Chapter 788: Arielle’s Condition

"You drink this?" Arielle asked Ronan who had now moved to sit on the bed. From this position, he could enjoy the back of his wife who was busy checking the room.

"I only drank a little. Blame it on William who took it."

"There is only one bed here. How did you two sleep together?"

"I split the shifts. I used the bed... but when I didn’t use it, Lucas and William could use it alternately. I told William that maybe I’ll spend some time in your room tonight. And tonight was his turn to sleep on the bed. That’s why William grumbled a little when he was sent away."

"You’re too mean to William," answered Arielle, who was holding back her laugh at William’s misfortune.

Arielle turned towards Ronan who was staring at her intently.

"There’s so much I want to talk about, but I’m still worried about your body. You need rest, Arielle. Come here..."

Ronan held out his hand, and Arielle gladly took it.

Arielle approached Ronan. She took his outstretched hand and sat on the edge of the bed.

"What did you talk about with Alexis? You two talked for quite a while," asked Ronan who wanted to quench his thirst for curiosity since earlier.

"I asked him how he got here and stuff?"

"Can you go into more detail about some of these stuff things?"

Arielle glanced at Ronan. The woman bit her lip to hold back a laugh. "Okay, I’ll explain in detail. But before that, can you also explain why you are here and what were you doing while you were hiding from me in detail too?"

Ronan threw his body to lie on the bed.

"Ugh, I didn’t do much. I’m just in this room. I just came out when you also left your room."

Indeed, all Ronan did was waiting for Arielle. He only received a report from William or Lucas. And When Arielle left her own room, Ronan would follow her in silence and distances.

"Oh, so when I was in the room for a few days because of the storm you also spent your time in the room doing nothing?" asked Arielle, who was lying beside her husband.

"Yup. there’s nothing more i can do. So far there have been no suspicious movements from Prince Khlaled or any troops sent by Princess Zohra. They just lack the initiative to take care of you and what happened to you just now is very upsetting for me."

Arielle put her head on the same pillow Ronan used.

"You know, I really miss you. If you didn’t hide all this time from me, maybe I could hug you every night. I’ve been having a hard time sleeping lately."

"Why? Do you miss me that much?" asked Ronan happily hearing his wife miss him too.

Arielle nodded. She told him about her troubles recently. How hard it is to sleep as well as eat. Even she had been feeling very nauseous lately. Ronan who heard that immediately woke up to check on his wife’s condition.

"You don’t feel okay? I’ll call a doctor for you," said Ronan who was worried about his wife’s condition.

Arielle shook her head. "I’m fine now. Really. All the tiredness I feel fades away when I see you."

Ronan is still unsure of his wife’s condition. They would still sail for a few more days until they arrived at the port. At least Arielle really should be treated by a doctor first. He didn’t want Arielle to get sick after arriving in Thebis later.

"Is there anything else you feel besides nausea and loss of appetite?"

"Um... nothing. It’s just that I miss you more and more every day. I’ve never been like this before. Two nights ago, I cried because I slept alone and started to feel bored in my room but William forbade me to go out because there was still a storm outside the ship."

"You were crying?" asked Ronan who was still panicking.

The man cupped his wife’s cheeks and examined Arielle’s face one more time. Sure enough, Arielle’s face looked thinner than Ronan remembered. Her lips were dry and Arielle’s eye bags started to show.

"If I knew you weren’t feeling well like this, I would have visited you earlier, Arielle. Why didn’t you tell William or Lucas?

"I don’t want to trouble them. Anyways I just miss you. I don’t want to make them feel awkward for listening to my impossible request."

Ronan hugged his wife tightly. The man apologized for ignoring Arielle’s condition. Arielle returned the hug. Hugging Ronan tightly because she still couldn’t believe that her husband was here right now accompanying her.

Getting Ronan here convinced Arielle that the man really didn’t want to be separated from her under any circumstances. This time who else would be his replacement in royal group riding to Thebis with Lazarus?

The last time Ronan did something like this, Lucas was wearing the man’s clothes even though Ronan’s body shape and size were very different from Lucas’s.

Arielle prayed that whoever replaced Ronan in the current capital would always be fine.

While hugging Ronan in her arms, Arielle also told what was discussed with Alexis earlier. True to her promise, Arielle told everything in detail. Ronan listened to everything carefully. He still wasn’t willing, Arielle forgave Alexis that easily.

"How can you forgive him so easily? Even though you also fell from the ship because of that man!" said Ronan.

Arielle stroked the man’s face asking Ronan to calm down. Ronan sighed and buried his face in Arielle’s palm.

"Alexis didn’t do it on purpose. It happened because I didn’t see the opening door I was taking and two men bumped into me," Arielle replied.

Ronan noticed his wife’s face which looked unwell. "You should rest. Go to sleep, I won’t disturb you." said Ronan so suddenly.

"You are so cold."

"Cold?"

Arielle removed her hand from Ronan’s face and shifted her body position away from him making Ronan feel empty because Arielle’s body warmth left him.

"You know, normally you would kiss me. Are you still upset that I fell into the sea?"

"Oh, Arielle... I’m not mad at you at all. Just so you know, I’m holding myself back right now. I don’t want you to be exhausted after what happened to you just now. Also after hearing what you said, I want you to be healthy and rest more."

Arielle bit the inside of her cheek.

"I understand. Your presence here is more than enough," said Arielle, who then adjusted her sleeping position to make it more comfortable. Ronan watched his wife intently. The woman was clearly disappointed.

Ronan felt insensitive. He should be able to treat Arielle better than this. Every day he was always gone, when he returned Ronan would take Arielle to their bed without a second thought. Ronan should have hugged his wife before going to bed.

The man was even closer. Lifts Arielle’s head so it rests on her arm. Arielle opened her eyes due to Ronan’s movement. Their faces became very close. Ronan could feel Arielle’s soft breath on his face.

His gaze fell to Arielle’s lips. Maybe a little kiss won’t wear Arielle out?

"Arielle, I’m sorry. May I kiss you?" asked Ronan asking permission.

Ronan usually never gave permission to kiss Arielle but earlier Ronan had refused Arielle because Arielle was not feeling well but now the man couldn’t resist the urge of his body to kiss Arielle.

Arielle put her hands behind the man’s head. Kissing the man long enough with both eyes closed. Ronan also pushed Arielle’s body to lie back down. A soft kiss would never satisfy him, so Ronan deepened their kiss.

Arielle did not refuse. She longed for his husband’s touch and this was her chance.

"Hah ..." Arielle sighed softly when Ronan lowered his kiss to the neck where their mate bond mark was located. That was Arielle’s most sensitive point. Ronan gripped Arielle’s dress tighter to restrain himself from overstepping his bounds. He had promised himself that that night he could only kiss Arielle. No more.

Ronan stopped kissing them. Arielle panted. Her hands slipped from Ronan’s shoulders. Ronan instead gave lots of kisses on his wife’s cheek.

"I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier."

Arielle shook her head. She didn’t want to be reminded of what happened earlier. The woman hugged Ronan to start sleeping.

"Sweet dreams."

"Of course. I will have sweet dreams tonight because you are here."

Ronan smiled at his wife’s answer. The man kissed Arielle’s forehead for the last time and returned Arielle’s hug to sleep more comfortably.

Morning is coming. Arielle winced as the sun shone so brightly. Her stomach felt knotted again. She let go of Ronan’s hands that hugged her body roughly making Ronan wake up as a result.

Arielle ran to the bathroom to vomit her stomach contents. The rocking ship made her dizziness even worse. Ronan caught up with Arielle quickly. Holding the woman’s hair so as not to get dirty.

"Arielle, I don’t think you’re okay," said Ronan, who was worried about his wife’s condition.
