Xavier's muscles tensed as the surge of power ran through his veins like fire.

[War Buff Activated]

His breathing steadied, and the tremble in his hands vanished. The pain that had been feeling in his arms dulled to nothing.

All his senses cleared simultaneously. The heaviness in his arms disappeared as his body felt lighter, his sense sharper and he had laser focus.

Tiger noticed the change instantly, his eyes narrowing as he noticed something different about Xavier's body.

"Ohh, something is different right?" he asked, cracking his knuckles again, his voice still carrying that wild excitement. "This might actually be fun."

Xavier didn't answer. He didn't need to.

He moved.

In a blink, he appeared right in front of Tiger, and the sound of their clash echoed through the battlefield.

*Clang!*

Tiger's gauntlets met Xavier's sword in a metallic crash, but Xavier didn't yield this time. His feet remained planted, his stance firm, and his eyes didn't waver.

Tiger was shocked by his sudden burst of speed, initially Tiger was the one faster but now it was Xavier.

Xavier moved again and Tiger raised his gauntlet again to block but he was too slow and Xavier switched to the left side.

Tiger noticed his movement too late and also changed his stance stepped backwards as he tried to block Xavier's attack.

That single hesitation was all Xavier needed, but instead of attacking Xavier spoke.

Spinning sideways, Xavier pivoted and cut, his sword flashing through the air with precision.

Tiger barely had time to turn to get his arm to the other side but he did, but the blade bit cleanly along the edge of his gauntlet and bit deep into his arm.

"Gah!" Tiger grunted and swing his hands causing Xavier to jump back. freёweɓnovel.com

Tiger also moved backward a little, "You're faster now," he muttered with a scowl, his voice low and irritated, he couldn't believe the Xavier he thought he could be at easily was actually faster than him.

"No," Xavier replied coldly. "You're just slower than me now."

His [War Buff] was an increase in all his stats, when he used it against Mirabel, the changes were minimal but now that his stats had increased, he could clearly see.

At the moment he thought of nothing else other than killing Tiger, he couldn't afford to think about Sylve now that the battle had started, but in his mind he hope she doesn't die before he kills Tiger.

Tiger roared in frustration and lunged forward, his fists blurring as he unleashed a relentless barrage of punches.

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

The ground beneath them cracked and tore under the force of their motion.

Xavier didn't hesitate for a second as he weave through the attack, blocked, parried, and slipped a blow of his own through.

A counterattack swept across the chest of Tiger, laying open another thin line of blood, but Xavier never stopped.

His sword cut through the air with precision, every swing and slash timed to perfection. He stayed close to Tiger's heels, following up the attack, pushing him backward with every exchange.

The sound of metal on metal rang through the air.

*Clang! Slash! Crack!*

Every blow Xavier landed chipped away at Tiger's defense, gradually weakening him. His cuts were not deep but were incessant—a never-ending storm of pain.

Each time his blade draw a bit of blood it increases in strength a little.

Eventually, Tiger jumped back with a grunt, finally creating some distance between them.

"I've had enough!" he growled, raising his fists as they began to glow with a deep crimson energy. The ground beneath him trembled, and with a shout, he slammed both fists together.

Xavier immediately infuse his entire body with Mana, he was waiting for Tiger to use the power of his gauntlet and this was it.

In a burst of power, he launched himself toward Xavier like a missile, the sand erupting in his wake.

Xavier didn't flinch, he wanted to but he was so focused his body didn't move.

He planted his feet, took a deep breath, and raised his sword.

Tiger came down with two fists closed over his head, looking to crush Xavier with raw power.

*BOOM!*

Dust exploded out, and for a moment, everything was lost in the cloud. But when the dust cleared, Xavier still stood. He had taken the hit with his sword raised, his arms trembling beneath the impact—but he did not fall.

Instead, he drove his foot forward and kicked Tiger in the gut. Tiger grunted and stumbled back.

Before Tiger landed his attack Xavier created a barrier in front of himself and timed the attack and as soon as Tiger's fists connected with the barrier he swung his sword, there was a tiny delay so Xavier was the one that hit Tiger's gauntlet first and deflected the blow.

Xavier stepped forward without hesitation, his sword slashing across Tiger's chest and leaving a deep, bloody wound before Tiger could dodge.

Tiger cursed and fell back again, blood soaking through his shirt, but he remained on his feet.

"I'm not done!" he yelled defiantly, charging once more.

He swung his fist with everything he had left.

But Xavier was faster and with all the tiny wounds on Tiger's body slowed him down.

He swayed to the side, letting the punch glide safely past his cheek, and struck back with a clear slash across Tiger's ribs. The sword bit through flesh and muscle easily, and blood sprayed out onto the dirt.

Tiger grunted and staggered, his strength finally beginning to falter as he looked at Xavier, he knew the battle wasn't going in his favor anymore and was now looking to dash towards Dragonborn but Xavier didn't give him time to recover.

He closed in again, his body low, and swung his sword up in a single flowing motion.

*Slice!,

The sword tore from Tiger's hip to his shoulder, and he dropped to a knee, gasping for breath. Blood poured from his wounds, pooling on the ground around him.

"You bastard, what did you do" Tiger growled, his chest rising and falling with each pained breath.

Xavier stopped a few feet back, his sword point on the ground and he didn't reply.

In a final desperate attempt, Tiger tried to throw another punch. It was slow, clumsy.

Xavier merely sidestepped and raised his sword over his head.

"Farewell," he breathed, his eyes focused and all his energy placed on a swing.

The sword came down in a clean arc.

*SHHK!*

Tiger's head fell to the side, and his body thudded to the earth with a muffled crunch. Blood poured into the ground, staining it red.
