Chapter 293: To Zenith City

However, the smile on his face soon vanished like it was never even there.

"Now let’s all get ready, we’ll be leaving in exactly thirty minutes." He said, while the five students nodded in response.

*

Thirty minutes later...

"Wow... I’ve seen this before, but it never ceases to amaze me." Nathan said, staring at the massive hover bus floating in front of them.

Harry subconsciously nodded in agreement, his breath completely taken away by the sight before him.

It was a large, black bus with intricate blue lines coiling around the body.

The lines kept pulsing with an ethereal light, giving the vehicle an otherworldly appearance.

Harry couldn’t even deny that this bus was on a whole different level compared to the hover vehicles in Vernil, as the technology was far more advanced.

The other three Elementalists beside them were also staring at the bus, however, except from Clara, Susan and Trent seemed quite calm.

Susan was calm as she had used something quite similar to this before, though it wasn’t as advanced.

Trent on the other hand, had his mind occupied by other things, such as how he was going to fare in the tournament... especially when he faced Harry.

’No matter the cost... I’ll win...’ He mumbled to himself, clenching his hands into a tight fist.

As for Clara, her mind was also occupied with the tournament.

Though she didn’t want to admit It, she doubted she’d be able to advance very far, having qualified merely due to luck.

"Enough staring, go in." The voice of Mr stone, the burly, brown skinned instructor snapped them out of their thoughts, and they swiftly trouped into the vehicle.

’Wow...’ Harry marvelled within himself, his eyes roaming about in awe.

If he had thought the outside of the bus was beautiful, then the inside looked even more beautiful.

The confines of the bus were a lot wider than they seemed than the outside, with more than enough space to comfortable contain all of them.

The chairs were arranged side by side to one another, each one providing a nice view through the tinted windows.

The passenger seats were separated from the driver’s like it was a plane, except they wouldn’t be flying as high.

Inscribed around the interior were thin runes, each one glowing with a soft yellow hum.

However, what surprised Harry the most was the high density of mana in the vehicle.

Though it wasn’t as thick as the rooms in their training facility, it was still abundant, enough for an Elementalist to make a minor breakthrough.

’The AMO really do pour lots of resources into this tournament...’ He mumbled inwardly, scoffing under his breath.

Unfortunately, the abundant mana in the air weren’t of any benefit to him, since he was a manaless mage.

But nonetheless, he wasn’t too bothered by that, since there were a lot more powerful things he could do with his energy compared to mana.

Harry calmly took a seat, and to his surprise, Clara suddenly sat beside him, flashing a warm smile at him.

He didn’t think much about it though, only buckling his seatbelt as he never really caring about whoever sat beside him.

Nathan’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t say anything, taking a seat behind them instead.

He had actually planned on sitting beside Harry, so they could at least chat and catch up during the journey.

He hadn’t expected it, but he had gotten quite fond of Harry, mainly because of all the time they spent sparring and training together.

Besides, his best friend, Stanley unfortunately hadn’t even made it past the preliminary rounds.

He was once again put up against Susan in one of the rounds, and just as one would expect, he was no match for her.

Unlike Clara, who was extremely lucky during the preliminary rounds, Stanley’s odds weren’t so great.

’But still...’ Nathan thought, his brows furrowing into a slight frown as he stared at Clara.

He could still remember how funny Clara’s qualification was.

Being a stage two Elementalist, she had been planted in a group with one stage three Elementalist.

Only one person would be allowed to qualify out of the ten of them, and with the way things seemed, one would have thought for sure that she would be eliminated.

However, the students in her group turned out to be extremely stupid... wasting all their mana on pointless attacks.

At the end of the day, majority of them ran out of mana, leaving only her and a few others... which included the early stage three Elementalist.

As one would expect, that Elementalist toyed with the rest of them.

But then just as he was about to finish her off, the two other Elementalists in her group jumped in front of the attack, pooling all they had to divert it from her.

Seeing such on opportunity, Clara hadn’t wasted any time, and quickly attacked the stage three Elementalist, who was still recovering from the shock, pushing him off the stage.

Just like that, he was eliminated from the round.

Though only one person was meant to qualify out of them, the rules didn’t state that they couldn’t temporarily cooperate to knock someone out.

The most shocking thing was that those guys dropped out immediately after, making Clara the only qualifier.

However, according to Clara, she never knew those guys... talk less of cooperating with them before the match.

It turned out they had just did what they did to gain her favour, as they both had a huge crush on her.

Meanwhile, Harry looked outside the window next to him, admiring the scenery of large sky scrapers, highly advanced hover vehicles and even holograms floating on the outside.

The streets were bursting with energy, with people moving up and down, going about their daily business.

He had always heard about how civilised and sophisticated the central continent was compared to the southern continent, but seeing it firsthand was a completely different experience.

Vroom!

The bus suddenly shot through the air at astonishing speed, the scenery through the window glass changing into rapid blurs.

Harry exhaled, shifting his gaze from the window glass to his surroundings.

"T-this is your first time here right... in the central continent?" The blonde haired girl beside him suddenly spoke, her voice a bit shy and timid.

’Huh?’ Harry thought, a bit surprised that Clara was speaking to him.

"Yes." He replied, his gaze shifting to her.

"Ohh... me too." Clara quickly replied, a tinge of red slowly creeping up her cheeks.

She hadn’t actually expected Harry to reply her, and her heart couldn’t help but race at the sight of his handsome face.

Throughout the rest of the journey, they both conversed, though it was mostly Clara asking questions, and Harry replying to them.

After about twenty minutes, the bus finally arrived at Zenith city, one of the biggest cities in the central continent, and where the world academy tournament would be held.

Harry gently alighted from the vehicle, letting out a low exhale.

Clare walked beside him, suddenly wrapping her hand around his, like they were lovers.

Harry’s eyes narrowed, feeling the soft sensation of the two large mounds on her chest pressing into his hand.

’She’s acting... strange.’ He thought, untangling her hand from his.

"Ohh... I-I’m sorry..." Clara said, her face flushed with embarrassment.

The other three students saw what happened, but nothing concerned them, so they minded their business.

’Probe...’ Harry thought, narrowing his eyes at Clara.

Immediately, a set of tabs appeared before him, and a strange glint flashed through his eyes.
