Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 569: The Warm Gathering
Lazarus had weird thoughts sometimes, but it still made Arielle chuckle. She then apologized to Kael for not wanting to offend the man.
"Sorry, Lord Kael. I didn’t mean to laugh at you, but what Lazarus said earlier made me laugh."
"It’s all right, Your Highness. I see. Sometimes a person just needs one hit to correct the position of his brain," said Kael, glancing at Lazarus sharply, while Lazarus ignored Kael’s threat and laughed along at his own joke just now.
William and Lucas laughed too. Priest Elis smiled faintly, so did Tania. Only Aimee, Kael, Irene, and Ronan didn’t laugh at all because they didn’t find the humor in Lazarus’ joke funny.
"Then, is there something you like? Maybe I can provide a room to your liking, Princess Irene," Lucas said.
"My liking?" Irene turned to Arielle, asking for help. She didn’t know what she wanted. She was used to accepting whatever was given to her. Even if it was leftovers, Irene didn’t mind at all.
"Is there a certain color you like?" Arielle asked Irene.
"Color... umm, wh-white?" Irene replied doubtfully.
"Oh, Princess Irene likes white? Me too," Aimee said enthusiastically, hoping that Princess Irene would open up to her soon.
"Because Arielle is white," Irene replied, then looked down, feeling very embarrassed.
Arielle raised her eyebrows in surprise. Her lips curled up beautifully.
"You like white because of me?" she asked.
Irene just nodded without looking at Arielle.
"That’s very sweet of you. One person in Blackthorn is also obsessed with Arielle," Aimee mumbled to stop herself from screaming because she saw that the shy Irene was so adorable.
Ronan just snorted. Irene was indeed her sister, but to share his wife with her, he should think about it first. Irene could get anything in this world other than Arielle.
They spent time getting to know each other until it was dinner time. One by one, they talked about their families. Kael only had one younger sister, Aimee. Then, Lazarus had no younger sisters, only three unruly brothers.
William actually had two younger sisters, but he didn’t know their latest news. He didn’t even know where his family lived now. His first sister was at Aimee’s age and his second sister was around Irene’s age but slightly older.
Priest Elis and Lucas had no siblings. They were the only child. Tania also said that her other sibling had died a long time ago and was buried in Nieverdell.
The longer they talked, Irene slowly became more courageous, and Arielle didn’t really stick to the little girl’s side anymore. Irene had braced herself to walk alone with Aimee as they headed to the dining hall to eat together.
Lucas left the room to prepare their dinner, while Priest Elis asked permission not to join with them because he had to prepare a lot of things.
While waiting for dinner to arrive, William asked Ronan about the plans of Arielle’s coronation, which had been delayed quite long. Arielle turned to her husband to know the man’s answer.
"One more week," Ronan replied, taking everyone by surprise.
"I planned to invite many people from all over the world to witness Arielle’s coronation. However, after thinking about it again, introducing Arielle to the North first was much more important. I’ll still invite them, but if they don’t come because they don’t have time, then I don’t mind."
Arielle nodded in agreement. She would follow Ronan’s decision on that one.
"Besides, I don’t want to procrastinate any longer. After looking at the reports that William compiled for the past month, I knew that a lot of things had happened. Many people are worried about Arielle’s condition, and by crowning Arielle as my queen quickly, then everyone will know that she is fine now."
Ronan then explained to Arielle that while the girl spent her time at Birwick, he used the excuse that Arielle was sick and couldn’t be visited.
"What about Princess Irene?" William asked. "Are you also going to introduce Princess Irene as your little sister?"
Ronan thought for a moment then nodded his head firmly. "Irene is my sister. She is the Princess of Northendell. There will always be a special place for her. And the sooner everyone gets to know Irene, the sooner she learns about her position as a princess."
Irene, who didn’t understand anything that Ronan was talking about, just sat quietly in her seat.
"Isn’t that too fast?" Arielle asked.
"No. We just need to introduce Irene again. She can learn slowly after that. I’m not going to force her to learn all that’s necessary in a short amount of time. I want Irene to enjoy her time in the palace and learn comfortably," replied Ronan.
Arielle then understood the man’s intentions. She also agreed to that. Rather than forcing everything to be done quickly and making Irene uncomfortable, it would be nice if it was done naturally, and Irene could also enjoy the process.
Their conversation was cut short when Lucas and the servants and maids arrived to bring them dinner. Arielle helped Irene to eat and choose the food the little girl wanted. Aimee also sat beside Irene, providing a small plate of Frostberry for Irene’s dessert later.
After dinner, Arielle took Irene to the room that Aimee had prepared. It was beside Arielle’s room at the Whitethorn Palace. At first, Irene felt strange to have such a huge room for herself.
Tania tidied the blanket for Irene. Arielle also helped untie the ribbon in Irene’s hair, while Aimee was preparing a nightgown that might be a little too big for the girl.
Arielle still didn’t want to leave Irene alone. The girl looked restless as she lay on the bed, which was wide enough for two to three people. When Arielle walked closer to accompany Irene, Tania touched both of her shoulders.
"I heard that Princess Irene likes to listen to the bedtime stories? I have so many stories. Does Princess Irene want to hear one of them?" Tania asked softly then sat on a chair beside Irene’s bed.
Irene who was initially restless was now calmer and nodded her head enthusiastically. "Can we hold hands?" she asked, and Tania nodded her head, accepting Irene’s request.
