Chapter 60 - Necromancy Magic, Activate.

Multiple explosions rang out as rockets and powerful magic blasted against the fortified barriers protecting the infirmary. The staff and students inside waited with bated breath as the room shook from the multiple points of impact. Teachers cursed as they kept watch all around them, searching for any sign of weakness in the walls or doors. Some of the students nearby screamed in fear and panic as their anxiety was giving way for fear and despair.

Gavin growled low and deep in his anger and frustration. He had enough of being trapped like a rat while others did the fighting. This wasn't and would never be him. He pushed himself off, away from the bed he was seated on. He stumbled forward a few steps before he caught himself. He pushed away Erza and the others as they tried to steady him. He wasn't going to accept anyone's help. He was going to start the counterattack that would end this god forsaken attack before any more lives were lost.

"Gavin, what in seven hells are you doing, you dumb, stubborn wolf?" Erza snapped at him as she grabbed his shirt collar. Her fury was palpable as she watched him push his body beyond normal limits. With the aftereffects of the overdrive skill still going through his body, he shouldn't be able to move let alone fight. Her eyes glowed brightly yellow, the iris now fully tinged red as she glared at her mate.

He turned to look at Erza, his own fury was ignited at his inability to act. His eyes were a deep red as he growled low and dangerous. Erza hesitated in her words. She knew he would never hurt her, but the look in his eyes was something else. He had the look of someone haunted by severe trauma. Helena and Jackson exchanged confused, worried glances as they stood by the side, ready to act if needed.

"Veronica, how many bodies are within range of the necromancy spells?" Gavin asked Veronica. He was going to do everything he could to finish this, save his people, and take as many of the bastards down as he could.

There was a moment of silence in his mind before Veronica's smooth quiet voice echoed through his mind. "Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Erick Lyons, several dozen bodies are currently within range of reanimation. With the mana points you have available, you should be able to summon them and have them do your bidding for quite some time," she informed him.

Gavin grinned as he forced his weak, tired body to shift into his were-wolf body. Fur, black as midnight manifested over his sore body as he assumed his powerful shifter form. Gasps came from all the students and several of the faculty members nearby as he shifted so suddenly, his piercing red eyes burning with intensity as he growled out.

Erza gritted her teeth as she watched her stubborn mate shift suddenly in front of her. She shook her head at his reckless abandon for his own safety. Jackson watched on with fascination as Gavin growled out low, the deep rumble felt in his very bones. This was so much different than his over shifts. Jackson felt something, deep in the pit of his stomach about it. Something was wrong.

Gavin threw his head back, looked up at the ceiling and let loose the most horrifying howl that anyone of them had ever heard. He amplified it with his available mana, the sound effecting every single person in the room. From the weakest student to even Professor Jane. All of them felt the most primal sort of fear enter their hearts. The kind of fear that screams at you to run as far and fast as you can. Never stopping. Never resting.

New skill unlocked. War howl, level 1. When the user activates this skill, it will have the same fear causing and paralyzing effects of Hunters Howl. The effects will be twice as powerful as the current level of Hunters Howl. Any nearby Pack members will also receive a boost of moral, increasing their stamina, strength and speed. Health and Mana will begin to rapidly regenerate from nearby Pack members. Usable only once per day.  Veronica's soft voice called out in Gavin's mind as he activated the new skill. The time for the pack to hunt was now.

Even Jackson, Helena and Erza felt a modicum of the effects. All of them stood, rooted to the spot as Gavin let loose his war howl. Each of them felt the fear enter their hearts, but it was accompanied by something else. A powerful, undeniable surge of energy and strength filled their bodies as they listened intently. Each of them felt the blood in their bodies burn with power as the effects of the War Howl was activated.

"What the hell?" Erza muttered in confusion as she felt the strength and energy growing in her body. Helena and Jackson looked to be affected the same way as she looked at them.

Erick actually took a step back from Gavin, not in fear or hatred, but in respectful apprehension. If Erick didn't know any better, he'd swear Gavin used the War howl that only Alpha pack leaders of the shifter clans were capable of using. Erick wasn't a pack leader himself yet so he didn't have access to that particular ability. But he'd seen it used often enough to recognize the signs among Gavin's pack mates.

"Relax lion, you are not what we hunt today," Gavin called out, noticing the man's movements. He had a different goal in mind.

"Veronica, target all possible bodies for reanimation. Begin the spells required for soul bondage and reanimation," Gavin requested from his AI partner. He was going to unleash hell upon the enemy forces and make one heck of a statement doing so. This institution was under his protection, his territory. These fools were about to understand that lesson, painfully clear.

"Order confirmed. All targets locked within range. Initiating the first spell, Soul Bondage. Veronica's cool words confirmed his orders.

Within a five-hundred-foot radius around Gavin, a bright red circle appeared underneath every single dead body on the ground, regardless of if it was a student, staff or enemy. Powerful waves of chaotic energy billowed out from each magic circle that appeared around the building. Screams of fear and horror filled the school as people from both sides of the fight stopped fighting each other, their eyes filled with horror locked on the events around them.

Chaotic swirls of mana and waves of power filled the building as Gavin's spell began its marvelous work. The very arena itself began to shake from the power of Gavin's rage and magic. Gavin's body should have already collapsed after just activating this spell. But his willpower and pure hatred was fueling his body to act even when it shouldn't. He would suffer the consequences of force activation later. Right now, he had a war to wage.
