Chapter 370: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Two Lakeside_2

Little Soka also flew down from the sky, imitating Zilvra’s way of gliding to lie on the grass. However, the little one’s flying skills weren’t quite up to par yet, leaving a track on the ground before she stopped. But many lovely little flowers, red, yellow, and white, along with the emerald green grass leaves, were left in her golden hair and on her white wings, making her look like an elf from a sea of flowers.

Nimo, Deluo, Felps, and those two ladies also climbed to the hilltop. They were the companions who had left Dwarf City. After more than half-a-month of trekking, sunlight finally embraced them; the pure air and free breathing were their greatest rewards now.

Tears lined Zilvra’s eyes; she didn’t know if it was due to excitement or her light-sensitive Drow bloodline. But the boundless blue of the sky and the slowly drifting white clouds never seemed enough for her to gaze upon. Though unlike Soka, she couldn’t fly in this free sky, Zilvra’s soul had already soared among the clouds, riding the wind, unrestrained.

"It’s really comfortable!" Soka took out a fruit from her pocket, lying on the grass to eat. According to her appetite, she had already finished the stock of fruits on the road; this last one, she saved specially to eat when returning to the ground.

Zilvra’s clothes started to smoke, even wisps of smoke rose from her chainmail. Dark Elf items cannot persist under sunlight, they would be destroyed upon reaching the surface. Yet these things did not disturb Zilvra in the slightest; she remained motionless, gazing at the azure sky, unwilling to take her eyes off even for a moment.

Lynch’s robe also began to change, with small holes appearing at the edges. The mage lifted a silver Light Sphere in his left hand; the power of the Magic Origin instantly washed away the original dark elf magic power. Though the robe no longer had any spell effects, it could now shield the body in sunlight.

He walked to Zilvra’s side: "Your gear is about to be damaged, do you need some help?" The lips of the female Drow trembled slightly, but she said nothing. Her focus was now entirely on the blue sky and white clouds, unaware of anything else. Even though her eyes were being painfully pierced by the brightness, she couldn’t bear to miss a single glance at the scenery.

Lynch placed his hand on Zilvra’s stomach, the soft touch carrying the warmth of the Dark Elf from his palm. The mage focused his mind, stopping all distractions, and began the cautious task of energy transmission and repair.

After a little while, he lifted his hand. Though Zilvra’s clothes were still somewhat tattered, they would no longer turn to ashes in the sunlight, lasting until the next town. Lynch looked at Zilvra’s reddened eyes, wiping the tears from her cheek with his fingers, and said: "Zilvra, stop staring at the bright light, your eyes can’t handle such a drastic change."

Among everyone, only Lynch’s Eye of Insight and Soka’s Angel Eyes could rapidly adapt to the change from underground darkness to bright daylight. The others were constantly rubbing their eyes now, the aching and numb sensation making it hard to endure.

Zilvra only reacted slightly when the mage’s fingers touched her cheek, shaking her head, still keeping her eyes wide open. "Don’t mind me, I’m fine now. It’s just so wonderful."

Soka finished her fruit, carefully picking the flowers from her body, gathering them into a handful, and placing them under Zilvra’s nose. The female Drow sneezed, finally sitting up.

"Sister Zilvra, these are for you!" Soka gave her the flowers, then flew up into the sky again. However, this time she hovered mid-air, looking around, then pointed into the distance and shouted: "Black robe brother, there’s a big lake over there, let’s go have a look!"

"Got it!" Lynch still stayed by Zilvra’s side. Deluo and the others gradually adapted to the light, slowly heading down the slope.

"Lynch!" Zilvra suddenly said: "I can’t see anything. It’s all a vast whiteness!" The female Drow, with her memory, grabbed the mage’s robe: "What’s going on? What should I do."

Lynch pulled her up from the ground: "This is because you’re not used to this brightness; after all, you still have the Dark Elf bloodline in you, the sun will harm you." The mage tore a strip of black cloth from the edge of his robe, tying it around Zilvra’s eyes: "Your eyes will recover after a while. In the future, try not to look at bright objects for long periods; you need to adapt slowly, don’t rush it."
