The head of the salamander rolled to the ground, and the body fell with a loud thud, but the damage had already been done; the salamander had destroyed the cave entrance, so Ethan wouldn’t be able to leave.

But Ethan didn’t care as he knew he could leave whenever he wanted; all he had to do was move close to the center of the cave and call Hannah to take him back, but what he didn’t understand was why the salamander didn’t want Ethan to leave.

Ethan walked around the cave examining the walls and everything else; he was looking for a secret door or anything leading to treasure, but he found nothing and walked towards where the salamander lay, and his jaws dropped.

A shiny red egg was in front of him; before it was hidden behind a rock, so Ethan had no idea it was there. The egg had a red shimmering scale, and he now understood where the salamander trapped him.

’So this was what it was trying to protect’

Ethan bent down and picked the egg from the ground; surprisingly, it wasn’t giving off any heat.

After some seconds, a portal opened, and Hannah stepped inside the cave.

"A cave in the forest; you shouldn’t go close to the crystal," Ethan muttered as Hannah walked towards the crystal to admire it.

"Uhmm... Hannah, I think you should take a look at your back," Ethan spoke, and Hannah turned around.

All her tails were in full display, and even her ears were out; her white skin began to change to light brown, and soon, she was a complete fox girl with no tails.

"Why did I transform?"

"It’s the crystal; it disrupts magic, but you look really beautiful; I don’t think I’ve seen anyone as majestic as you right now," Ethan spoke as a smile formed on Hannah’s face.

"Stop teasing me" Hannah replied.

"You know, we don’t have to return immediately" Ethan smirked.
