"If we dueled right now, who do you think would win?" Crystal asked, a playful challenge glinting in her eyes.

"Oh, I’d win, of course. You’re not the only one who’s been training," Ethan muttered.

"When did you have time to train?" Isabella piped up.

"A secret. But trust me, I wish I could join you girls in the tournament. But If I did, I’d win first place, so I should probably let you enjoy your... mating privileges," Ethan said with a sly grin.

"Mating privileges? Please, we’d reject that immediately," Isabella shot back, her tone firm.

"Yeah, why would we need a male when you’re around?" Hannah added. "Though I’m sure you won’t be sticking around for the mating season."

"I might not be here, but that doesn’t mean I can’t visit in secret," Ethan replied.

"Have you figured out where they’re sending you next? Is it a small village, the capital, or maybe another kingdom?" Crystal asked.

"Here in the capital, I think," Ethan mumbled, he didn’t want them to know he was going to the Royal palace.

"Ethan, let’s spar," Isabella suddenly suggested with a gleam in her eyes.

"Really? Are you preparing for tomorrow or something?"

"Let’s make it three," Crystal spoke, "That would be interesting"

"That’s cheating! You girls would gang up on me first and then just leave each other alone," Ethan spoke.

"What if I join your team?" Hannah chimed in.

"Why are you forming teams?" a voice called out, and Ethan turned to see Freya and Martha approaching.

"We’re going to duel," Crystal explained. "You want in? We’re practicing for the free-for-all tomorrow. I’ve never fought in a battle like that before."

"Ethan, how are you feeling? I heard you came to check on me," Freya said, her voice soft but filled with curiosity.

"He came to check on me, not you!" Martha cut in before Ethan could respond. "After checking on me, he asked about you," she added, smirking.

"I came to check on both of you," Ethan clarified quickly. "And if we want to duel in a free-for-all, we should use the dueling arena. We’ll avoid injuries that way since Miss Dora isn’t around"

With that, they all began making their way to the arena, though Martha and Freya continued their bickering. As they whispered back and forth, Martha told Freya about what they did while the girls were in the tournament.

"Just watch me after we finish training. You think you’re the only one who can give him what he wants?" Freya muttered to Martha, her eyes narrowing.

When they finally arrived at the arena, they noticed more girls had joined them: Edith, Mabel, and Mary were all there, waiting with eager smiles.

"Should we set some rules?" Isabella asked, looking around at the group.

"I have a rule," Mabel said, stepping forward. Everyone turned to her, curious to hear what she had to say. "No protecting him," she said firmly, pointing directly at Ethan.

"Okay, another rule," Ethan added, trying to keep things fair. "Once your back touches the ground, you’re eliminated, even if no one hits you."

"It’s a free-for-all, so no teams," Isabella declared. "We can team up tomorrow, but for today, it’s just for practice."

"I’ll be the moderator!" Martha announced cheerfully. "I’ll decide who gets eliminated. Fair and square!"

"No cheating," Freya quickly added, shooting Martha a suspicious glance.

"And no assistance," Edith threw in for good measure.

"Wow, so many rules. Martha, what’s the first rule?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Hey! I’m just the moderator! I’m not part of this," Martha said, throwing her hands up in mock defense.

"Oh, and Isabella," Ethan added, pointing at her. "You can’t use your Ice Goddess armor. Save it for tomorrow, but not today."

"Afraid I’ll come after you first?" Isabella teased with a chuckle.

"Of course, but then I’ll have to eliminate you first, and you’ll be angry later," Ethan added.

"I think the rules are okay," Isabella spoke; she already had her first target.

The group quickly settled into their positions around the arena. Ethan stretched his arms and neck, trying to loosen up for what was sure to be a chaotic battle, he was going to test his spells against the girls

"I’m ready when you are," Ethan called out, flashing a grin.

Martha stood outside of the arena, raising her hand to start the match. "Okay, on my count: three, two, one... go!"

’Shit...’ Ethan mouthed as three different spells were shot toward him immediately after the battle started.

[Advance Barrier]

Ethan quickly created a barrier blocking the spells and he had the perfect spell in his mind.

[Chain lightning]

Ethan stretched his hands and shot out his lightning spell but the girls were all way ahead of him since Edith had the same lightning spell.

Different spells were thrown around, and finally, Mary was the first one to be eliminated; she blocked Freya’s flame spell, but it pushed her back, and she fell to the ground.

"You’re out!" Martha shouted, but the battle immediately continued and lasted for some minutes before only four of them were left.

Ethan, Edith, Isabella, and Hannah, but of course, Ethan was the next to go as Hannah used a trick on him when he was distracted by Isabella, who was attacking him head-on.

And ultimately Hannah won after an intense battle between the three girls.
