Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 283: Arielle’s Rejection
"Eh? It’s alright, Sir! Thank you for your effort... You don’t have to feel guilty over a trivial thing like this." Arielle tried to help the man to get up by lifting his arm.
Riel was a rabbit after all, so it was only natural that if she wanted to jump around. Arielle didn’t want to keep her rabbits locked up in a closed room too.
A large robe covered Arielle’s wet body. Ronan was by her side, enveloping Arielle and Riel with his coat so she wouldn’t get cold.
"What are you doing? You can get sick if you stay like this!" scolded Ronan who did not like to see Arielle’s reckless action. She touched Ronan’s chest while chuckling.
"I’m not that weak. This little water won’t make me sick," she replied. Her lips trembled, showing that she was getting cold.
Ronan didn’t have time to punish the guard or Lazarus for carelessly guarding Arielle’s rabbits. Lazarus... Ronan was totally speechless by him. He had warned him not to let go of the rabbits as long as Arielle had not yet returned.
In this palace, only Arielle could control these little monsters. Without Arielle, they would be no different from destructive wild animals. And see what happened here... 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
That man didn’t even listen to his warning.....
However, that wasn’t what Ronan needed to worry about right now. He would take care of Lazarus later. He had to put Arielle first, so he dismissed everyone and brought Arielle to her own room.
"Princess, let me dry Riel and gather the rest of its family," Lucas asked Riel.
"Oh, thanks, Lucas. I’ll change my clothes quickly."
Arielle wanted to hand Riel over to Lucas, but the little animal refused. Riel always jumped back at Arielle every time Arielle tried to separate it from her.
"I think I’ll hold it in a moment," said the girl, laughing at the adorable behavior of Riel.
An impatient Ronan pulled Arielle’s waist to come with him. Arriving in her old room, Arielle thanked Ronan.
"Thank you for bringing me here. I will quickly change clothes and dry Riel."
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s arm before the girl entered her room.
"What do you mean? I’m coming in."
"D-don’t!"
Ronan narrowed his eyes at Arielle’s sudden rejection. His hands locked Arielle on either side of the girl’s head while bending his head so that their gazes were at the same level. "Why? You act like I’ve never seen your body before."
Arielle immediately covered Ronan’s mouth and the man stuck out his tongue, making Arielle pull her hand in surprise.
"It is not like that. It’s just..." Arielle moved her legs nervously which made Ronan impatient to listen to her explanation.
"Just what?"
"W-we’re not married yet. I was afraid that someone would see."
"Who will see us?"
"Maybe ... maids or guards are here?" she answered hesitantly.
Ronan looked beside him and found no one there. "This is my palace, I can do anything or meet whoever I want."
Someone cleared his throat from behind. Ronan turned his head for a moment and saw Tania who was smiling at him.
The old woman then bowed her head and said politely "I’m sorry for interrupting your time, Your Majesty. Allow me to take care of Princess Arielle."
He didn’t know what happened here. But seeing Tania still waiting for his response, he straightened up his back and stroked Arielle’s head for a while. "We will continue our talk after you get changed."
Arielle just nodded and breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Ronan leave. Tania laughed seeing Arielle’s panicked expression which had relaxed a bit after Ronan had left. The two of them went into the same room where Arielle used to stay.
"How’s Sasha? He is resting?" asked Arielle as she put Riel into her bed basket.
Tania took off Ronan’s coat and lay it on the bed. "No, he is eating well now. He said that even though the food at Nieverdell was delicious with great spices, he still missed Northern food."
Arielle laughed listening to Tania’s story about Sasha getting excited after returning to the North.
"Do you need my help explaining to His Majesty why you refused him?"
Arielle sighed in relief as her body touched the lukewarm water. Tania grabbed the liquid soap near the shelf and poured it into the water.
"I do not think so. I’ll explain myself."
"Fine, if that’s what you want."
Last night, while their group was resting at an inn, Tania asked Arielle to talk before going to bed. Tania said that it doesn’t matter if Ronan showed his affection for Arielle openly.
It was just that the status of the two was not yet bound officially and Tania didn’t want any negative rumors about them circulated around the kingdom.
It was not because Tania didn’t trust Ronan to take care of Arielle. Tania believed that the man was very capable of doing it. It was just that sometimes there were some people who might not be able to keep things to themselves.
Without them knowing, there might be a servant or guard who always saw Arielle and Ronan sharing a room every day and accidentally told it to someone else, and then the other person spread it to others with some additional stories in it.
The circulating rumors could have a negative impact in the future and it would affect some people’s perspective of Arielle later.
Tania had no intention of separating those two. This was just the instinct of a mother who deeply cared about her daughter’s future. Tania wanted to see Arielle shine in the brightest place, and Ronan was the one who could help her to get that.
Arielle agreed with what Tania said. She intended to convey her wish to Ronan later.
"Hopefully, he can understand," murmured Arielle softly with a flushed face.
Tania just smiled seeing Arielle’s blushing face. She knew what Arielle was worried about. Even though Tania didn’t say it out loud, She already knew enough about what the two of them did when they were alone. Neither of them could take their hands off each other.
After cleaning her body, Arielle put on a warmer dress. She saw that her wardrobe was full of new dresses. It seemed Ronan had filled her room with new dresses.
While Tania was drying the girl’s hair, Arielle took Riel on her lap and dried the rabbit by the fire.
