twice faster than a normal Elementalist or combat mage—mana affinity body wasn't limited to Elementalists alone.
Before today, there was only one student with that gift—Trent Morton. His mana body was what made him progress so fast, although Trent was barely fifteen years old, he was already close to breaking through to the third ma'am core stage—something most Elementalist at the age of eighteen struggle to achieve.
However, what they didn't know was that Harry's "mana affinity body" was only due to the passive ability of his 'mana core illusion'.
Mana core illusion was a skill that develops even when it wasn't activated, this 'passive development' was what made it seem like Harry had a mana affinity body.
As long as the skill was activated, even if Harry wasn't 'absorbing mana', the skill would still develop on its own. It would create an illusion making it seem like mana was drawn to Harry's body.
'Although the past few weeks were quite boring… a few good things did happen.' Harry mumbled inwardly as he stared off into the distance.

Two of his skills had levelled up—Accelerate and Energy sense. The level-ups weren't surprising as he had already expected them.
He used accelerate literally every day so it was definitely sure to level up.
During the past few weeks, he had been practising more on how to control his energy better.
He had gotten better at controlling his energy even before it levelled up, he could now move it around more parts of his body and even compress it at some parts.
However, the skill that surprised him the most or rather, made him happy the most was his new skill: Mana sense.
Just like Energy sense, it was also a learned skill—he learnt the skill on his own and didn't rely on the system to get it.

Harry exhaled as he slowly opened his eyes. Although he had been channelling his energy for about five hours, he didn't feel mentally drained.
A slight smile appeared on his face as he stared at the notification flashing across his eyes.
[Energy Control Level up!]
[Skill "Energy Control" now level 2!]
Finally, it levelled up! Harry had expected it to level up far earlier than this due to the amount of time he put into channelling his energy, however, the reality was different.
The curved edges of his lips slowly returned to their original position as Harry's face morphed into a complicated expression.
A few minutes ago, just before he stopped channelling his energy, he sensed… something different.
He knew it wasn't his energy because he was familiar with the sensation of the white flame inside him.
Besides, he didn't sense it inside of him, just like he did his energy. He sensed it around his body, or to put in better words, in his surroundings.
It was only for a few seconds, however, he was still able to remember the fleeting sensation.
He had a few theories as to what he sensed or how he sensed it, however, he wanted to confirm it.
He closed his eyes once more and then went into deep concentration. However, this time, his focus wasn't on his energy or within his body but it was on his surroundings.
He didn't extend it too much as he didn't want to put too much strain on his mind, he only kept it within his limits. It was easier to search for a small pin in a small box than in a large one.
Even after focusing for a few minutes, he wasn't able to make any progress, however, he didn't give up and simply kept putting in more efforts.
It did take a while but he was finally able to sense it.
Whatever he was feeling didn't have any colour neither did it have any shape, however, he could still feel it… it was all around him…
'Could this be…'
As if to confirm his theories or rather, thoughts, a notification suddenly flashed in front of him.
Although the sudden notification broke his concentration, he wasn't mad. His mouth parted slightly as he stared at the notification flashing in front of him.
[New Skill Learned!]
[Mana Sense Level 1!]
[Congrats Host on learning a new skill!]
'Mana…?' Harry mumbled inwardly.
