Lunar Legacy: Rise Of The Beastlord-Chapter 136: Level 10
Chapter 136: Level 10
Jayden crouched on a high branch, scanning the ground below. A pack of F-Rank Howlers padded through the woods, heads low, grunting to each other in rhythmic calls.
Jayden grinned. Then with one breath held—pop.. he was gone.
FOOSH!
He dropped from the treetops like a hawk, blade crossing mid-air.
SCHHH—TSSHHH!
Two Howlers fell before they even knew he was there. Their throats opened like ripe fruit.
A third turned, growling in panic—only to see nothing.
A dash. A blink. A blur.
Jayden’s dagger slipped between its ribs, straight to the heart. The beast dropped with a thud, twitching.
Blood soaked the roots. Leaves fluttered from the sudden gust of motion.
The Dash Skill built into the dagger made him twice as deadly. Every slash came with a lunge so fast it looked like teleportation. And with his new invisibility... it was unfair.
Merciless. Precise. Brutal.
And this was exactly what he was going for.
Jayden knew the beasts of the forest wouldn’t fight him willingly. After defeating the Winter wolf in the duel, they considered him the new Alpha of the forest.
But with his invisibility, they wouldn’t even get a chance to see him before getting killed.
By the time the hour passed, the forest was in mourning of beasts. Forty in total... twenty F-Ranks and ten E-Ranks. Each one had died swiftly and painlessly.
Jayden wasn’t just a hunter anymore.
He was an apex predator.
Jayden dropped onto a thick tree branch and leaned back against the bark, exhaling hard.
He pulled a water bottle from his inventory and took several deep gulps, his chest still heaving, the blood on his hands now drying and caked.
He wiped his face with his sleeve.
His body buzzed with raw energy from leveling up, his limbs slightly sore, but in that satisfying, earned kind of way. He had also made sure to store the corpses of the 10 E-Rank beasts he’d killed.
His eyes was fixed on the notification he’d received from the system.
[You have received 700 exp in total]
[Congratulations, you have leveled up]
[+2 stat points has been added to all stats]
[Hp: 480 >> 500]
[Ep: 200 >> 250]
[Shop has been unlocked]
[You have received 10 Shop points]
[You have received one (1) Beast Integration slot]
Jayden was filled with excitement after reading the messages. But deep down, he was still a bit dissapointed.
He had just entered level ten and he thought that would come with a new skill or ability. But he was wrong. All he got was the normal increase in stat along with the availability of the Shop tab.
With a forced motivation, he opened the shop tab. He remained sitted on the tree branch, exploring through all the things the system had to offer.
And once again, he was dissapointed.
The shop only contained basic items like stamina and health recovery potions. The weapon and artifact section were greyed out along with the armour and general items section. Which meant he didn’t have access to them yet.
With a frustrated groan, he closed the system’s interface and stared into the forest, scanning every treeline and underbush for his next prey.
Then something caught his eye.
In the distance, hidden behind a curtain of moss-covered trees and twisted vines, was a glint of silver. His sharp, beast-enhanced eyes narrowed in.
A large, metallic structure sat there, half-buried by foliage and time. Like a fallen relic from another era.
Jayden’s curiosity flared like a spark in dry leaves. He leapt.. tree to tree, light on his feet, like a shadow cutting through the canopy.
As he landed near the object, he saw it more clearly now: a massive industrial container, shaped like a shipping crate but reinforced with thick alloy plating. Easily the size of a small building. It was dented and rusted in parts, but still intact.
"Looks like it crash-landed here," he muttered, brushing his palm across its rough, icy-cold surface.
The faded logo on the side was unreadable. No power source. No sounds. Just silence.
He reached for the heavy latch... and pulled.
With a long hiss of old pressure valves, the container creaked open—
Empty.
Jayden blinked.
"What the hell?"
Not even a crate of beast crystals. Not a bone. Not even a cobweb inside.
"All that effort just for this?" he seethed in frustration. Another thing had managed to betray his expectations.
A low, sharp grunt escaped his lips as he curled his fist... and punched the metal wall.
BOOM!
The sound echoed like a mini explosion.
To his shock, the dense alloy wall bent. Not a dent. Not a scratch—it caved in. Like a soda can crushed underfoot.
Jayden stared at his fist, stunned. That shouldn’t have been possible. Not even with his current strength level. This was too much power.
Then a wild idea hit him.
He turned to the base of the container and crouched, planting both hands beneath the solid steel edge. His fingers dug into the jagged seams where rust and dirt had fused it with the earth.
He inhaled.
His muscles bulged beneath his shirt. Veins crawled across his arms like steel cables.
With a grunt, he began to lift.
"NNNNNGHH—!"
The container groaned and creaked. Dust poured from its base as it slowly shifted.
Jayden’s knees trembled. Every fiber of muscle in his body lit up like a firestorm. His eyes clenched shut. Teeth bared. Sweat poured down his temples.
He roared, driving strength from his core—and with a final, straining push, he lifted the entire container off the ground and over his head.
Then.. he tossed it sideways with a metallic CRASH as it slammed against the ground, sliding and tearing into the earth.
Jayden dropped to one knee, panting hard, arms shaking.
"What... the hell... was that?" he rasped between breaths. He had just lifted an object weighing easily the same ton as five large trucks. Forty to be precise.
He had lifted 40 tonnes!
Jayden’s surprise was cut short as the system screen suddenly appeared in his line of sight with a more shocking notification.
[Strength Ability has been mastered]
[You can now use the ability; Enhanced Strength]
[+50% permanent increase in Strength]
[+20% permanent increase in Defense]
[Durability increased. Muscle fatigue resistance increased]
Jayden stared at the screen, mouth slightly open.
"No way..."
He looked at his hands.. shaking, sweating, aching, then smiled.
He rose slowly to his feet, the sun glinting off his sweat-slicked skin, his breath finally leveling out.
"So this is what the mastery stat really does."
