The undead appearing in front of Lynch and Kuboert were essentially the higher-ups of the Undead Clan. They weren’t like the skeletons or zombies, who could only act on instinct. These undead had their own intelligence, they could think and learn, growing stronger with each battle.

These guys, having endless time to squander, became increasingly terrifying. When facing these entities, one had to concentrate fully to keep their life intact.

Although Kuboert was a Priest skilled in dispersing undead, he had only ever dealt with some ghosts or vampires. He had no experience with high-level undead like the Skeleton Naga. That creature was about three meters long, essentially constructed from a giant snake’s skeleton, but with a bizarre human skull for a head. A pair of massive blue poison fangs jut out horizontally from the skull’s front, ready at any moment to let its enemies taste pain. However, regarding it as a simple poisonous snake corpse would be a grave mistake, as cold, cruel light burned within its eye sockets, occasionally flashing with evil wisdom. Skeleton Naga could cast spells, even more proficiently than some mages who had studied magic for years. This monster had learned to perceive the power of magic in the Undead World, and for them, spells were a natural attack method.

Kuboert had read about the glorious deeds of past priests in the records of the Pate Temple, including stories of those who sacrificed their lives to destroy the Skeleton Naga. In those records, it took ten high-level priests working together to finally subdue such an undead creature, but now there were only two people facing the Skeleton Naga.

For Lynch, that serpentine monster wasn’t too difficult to deal with. Speaking of spellcasting, the young mage who had mastered the Magic Origin Power did not fear these undead—they only reached the level of a magician, with no real study of the arcane. While Kuboert’s gaze was focused on the Skeleton Naga, his eyes were fixed on the largest undead there—the Sword Bone Demon.

The Sword Bone Demon was the opposite of the Skeleton Naga, concentrating all its strength on melee combat. For its enemies, it preferred tearing them apart piece by piece over burning them to ashes. Each protruding joint of its body became thin, long, and incredibly sharp. Taking advantage of this, the Sword Bone Demon honed these joints to razor-sharp edges, leaving huge wounds wherever they cut. But the most terrifying were its hands, with each finger nearly a meter long, sharp as a spear, capable of slashing like a machete. Lynch had to constantly maintain a distance from this creature to avoid being cut while concentrating on casting spells.

The Sword Bone Demon acted first, striding over the puddle in front of it with its slender legs, charging at the two obstructing its path with speed unbefitting its massive form. Simultaneously, the Skeleton Naga gathered a green glow in its mouth, suggesting the spell was either a Poison Arrow or an Acid Arrow.

Kuboert instinctively took half a step back, then suddenly became alert, standing back beside Lynch. The first time encountering such a monster, anyone would naturally feel intimidated—except for those fanatic Paladins. Not immediately turning to flee, maintaining his fighting spirit under the fear-inducing aura of the Devourer, earned Lynch a glance of approval towards Kuboert.

Simultaneously, the Mage waved the Powerful Wand, erecting a force field wall in front of them.

Like other undead, the Sword Bone Demon couldn’t perceive the barrier ahead, crashing right into it. However, its enormous size and continued pummeling made wave after wave ripple across the transparent wall. It took only five attacks for the force field wall to collapse. Just then, the Skeleton Naga’s Poison Arrow also shot forth, heading straight for Priest Kuboert’s chest. Although Fyyian had instructed these undead to deal with Lynch, the aura of the "Sun God Priest" on Kuboert made these undead despise him, and he instantly became the main target of attack.

The inexperienced Pate Priest suddenly found his mind a blank, unable to decide how to evade the impending attack. It was as if a thousand ideas flooded his mind, yet he couldn’t grasp a single one to take action.

When the Poison Arrow was less than five meters away, Lynch kicked the Priest on the butt, knocking him to the ground. Although Kuboert’s head plunged into a puddle in the Residual Star Swamp, the three Poison Arrows grazed past his protruding rear and flew away.

"What kind of Elf Armor is this, even has protection on the butt?" Lynch endured the throbbing pain in his toes, using an Ice Cone to freeze the Sword Bone Demon’s feet firmly into the swamp water here.

With cold water on his face, Priest Kuboert snapped back to reality. He jumped to his feet, not glancing at Lynch, instead plunging directly into the battle. Only now did Kuboert truly take on his role.

"Pate Bright Flame Strike!" He raised the Holy Emblem of the Sun God high, drawing down the holy fire from the heavens, accurately striking the Devourer. Compared to the other monsters reduced to just skeletons, the Devourer, with its remaining flesh, was undoubtedly a better fire-catching material.

The Sword Bone Demon vigorously flailed its legs, striving to free itself from the ice. With its immense strength, it was only a matter of time. However, from the beginning, Lynch hadn’t planned to trap the Sword Bone Demon like this; he had been waiting for that moment when the giant creature’s legs were utterly immobile.

Lightning Cone! Lynch seized this moment to accurately target the creature’s knees, consciously directing the lightning there. Although skeletal undead have a considerable resistance against lightning damage, some creatures—like the terrifying Witch Demon—are entirely immune to such attacks. But what the Mage aimed to do was leverage the explosive power of his lightning to attack the gaps in their bone joints.

Despite being as solid and sharp as a sword all over, the critical joints of the Sword Bone Demon were still rounded bone shapes. No matter how focused it was on refining its bone blades, it couldn’t turn those areas into flat surfaces—unless it never wished to move again.

Lynch’s lightning flew into the knee joint of the Sword Bone Demon, causing an explosion there. The powerful airflow forcefully separated two pieces of bone, accompanied by exploding bone splinters breaking completely.

The one-legged Sword Bone Demon tried to stand up, but its intellect couldn’t match the speed of the Skeleton Naga’s mind; it was a while before it puzzled out how to balance on one leg. Even if it stood, it couldn’t imminently grasp a "One-legged Jumping Technique," so its threat level had already been significantly reduced.

The Skeleton Naga let out a shout, swimming over to support and simultaneously gathering magic power. The Devourer was now struggling painfully in the swamp—if it even possessed such senses—futilely attempting to extinguish the white flames on its body. Meanwhile, the Sword Bone Demon, like a drunk dwarf, couldn’t be toppled no matter how pushed, yet stable standing was equally unfeasible.

A green ray of light flashed towards Lynch’s body, catching the instant just after Lynch had released his lightning. Casting a spell requires appropriate materials and incantations; it’s not something that can unleash power merely by thinking it. The moment after using a spell, a Mage is at their weakest, with little defensive capability.

Fyyian had full confidence in his "Death Finger," having waited a long time for the opportunity to attack, combined with his Elf Shooter-like aiming skills. All that filled the Destroyer’s mind was the young Mage’s pained wails and his demise.

Yet in the blink of an eye—or perhaps quicker, Lynch and Kuboert had already moved five steps away from their previous spot to a clear space.
