Manaless Mage-Chapter 287: Gaps in memories
Chapter 287: Gaps in memories
’Except... I didn’t manage to do that.’ Harry thought, his face darkening.
[Only a small amount managed to escape... a lot less than I expected. But you don’t have to worry, I doubt the celestials will be able to sense that.]
Harry’s expression darkened even more, his brows knitting into a frown.
’When you keep putting it like that... how the hell am I not supposed to worry?’ He thought, sighing as he rose back on his feet.
He had been lying on the ground for sometime now, and he was now starting to miss the warm comfort of his bed.
Today had been a mentally exhausting day for him, especially with all that had happened.
He needed a long comfortable rest, to fully relax his mind.
Though there were still some skills he hadn’t checked out, he decided to check them later, focusing on the matter of sleep for now.
He yawned, his eyes blinking tiredly as he slowly approached his bed.
However, as he passed by his mirror, he suddenly caught sight of something strange within his reflection, and his brows furrowed in confusion.
"Huh?" He muttered, halting in his steps before walking back to the mirror.
The moment he saw his reflection, his eyes widened in surprise.
He even took a second look just to be sure, but all that stared back at him was the same image as before.
He was gotten taller than before, standing at an height of 185cm. His facial features had gotten even more handsome, with a well-defined jawline and a pair of sharp eyes.
His body had also gotten more muscular, with a set of toned abs and well-sculpted muscles.
Nonetheless, what really surprised him wasn’t the increase in height or him becoming more handsome than before... it was the unfamiliar pair of eyes looking back at him! frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
His eyes, which he had always known to be pitch black in colour, were now glowing with dim blue hue.
A couple of ethereal white specks slowly swirled within his eyes, giving them a sharp, otherworldly beauty.
For a moment, he himself fell into a trace at the image of the glowing eyes reflecting back at him from the mirror.
"My... eyes..." He mumbled in shock, placing a hand over his right eye. "...they’re different."
’Is this also a part of the evolution?’ He thought, his brows knitting slightly.
With how much his stats, mainly his charm, had increased, the drastic change in his physical appearance wasn’t too surprising.
But what he didn’t expect was his eyes, which had now changed to a completely different colour.
The more he stared at the reflection, he noticed how his present eye colour looked very similar to his blue energy.
’They aren’t just similar... they’re the exact same!’ Harry thought, realising he could somewhat sense his energy oozing from his eyes.
[My eyes never changed colour... must be another thing unique to you and your energy.]
Leon said, sighing under his breath.
’Yeah... another thing that’s unique to me.’ Harry thought, his brows furrowing into a frown.
Going by Leon’s words, normal people wouldn’t be able to notice the strange glow of his eyes, nor the white dots swirling within them.
Since they couldn’t ’see’ or ’sense’ his energy, they would only notice the light blue colour.
’But still...’ Harry mumbled inwardly, clicking his tongue.

"Ugh..." Kronos grunted, feeling a sharp, sudden pain assault him from his chest.
He gasped in pain, tightly clutching his chest in a false hope to relief the pain.
But he knew better than that... nothing he did would reduce the waves of pain which kept wracking through his body.
It would only continue like this... forever and ever more.
He was standing in a large, ’empty’ room, with yellow runes plastered around the walls and ceilings.
Except for a few chairs arranged in a circular manner, and a large mirror which stretched in front of him, there was nothing else in the room.
"Manaless mage..." He mumbled, seething in rage as he stared at the mirror in front of him.
When he saw the reflection that looked back at him, his rage boiled even more, and his face darkened.
His face seemed to have aged over fifty years from what he remembered, developing more wrinkles around his forehead and cheeks.
His hair had turned a whiter shade of grey, with a few green streaks mixed in between.
The streaks of green were so few that they were barely noticeable, almost completely swallowed up by the grey hair.
Kronos slowly pulled one of the green strands, the memories of when his hair was lush and fully green replaying in his mind, filling his heart with bitterness.
’But why... why can’t I remember?’ He thought, barely holding back the urge to smash the mirror with his fist.
No matter how much he thought about it, he could only remember flashes about ’that incident’, especially the overwhelming sense of dread he had felt.
He could also remember a terrifyingly large amount of energy roaring above him, and the faint figure of a man shrouded in blazing white flame.
The strange man’s face was blurry, with no viable features except for the bright light brimming within his eyes.
However... he easily recognised that energy enveloping the man; it was that of a manaless mage!
"Huu..." He sucked in a cold breath, his expression suddenly changing to his usual indifferent one.
He resisted the stabbing pain in his chest, using all his willpower to ignore it despite it slowly sapping away his strength.
’Don’t forget... why you’re here.’ He thought, grabbing a small, yellow key from thin air.
Click!
Stepping away from the mirror, he suddenly stabbed the key into the air, twisting it like there was a door in front of him.
Swish!
A thin yellow line immediately appeared in front of him, trialing upwards until it formed the large, rectangular frame of a strange door.
There was nothing behind it—no room, objects, like it was just a useless door, leading to nowhere.
But Kronos knew the truth, having passed through his very door before, which was why he felt so nervous to step into it once more.
However, be braced himself for what was to come, twisting the crooked handle, before walking into the door.
The moment he walked into it, he simply vanished, without reappearing at the other end.
Swish!
The door frame remained standing for a few seconds, before slowly disintegrating, vanishing into thin air.
He didn’t know what happened for him to be having gaps in his memories... but he was going to find out.
He had to...
