Chapter 294: Ronan Expecting Something Red

Arielle’s face became depressed, and she shook her head slowly. She didn’t know what he wanted.

"I haven’t gotten a kiss from you since morning. I was waiting at the office, wishing I could take you to this place. Besides that, I’ve been very curious about what you talked about with William. I’m jealous of William because he can freely spend time talking to you while I have to deal with those people."

Arielle blinked her eyes in surprise. Ronan was jealous of William just because the two of them were talking? But she always talked with William before? What’s the difference?

"But William and I didn’t talk about anything strange. I’m just asking about a few things regarding some of the cases people brought into this hall," said Arielle.

"But I want to be here with you too. I want to be the one who explains everything to you. Not William."

"But you are busy."

Ronan bit his lower lip "I know. I just don’t like you guys getting too close."

Ronan still remembered how William praised Arielle. It was clear that the man had a feeling of admiration for her. Ronan grabbed her body and hugged her tightly. He realized that what he was doing was too much.

Forbidding Arielle to chat with William when he himself ordered that man to look after her was unreasonable. He felt even more guilty for being so harsh on her a while ago. It wasn’t her fault, and he almost took her anger out on her.

"Sorry, I’ve gone too far," he said after releasing Arielle from his embrace.

Arielle just looked at Ronan without saying anything. Her hand reached out to fix up a few strands of the man’s hair that fell on his forehead. The two stared at each other for a while, but she averted her eyes. Looking straight at him too much would cause her heart to thump loudly. Her heart wouldn’t last long.

"Ronan."

"Yes, Arielle?"

"I don’t understand why you are jealous of me chatting with William. During our talk, the two of us only talked about you, and in my head, I only thought of you alone."

The man’s mouth slightly opened, waiting for Arielle to continue her words.

"William is a great friend. He helped me learn a lot today. Little by little, I feel... I can get closer to you."

"Getting closer to me?" asked Ronan who did not understand what Arielle meant.

"Today I learned a lot about the responsibilities you hold as a king. From William, I know what problems are bothering you so in the future I hope I can help you to ease your burden."

"Arielle..."

Arielle turned to him and gently caressed Ronan’s cheek. His heart thumped seeing red blush flickered on that girl’s cheeks. "I am... a bit embarrassed to say this."

"What?" asked Ronan impatiently.

"After we get married later, I will have a new role for you. You said... I’ll become a queen, won’t you?" Slowly his cheerful smile broke and Ronan’s expression lightened up.

He nodded quickly at Arielle’s question. She cleared her throat before continuing her words. "But, before becoming a queen I will be your wife first, and ... I want to be your place to rest and listen to all your complaints. And if possible, I would like to help you like William, Kael, and Lazarus have done."

Arielle added, "That’s why... I want to learn a lot about you, Northendell, and anything related to you. For me, William, Kael, and Lazarus are the right people to help me because they are the closest people to you."

Ronan smiled proudly listening to Arielle’s words. He cursed himself for being jealous of William. Ronan should have been able to trust her more. The girl was a sincere person who was genuinely worried about him.

"I’m embarrassed because I got carried away with emotions. I should have trusted you more."

Arielle smiled and brought her face closer to kiss the man’s forehead.

"You have worked hard. Maybe you’re just tired."

"Don’t forgive me like this so easily, Arielle. You might spoil me even more," Ronan said. He felt even more guilty because Arielle didn’t hold a grudge against him at all for being jealous.

Arielle pursed her lips to stop herself from smiling widely. She looked closely at the face of the man in front of her. Although there were no eye bags, she could see the dark lines under his eyes that showed he had worked hard and lacked rest.

"I heard you only slept an hour last night?" asked Arielle.

"I have to finish a lot of paperwork. This agenda has been postponed for a few days because I have to go to Nieverdell."

"But, didn’t I tell you last night to get some rest?"

Ronan watched Arielle carefully. "If I become a naughty boy, will I get punished?" he asked in a seductive tone.

"Not really, I don’t have any reason to punish you. You’ve worked hard. There’s no way I’ll bother you again by punishing you. You’re not a kid anymore either." Arielle answered innocently.

Ronan frowned, quite disappointed that Arielle didn’t catch the signal he was giving. She could sometimes be the most innocent person he had ever met.

"Well, you have a point," Ronan replied, hiding his disappointment.

"But... Do you have time for tonight or tomorrow?"

Ronan’s eyebrows irked again. "This agenda will probably end at night like last month. Perhaps tomorrow? After finalizing the files to share with the higher-ups of the monarchy regarding their reports."

"Hm... Is that so?" That was all Arielle’s answer and that made Ronan even curious.

"What is going on? If you need anything I can spare my time."

"Nothing. I just think you need a little more rest. You look exhausted."

Ronan grabbed Arielle’s loose hair and kissed it gently. "Being with you like this is already able to restore my energy. This is my form of rest."

Arielle shook her head while laughing. "I am just worried that you might fall ill. That is it."

"Arielle, I couldn’t even remember when was the last time I was sick. Ah, maybe I’ve had a few headaches and it wasn’t due to fatigue, but rather I had to solve a problem that Lazarus had done."

Arielle chuckled softly. She nodded in understanding.

"But, if I have finished all my work. What would you do?" he asked again.

Arielle thought for a moment. "I want to give you a reward as a token of appreciation for working hard."

Appreciation reward? Ronan still had the painting Arielle made in his room. Will he get a new painting?

"What kind of reward?" asked the man who was a little hopeful. He remembered that Arielle promised she would wear red lingerie. "Is... Is my reward related to ... something red?" added Ronan hopefully.

"Red? Ah... sorry, I didn’t know you were expecting a thing. I-I didn’t prepare anything for that."

Ronan smiled to cover his disappointment once again. It seemed Arielle had completely forgotten about her own promise.

"Then, what will be my reward if it is not an object?"

"Um... I am thinking of pampering you all day," Arielle replied innocently.
