Mage Manual-Chapter 564 - 457: Finding One’s Place
Chapter 564: Chapter 457: Finding One’s Place
Void Realm, Time Continent.
Sonia’s eyes snapped open, and she excitedly turned her head to speak, "Tonight I—"
She immediately shut her mouth.
In her view, the Observer was seated in the back, with the Witch astride him; the two were nearly wrapped in each other’s arms.
"Eh? Why is it like this again tonight? Observer, Sister White told me to ask, are you doing this on purpose?"
"It’s definitely a teleportation error, probably issues with everyone squeezing through the Gate of Truth together. If you don’t believe me, ask Sword Maiden; nothing like this ever happened when I was with her in the Sea of Knowledge!"
The Witch turned to look at Sonia, "Is that true, Sword Maiden?"
Sonia said, "Witch, can you first get off the Observer?"
"Oh, oh!"
During these days, when they entered the Void Realm, such situations would occur occasionally: the Observer and the Witch’s bodies overlapping. Sometimes the Witch would be clinging to the side, sometimes lying on his thighs; there were all sorts of messy poses.
Actually, Sonia could understand these situations to some extent. After all, teleporting three Mages together, a tiny error was quite normal. Yet, two people ending up stacked on top of each other wasn’t even really a mistake.
But the problem was, why was she always just watching from the side?
Errors should be non-discriminatory!
"By the way, Sword Maiden, what were you about to say?" Ash returned to the front seat and asked, "I remember you have a Meteor Disaster tonight?"
"Yes." Sonia nodded, suddenly feeling a bit lackluster, "Won the quarter-finals. The final contestant has to compete against me in Miracle, but it looks like they have only Gold Half-wing level Magic Power."
Diya couldn’t help but chuckle, "Doesn’t that mean you’re just bullying them, Sword Maiden?"
With the sports car and various absorption speed boosts from the ’Alchemy Throne,’ Ash and his group’s Golden Wings were nearly at Full Wing. Plus, they had the Golden Fish Poison, which allowed them to convert silver Magic Power into Gold Magic Power; their magic gauge was already longer than that of ordinary Mages.
"Witch, how did you suddenly get your hands on the Golden Fish Poison?" Ash flipped through the operator directory, "Did you get it today?"
"Yes!" Diya nodded emphatically, "A lot happened today, and then I suddenly believed you guys really saw the golden fish. Oh, Sword Maiden, can you teach me how to seduce men?"
The president of the Claw Club blinked, facing Diya’s earnest gaze, and asked curiously, "Can’t you ask your sisters?"
"They just think differently from me, but our knowledge is the same. What I know, they know; the reverse is true too," Diya said. "Little Black told me that at a glance, you’re the kind of woman who’s really good at playing men and that I should learn more from you!"
Sonia glanced at Ash, who was driving, and shook her head, "No, I’ve never been in love."
Ash looked up at the sky where the Golden Rain in reverse was more dazzling than before, "Tonight’s Golden Rain is even brighter than before, like a certain someone."
Sonia said, "However, I can teach you some small tricks about conversation that might make it easier for someone to take a liking to you. What’s the person like?"
(">▽
"I get it, essentially someone you like down to your bones," Sonia rolled her eyes, then pulled Diya aside to whisper.
Initially, she had planned to boast about the quarter-finals Meteor Disaster tonight, but on second thought, she didn’t win first place, and although this time the Meteor Disaster battle was the toughest, they couldn’t see it, and she couldn’t make them understand just how thrilling her fight was using words alone.
Moreover, the Observer wouldn’t praise her anyway...
As if he noticed the Sword Maiden’s gaze, Ash added, "I ate a small cake a few days ago, dipped in cream and honey. It was so sweet my heart melted, reminding me of someone."
Eat, eat, eat, that’s all he knows!
After teaching a few tricks for flirting with men, Sonia looked at the tuft of Diya’s hair sticking up and couldn’t help but laugh, "Are you very happy today?"
"Yes!"
"Something good happened?"
Diya blinked and shook her head, "Not exactly something good."
"So, what’s making you happy is that person you like?" Sonia asked with a smile, "The one you get to kiss and hug every day?"
"Hehe (*≧▽≦*)." Diya blushed and cuddled Sonia, "I kiss and hug the Sword Maiden every day."
The Witch was indeed very happy, because due to the Assassination List, Hanna dared not let Banjee go out alone. After all, there were already precedents, with Roger and Helaphis being targeted for assassination by the Yisu royal family to fulfill a future from the Weaving Festival. If Banjee were still to act alone, Hanna might end up seeing his demise in the news.
Since Banjee couldn’t leave, there was no need for Liss to leave either. After all, besides Ash, no one else cared about her life and death. Ash mentioned only in passing that Liss should stay, and although Igula seemed to have some objections, Hanna immediately agreed.
The rest was simple: on the day of the action, she’d accompany Ash to the Tower to rescue Nina, the Weaving Festival would end, and she would be able to restore her true body through the trial of the Bronze Dragon, and then... she could be with Ash...
Sonia looked at Diya’s happiness radiating from every hair on her head and couldn’t help but feel her own mood lift.
Ash, as if trying to make idle chatter, said, "I’ve seen a river laden with starlight, as if the night sky were flowing in the water, both brilliant and dreamy, like someone’s dreams were streaming within it."
Does the Observer really want to join our conversation that badly? Sonia gave him a curious glance, but because of the scene when she first came in, she didn’t feel much like interacting with him.
A moment later, the sports car stopped in front of a mine entrance, and Ash said, "Inside there’s a group of Fish-Slicing Dragons, probably including the dominant creature, the Violent Slash Dragon, but we’ll have to lure them out first..."
"Let me do it!" Diya couldn’t wait to jump out of the car, eager to share her joy with the Fish-Slicing Dragons, crashing into the Rain Curtain like a child.
Once the Witch left, Sonia’s expression immediately fell, slowly getting out of the car without giving Ash a single glance. Ash asked in bewilderment, "Why has your mood gotten worse?"
"It’s none of your business."
"I’ve done as you asked, you can’t take your anger out on me!"
"What request?" the Claw Club president glared at him sidelong.
"To praise you!" Ash said, "When I heard you won the quarterfinals, didn’t I praise you right away?"
"No way!"
"Really, I did. Just because the Witch was there, I had to be a bit more circumspect."
"Circumspect?"
"Mhm." Ash nodded earnestly, "The dazzling reverse Golden Rain, a cake dipped in cream and honey, a long river full of starlight..."
"I described you with the most wonderful things in the world. You have to learn to match them to yourself."
