Lucky Spin: Godly Programming-Chapter 141 - 142: This is a man’s business
When he removed his hand from her mouth, Jessica, who had believed he was about to make a move since his hands were now resting on both her shoulders.
He felt a blend of expectation and also fear, since it seemed that he was really going to do something.
Her mind spiraled as she struggled to decide what to do. Then his voice cut through the silence.
"Jessica," he called softly.
She felt too shy and nervous, yet she still gathered the courage to open her eyes and saw his face staring at her with a serious expression.
"Is he going to confess?" she wondered in panic.
She was unsure of how to respond if he really was about to tell her his feelings.
Her emotions, which were mixed with joy, fear, and excitement, suddenly faded away the moment he finally spoke.
"Can you leave my room for a moment? I have something to do," he said to her in a calm voice.
"WHAT!" her mind felt like it was about to explode.
She had been thinking that something unbelievable was about to happen, yet it turned out he just wanted her to leave his room.
Her embarrassment turned into disappointment then quickly turned into anger, especially because her expectations had been completely crushed.
"You want me to leave? Why?" she asked, looking straight at his face with a cold expression.
"Because... ahhh, I have something important to do, so can we talk tomorrow? I’m really busy," he said, struggling to come up with the right lie.
Jessica only snorted and shook her head, refusing to give him the chance to push her out.
She was too stubborn at this moment, since her anger fueled by the thought of how foolish she had been for expecting something that wasn’t true in the first place.
Seeing how stubborn she was at this current moment, Jeff started to panic.
He was in a hurry now, knowing that if he wasted even a few more seconds, that man would be out of his reach.
Lifting her by the shoulders like a doll, he carried her off the floor, carefully adjusting his strength since she was a delicate girl.
Being carried like a kid made her face flush red, but when she realized he was actually carrying her all the way to the door outside of his room, her expression darkened.
"Do you really have to go this far just to throw me out? Do you hate me that much?" she asked, her heart aching as a wave of sadness filled her chest.
Jeff, upon hearing her words and seeing her face, was struck by an expression that seemed to silence everything around him.
Her face no longer showed anger, only pure sadness, and that sight made his heart ache as their eyes met.
After he set her down outside the door of his room, she stood there quietly, clearly waiting for him to say something.
He noticed how she was clutching her clothes tightly, trying to calm herself, so he came up with another lie, hoping it would somehow cheer her up.
"I’m so sorry, Jessica. Let’s play next time, it’s just that I’m really busy right now. If you want, I can take you out next time, how about that?" he said with a smile, trying his best to cheer her up.
But his words didn’t seem to work. She only looked at him with hopeful eyes and said.
"If it’s something important, I can help. Why don’t you let me help you, how about that?" Her voice carried full sincerity.
"No, no, no," he replied quickly, waving his hands in panic.
"This is a man’s business. You girls can’t help me with this," he said with rushed smile.
Being rejected again and pushed away made her feel even more disheartened, yet she still tried to insist.
"Well, I can learn... and besides, it’s better to have one more person helping, so..." she said, but couldn’t finish her words as Jeff shook his head firmly.
Seeing that he was still saying no firmly she stopped and lowered her head.
Her fingers began fidgeting together like a child that had done something wrong.
"Then can I ask what’s so important?" she asked softly.
Jeff, who was already in a rush and was now using his hearing all they way up, suddenly felt his senses reach their limit.
His hearing could no longer detect anything beyond 550 meters, and realizing he could no longer sense the man, his expression darkened.
"I’m going to masturbate in private, alright? So don’t open the door or disturb me, got it? Bye!" he said quickly before closing the door.
Without wasting another second, he jumped out the window and moved through the darkness, vanishing from one spot to another like a shadow.
The man who had slipped out of his range was now within his senses again. Jeff could tell he was in a car, speeding away fast.
"You’re not getting away from me," Jeff muttered as he ran swiftly through the shadows, unseen and unnoticed by the man in the car.
For clarification the car wasn’t moving slowly. Its speed was around sixty kilometers per hour.
And to be able to follow it, he clearly had an inhuman pace considering that the fastest runner back in his world could only reach forty-four.
He was twenty kilometers faster from that guy, and from the way he moved, it was clear he wasn’t even using his full strength.
After only a few minutes, they arrived at a mountainous area.
Jeff instantly became far less noticeable, blending easily into the surroundings.
The thick trees provided natural cover, but that wasn’t the only reason for his concealment.
Now that he had reached the third level, his control over his body had reached perfection.
Every cell, muscle fiber, and nerve impulse responded exactly as he intended.
Normally, the human body releases constant micro-signals like tiny vibrations, faint heat emissions, and subtle electromagnetic patterns caused by bioelectric activity.
These signals although they are invisible, it could be sensed by other living beings with sharp instincts.
By mastering the Kinetic Vein Art to the third level, Jeff could suppress those signals.
The art allowed him to regulate the microscopic kinetic energy flowing within his bloodstream and muscles.
By slowing his heartbeat, adjusting his breathing rate, and reducing surface temperature through controlled blood flow, he could make his body appear nearly lifeless to detection.
It was similar to how certain animals, like octopuses or chameleons, could alter their appearance and heartbeat to avoid predators.
And this is exactly what he did, but on a higher level since his body’s energy output was tuned so precisely that even sensitive equipment or beasts that relied on life-sense would detect nothing unusual.
After following the man for some time, Jeff saw him turn toward a wooded area where a narrow man-made road was made that completely separates to the main road.
Eventually, the car stopped in front of an abandoned warehouse.
Seeing that the car finally stopped, Jeff knows that he had arrived and knows that it was time for him to act. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
