Chapter 255: A strange place...

"So much power!" Harry exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock.

He hurriedly channeled his own mana, not holding anything back in preparation for his next attack.

Rumble!

The air around the violently trembled, as all the mana in the air was rapidly sucked towards the man.

Swooosh!!

The mana speedily gathered around him, forming a thick layer of mana around his body.

’All the mana is being drawn towards him... what a pain!’ Harry thought, gnashing his teeth in frustration.

With the man sucking all the ambient mana, there would be nothing left for him to use in powering his spells, putting him at a huge disadvantage!

Meanwhile, Leon’s brows furrowed at the strange ’fish-man’ in front of him, a strange glint flickering through his eyes.

’What he’s doing is a little similar to mana drain... but it’s not exactly the same also.’ He thought.

If anything, it was more similar to the technique used my grand mages, in which they boosted their spells with the mana around them.

However, it was over ten times more powerful!

"Die lowly being!!" The fish-creature suddenly shouted, charging towards Leon with a loud roar.

His hands were pulled back behind him, ready to deliver a powerful punch on the opponent in front of him.

’He really is strong...’ Leon thought, feeling the insane amount of power contained within that strike alone.

If he tried taking that attack head-on, he would end up dead for sure, even if he used all the defensive skill he currently had.

Within an instant, the man reached him, however, just as he was about to throw the punch, his whole body suddenly froze.

It wasn’t him though, everything within the vicinity came to a halt, from the ’fish-man’ to Harry, and even the people watching from below, bringing the whole place to a calm.

Although he didn’t plan on freezing Harry before, he eventually decided to, as the opponent standing in front of them would be too much for him to handle.

’Doesn’t matter how powerful you are, you can never beat me.’ Leon thought, stretching one of his fingers towards the strange man.

Swiish!!

A thin beam of light suddenly shot from his finger, piercing through the man’s chest immediately.

The thick layer of mana coating his body was easily torn through by the beam, almost as if it was made of foam.

The beam mercilessly stabbed through his heart, searing through his back before vanishing into the bright sky.

’That’s it, it’s over.’ Leon thought, however, the foreboding feeling within his mind didn’t reduce in the slightest.

Whoosh!

Time then returned to normal, and everything started moving like they were supposed to.

"Akhhh!!" The strange man suddenly grunted, halting his charge within the air.

Swoosh!!

A powerful breeze blew across the sky, violently fluttering Leon and Harry’s hair.

Despite not landing the punch, the mere shockwaves from the attack still managed to reach them, proving his powerful this strange man really was.

Spurt!

"W-what?" He muttered in confusion, thick blue blood spraying out of his lips.

The mana gathered around him rapidly returned back to the atmosphere, and the air stopped trembling.

The man’s face paled in complexion, and the scales on his body rapidly shrivelled up as life gradually left him.

"Y-you... you’re a time mage..." He muttered, weakly pointing his finger at Leon.

"So... that’s why you had so much confidence..." He said, breaking out into a dry chuckle.

He had broken into the planet not expected to meet a time mage this powerful. If only he had known, he would have been more careful before attacking.

Time mages were extremely dangerous, and their power was never to be underestimated, or else one would dearly pay the price.

Nonetheless, it was a little too late for regret now. All he could do was embrace the cold hands of death calling onto him.

Swooosh!!

After a few seconds, his life completely left him, and his body suddenly dropped, falling towards the earth at insane speed.

Despite being so powerful, he was killed by Leon in one move, without even getting the chance to say his name.

"Hmph." Leon snorted, swiftly summoning a thick ball of light over his body.

The light ball hovered in the air like a small moon, with the body of the dead ’fish-man’ encapsulated within it.

He couldn’t let his dead body drop to the ground from this height, as that would be very risky, especially with how fast he was falling.

"It’s over already...?" Harry muttered, his lips curling into a wry smile.

Heck he didn’t even see how Leon took him down. For him it was as if one minute the man was charging towards them, and on the next he stopped, with a bloody hole on his chest.

Before he could even grasp what was going on, the man was already falling down from the sky, his life gone from him.

’No matter how much I see that, that time element is freaking scary.’ He thought, sighing under his breath.

’Thank God I’m not his energy...’ He muttered inwardly, his gaze drifting back to the blonde haired man standing beside him.

"What’s up?" Leon asked when he saw the weird look Harry was giving him.

"You... gotta stop doing that. It takes the fun out of fights." Harry said, flying towards the ground.

"I was gearing up to fight that guy you know?" He said, letting out a light chuckle.

"I didn’t really have a choice... if I didn’t, something terrible would have happened." Leon replied, flying down along with Harry.

"I know..." Harry replied, sighing under his breath.

Apart from that, Leon didn’t enjoy dragging out his fights for too long, he preferred ending it all quickly, and fortunately for him, his abilities were the best for that.

Compared to himself from before, his time element had gotten a lot more powerful, and his control over time had also improved leaps and bounds.

For some reason, that incident that happened with Harry’s mother about fifteen years ago resurfaced in his mind.

That was the day he had his first encounter with a demon—the strange smoky face which had corrupted Harry’s mother.

Back then, the demon was able to easily break through time freeze due to his power over time being extremely weak.

Although he could still pause time, it had merely been on a surface level, meaning, someone with powerful mana could easily resist his power.

However, things were a lot different now. Despite that strange creature being so powerful, in the face of Leon’s power, it was rendered totally helpless.

The light ball floated beside him, while the people on the ground kept cheering loudly in excitement.

As expected of the most powerful mage on planet, he managed to take down such a powerful energy in one hit!

As long as he’s here, we’re saved. No one could ever defeat him.

Those were the thoughts that was on their minds, as their stared at the image of Leon flying down the sky.

Hearing the words coming out of their mouth, Leon felt somewhat weird, feeling that their expectations for him were a little too high.

However, while they were all celebrating, thinking they had won, there was still something bugging Leon’s mind.

Although he had already beaten the enemy, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of ease in his heart.

The major reason he took down that ’fish-man’ so fast, was to prevent anything bad from happened.

However, that strange feeling within him still hadn’t lessened, if anything, it only got stronger!

’I hate this...’ He thought, gnashing his teeth in annoyance.

Seeing the crowd ’waiting’ for them on the ground, the both of them didn’t even bother landing in their midst.

Instead, they flew away to another direction, hoping to meet back up with the others.

Swoosh!

However, while they flying, Leon suddenly disappeared, causing Harry’s eyes to widen in shock.

"L-Leon?!" He shouted, immediately halting his flight.

The light ball keeping the strange man’s body rapidly vanished into thin air, and the body started falling through the air, heading towards the ground once again.

Harry quickly supported the body with a flat fiery surface, preventing it from dropping to the ground.

’Did he go somewhere... no that’s not possible.’ Harry thought, staring at where Leon suddenly vanished.

They were supposed to go look for the others first, to see how they were holding up against the rifts opening up.

It wasn’t possible for Leon to just leave without telling him where he was going, that wasn’t the kind of person he was.

BWOOSH!!

’I need to first get back to the others! This is bad... very bad!’ Harry thought, greatly boosting his speed using a massive burst of flame from his wings.

As he moved through the air, only one thought occupied his mind.

’Where the hell did you go... Leon?’

Meanwhile...

’Where... am I?’ Leon thought, staring at his surroundings with a mix of shock and confusion.

Everything he could see around him were clocks, some large and some small, floating around the air.

Most of them looked very strange, displaying depictions of weird animals, with their figures written in strange languages.

Strangely enough, there was no ’ground’ in this place, just clocks moving around in the air.

The clocks were countless, making it seem like he was standing in an endless valley filled with nothing but clocks.

Sometimes, they would collide with each other, however, whenever they did so, they simply drifted to another direction.

He slowly turned his gaze downwards, and he subconsciously swallowed down a huge gulp as the sight of the strange clock his feet was standing on.

The hands of the clock looked very weird, as they were coiled around each other.

Even the figures around it were written in a strange language, coupled with its weird hands, it was very hard to tell what time the clock was supposed to tell.

’What is this place?’ Leon thought, his expression twisting into a deep frown.

The last thing he remembered was flying with Harry... then all of a sudden, he found himself here.
