Chapter 259: The counter to time element

’Time freeze!’ A sharp, green glint flashed within Leon’s eyes as he locked his gaze on the pale man before him.

Swoosh!

In a split second, a powerful green wave erupted from him, sweeping through the area like an unstoppable tide. Everything it touched, be it air, dust, and even the flickering flames in the air came to a complete stop.

Leon’s eyes narrowed at this, and he swiftly lunged towards the man, swinging his blade at his wide-open neck.

It didn’t matter how powerful his opponents, in front of his power, all their strength would be rendered useless.

His blade sliced through the air at rapid speed, the flame on it burning with even more intensity as it neared the man’s pale neck.

However, just as it was about to make contact, a thick black tear suddenly appeared in front of it, causing Leon’s eyes to widen in shock.

His instincts immediately screamed of danger, and Leon immediately retreated, retracting his blade in a flash.

’What?!’ He thought, swiftly leaping backwards, creating some distance between he and the strange ’tear’.

It was just as they say, the scariest thing sometimes was the unknown. Although he wanted to continue his attack, the strange black tear made him feel really wary, so he wisely retreated.

Apart from the tear, every other thing was still frozen, meaning that time in the surroundings was still very much frozen.

’What in the world is that?’ He wondered in shock, however, no one was there to give him a reply.

The tear in space rapidly widened, and within a few seconds, it had already reached a height of one meter.

Crack!

Thin cracks suddenly started appearing in the air in front of him, spreading from the tear like a broken glass.

Shatter!

Within moments , the very space around the pale man broke into pieces, like glass shattering under pressure.

As the shards disintegrated into thin air, the man stepped forward, his movements fluid, without bounded by the power of time freeze.

"Hahaha!" He then broke out in a loud laugh, the sound echoing off the frozen landscape.

"Is that the best you’ve got?!" He shouted, twirling his spear around him with skill.

"I kind of expected more! Manaless mage!!" He lips curled into a smug smirk, as he swiftly pointed the tip of the weapon back at Leon.

Leon could only watch with his face frozen, still shocked at how the man easily broke away from the hold of time freeze, one of his most powerful skills.

Seeing the expression on Leon’s face, the man scoffed under his breath, the smirk on his face widening in excitement.

"That’s the thing with you idiots with time element, always thinking you’re invincible, just because you can freeze and unfreeze time." He said, clicking his tongue in disappointment.

"As powerful as time is, it isn’t invincible. Hahahaha!" The man said, breaking out in another loud laugh.

"Ohh, and I never introduced myself did I? Well, I’m Vordmont, the god of space! Hahaha!" He shouted, laughing out loud once again.

"Ohh, I almost forgot." He suddenly muttered, stretching his hand towards the short celestial, who was still frozen beside him.

Crack!

Cracks rapidly appeared around her, and before long, the space around her shattered into pieces, freeing her from the hold of time freeze.

By manipulating the space around him, he could easily combat the effect of time freeze around him, therefore freeing himself from its power.

It was the main reason he was brought here. Time and space were two major things that determined the rule of the world around them.

Just as their elements could easily complement each other, they could also very much counter each other!

"Huh?" The woman mumbled, a bit taken aback by the sudden change around her.

However, she quickly understood what happened, turning to Leon with a mocking smile on her face.

"Fufufu... you really thought you could win that easily?" She said, covering her mouth in feigned surprise.

Her own name was Cieal, another powerful celestial, and the god of water.

"How are you going to deal with this now manaless mage, you really think you can defeat two celestials?!" Vordmont asked, a strange glint flashing through his eyes.

"You sure like the sound of your own voice don’t you?" Leon said, narrowing his eyes at the celestial.

"And I’ve already told you, stop calling me that." He continued, swiftly swinging his blades towards the opponents before him.

Swoosh!

Two powerful light slashes immediately shot from the sword, reaching the two of them in a split second.

However, a thick black tear instantly opened up in front of them, swallowing the two slashes, before closing back up.

As it closed, another spatial tear opened up behind Leon, suddenly sending the attack back at him.

’What?!’ Leon was shocked by what happened, but he still managed to react fast enough, swiftly moving to the side.

Bang!

The two slashes crashed into the ground instead, creating a huge crater on its surface. freewebnøvel.coɱ

’Damn it.’ He thought, gnashing his teeth in frustration.

With this new development, he was forced to see this fight in a new light, and his situation didn’t look good at all.

Although he had two other elements, time was still a huge aspect of his strength.

With the presence of the space celestial, he couldn’t end this fight as fast as he would like to.

Besides, this was the first time he was up against someone who could control space, so he was greatly lacking in experience.

His opponents on the other hand, had a lot of experience when facing people with time element, so they had come prepared beforehand.

Apart from that, there were two of them, and only one of him, leaving him at a huge disadvantage!

"What’s up? Aren’t you going to attack again?" Vordmont said, breaking him out of his thoughts.

Although he was able to break free from Leon’s skill, there was one thing he didn’t include in what he said earlier, and that was how difficult it had been for him.

Usually, a basic time spell like time freeze wouldn’t even work on him at all, however, the power of Leon’s energy made it possible.

’How scary... that energy.’ He thought, narrowing his eyes at the blonde haired man.
