Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 796: Arriving At Thebis
"Of course! I will definitely visit you there!"
Peach then asked Simon to leave the room. However, Simon told Peach to wait for him at the door because he still had some things he wanted to tell Arielle.
Arielle nodded, also asking for the opportunity to speak privately with Simon to Peach. The young girl understood and then waited outside the room.
Simon or Alexis took a deep breath. Ronan, who was standing by the door, relaxed his body, waiting for what Alexis would say to his wife.
"Arielle, thank you for all your kindness. The bed, the food, as well as all the money you gave me, I will pay back all of your kindness one day."
"Don’t! I did it because you are my brother."
"Arielle ..."
"Alexis... I know we are not close. And I know you still feel awkward around me, even feel unworthy of everything I gave. But believe me, I really... really have forgiven you. I have absolutely no grudge against you. I want us to start everything again."
Convincing Alexis that Arielle had truly forgiven him was truly hard. Far more difficult than convincing Lucas to call her name without the title of a queen.
"I really hate myself for what I have done to you, Arielle."
"Please don’t... Archie has told me that out of all the brothers I have, you are the one who cares about me the most. Even if you don’t show it, knowing that I was... being protected many times, that alone is enough for me."
Alexis nodded. He didn’t hold back Arielle’s hand that touched him. He just looked at his feet in embarrassment, feeling ashamed of his sister’s kindness.
"Ah, I know If you feel indebted to me. Brother, you can repay me in another way..."
"Like what?"
"You can send me some of Nieverdell’s fruits. In Northendell, Nieverdell’s fruits are very expensive and rare. I would be very happy and grateful if you could send me some every month. It doesn’t have to be you who delivers the fruits. If you need a courier, I can provide it."
Alexis thought for a moment. It only took a few seconds to convince the man before he nodded, accepting Arielle’s offer.
"Okay, I’ll send you fruits every month."
"Thank you, Brother."
"I should be the one thanking you, Arielle."
"Shh! Don’t refuse it. I’m tired of our endless debates of gratitude," Arielle answered with a little laugh, making Alexis smile too.
Ronan bit his lip. He impatiently waited for the time to be with his wife. His eyebrows then arched upon seeing Arielle hugged Alexis tightly.
From behind, he could see that Alexis’ body tensed up, but the man slowly relaxed. Alexis even returned Arielle’s hug by touching her back.
After the two of them let go of their embrace, Alexis bowed his head slightly before leaving the room and approaching Peach. The man also bowed respectfully to Ronan who had been silent all this time.
Ronan always felt astounded every time he saw Alexis. Not in the true sense of the word, of course. He was just amazed at how a human could change that much.
In the past, Ronan remembered how Alexis’ disdainful smile blazed his anger and hatred. But, look what the man did now... walked with his head down like a man with no pride.
After Alexis left the room, Ronan wanted to get closer to Arielle, but William and one of the Thebis guards arrived. They informed her that she could get off the ship now. Prince Khaled was already waiting at the front.
Arielle put on her long, thin robe. The night in Thebis felt a bit strange. It was breezy yet still hot. The cool breeze blowing from the sea helped her to breathe a little easier because the surrounding air was very dry.
The girl also wore a scarf to cover her face. Prince Khaled said that most of Thebis land was covered with sand. The wind could blow anytime and get in their eyes if they weren’t careful.
Arielle got off the ship with the others. William and Lucas didn’t leave her side even for a second, while Prince Khaled walked in front of them.
The atmosphere of the port city of Thebis was not much different from that of Northendell. It was equally crowded. Many merchants sold their wares, and people scattered here and there, buying what they needed.
The only difference was the geographical conditions and temperature.
Arielle looked left and right, looking for her brother or Peach. She couldn’t invite Alexis to stay with them because the accommodation provided by Prince Khaled was the property of the royal family.
Prince Khaled often went to Nieverdell, hence Arielle believed the Prince knew her brother. Just in one glance, he would have noticed that it was Alexis.
After walking for a few minutes, they arrived at an inn made of tall, pale yellow stones. The wooden door was sturdy, and the windows there were much smaller than those in Northendell or Nieverdell.
Arielle, along with William, Lucas, Ronan who disguised as a knight, as well as the three guards, went inside the inn. They divided the room. Arielle was alone. Lucas, William, and one guard were in the same room, while the remaining guards were placed in the other room. Of course, Ronan would stay with Lucas and William.
When they entered the room, William asked the doctor to check Arielle’s condition again. He felt the Queen’s face had turned pale again.
The doctor checked Arielle thoroughly and advised her to rest completely until they continued their journey.
Arielle nodded, agreeing with the doctor.
"My room will be one floor below yours, with some of the guards from Thebis. If you need anything, you can ring these bells."
Prince Khaled pointed at the three types of bells near Arielle’s bedroom door. The first one was to call a person from the kitchen, the second one was to call a maid, and the last one was connected directly to Prince Khaled’s room.
Thus, if Arielle needed something urgent like a doctor, Prince Khaled could do it right away.
The three bells were tied to a rope to the top of the roof, which was connected to the various places the Prince had mentioned earlier.
"I understand," said Arielle.
