Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 234: Archie Is Home
Archie immediately got off his horse. He approached Arielle, who was painting in the backyard. The man rode swiftly, returning from the port village after one of the palace guards gave news of Alexis’s and Andrea’s clash.
The first thing Archie was worried about was Arielle. Alexis and Andrea were very close siblings. However, lately, the two of them often had different opinions and Archie was worried that Arielle would be the reason for their fight.
After seeing that Arielle was fine, he immediately headed for the library where Andrea was said to be calming down. His face frowned seeing the row of bookshelves that fell to the floor. The maids were cleaning up every torn and scattered book.
"Where’s Andrea?" Archie asked one of the servants there.
Alexis appeared from upstairs. The man carried a pile of broken books.
"Don’t look for Andrea in my library anymore. Look what she did to my books."
Archie was silent. "Sorry, Alexis. Do you need help to sort this all out?"
"No, you go and calm Andrea down. That woman is losing her mind."
One of Archie’s eyebrows twitched. But he said nothing. The man was allowed to resign and look for Andrea’s whereabouts. He had searched the room, the garden, Queen Rosalie’s room, and even his father’s study but could not find her.
Archie checked Andrea’s carriage. It turned out that the woman had left the palace. While waiting for his sister’s return, Archie went to see the king, to convey the progress he had made after going to the port village.
"Good work. If everything is ready, you can rest in the palace until the appointed day arrives."
"Okay, Father. I will do my best."
Archie, who wanted to say goodbye to resign, was stopped by King Hugo.
"Archie?"
"Yes, Father?"
"Do you know about your two siblings fighting?"
Archie sat back down on the sofa. "I’ve heard the gist of it. I immediately went home after hearing the news."
King Hugo let out a long sigh and massaged his head. "Do you know why they fought?"
"Because Andrea doesn’t want King Ronan to be killed?"
"Correct."
"Sorry, Father. Maybe I had been out of the palace too many times to not know what had happened. But why did Andrea suddenly ask for that?"
"It seems Andrea’s visit to the North a while ago made the girl like that guy. Andrea was furious when Alexis told her about our festival night operation. She said that if the man were to be killed, Andrea would not hesitate to kill Arielle with her own hands."
Archie’s body stiffened. He did not want to say anything that could plunge him into the wrong side.
"Alexis was so angry that he slapped Andrea," King Hugo continued.
"Alexis slapped Andrea?" Archie asked in disbelief.
"Funny, isn’t it? The two siblings were so close, but they ended up hurting each other."
Archie wasn’t surprised by that. The two of them were close. Very, very close. It was just that they both had tough characters. Alexis was a very possessive man. The crown prince took very good care of what he had, both the family and the throne.
Alexis once told him to beat a child to death for bothering Andrea. Alexis was also now increasingly wary of him because he thought that Archie wanted the king’s throne. Therefore, Alexis was doing whatever he could to make sure that he was the only future king.
Andrea was not much different from her brother. Being the oldest princess made Andrea feel that she was the best and must get the best. Archie didn’t know what happened while they were in the North that made Andrea obsessed with King Ronan.
It was just that Archie knew Andrea very well and he knew that Andrea would not stop until she got what she wanted. Maybe this was one of Queen Rosalie’s upbringing results.
Annelise was the same. The girl looked gentle on the outside but had the same traits as her two older siblings.
If so, that meant Archie must be more strict in guarding Arielle. There was a possibility that Andrea would do the unexpected one day.
"Father, I will try to get Alexis and Andrea on the same path again."
"Do as you please, I don’t really care as long as their fighting doesn’t interfere with the festival’s night operations."
Archie nodded and left the room. He now knew what had happened between his two siblings. Alexis didn’t want Arielle to marry King Ronan, and Andrea wanted to have King Ronan all to herself. Broadly speaking, they were on the same path, only the end result would be very different.
Archie was thinking about what to do to get Andrea to let go of her obsession and made Alexis change his mind about killing that Northendell King.
He turned quickly when he saw his mother, who was walking with his two other siblings. Archie was in no mood to be disturbed by his mother, who also secretly had a secret agenda.
His mother was King Hugo’s third concubine. Archie couldn’t help but be silent when she told him to take advantage of his close relationship with Queen Rosalie so that he could become king.
Just as Archie reached the forecourt of the palace, a horse-drawn carriage came. The man paused to see who the royal guest was this time. His eyebrows rose to see the arrival of his sister, Andrea, with a man. Archie recognized the man as Duke Pellington.
Duke Pelington still looked quite fit for someone in his mid-forties. Only a little distended in his stomach but did not cover the muscles in his arms. His blonde hair camouflaged some of his grey hair.
Duke Pellington stretched out his hand for Andrea to enter the palace first. Archie stepped forward so the woman could see him coming.
"Archie! You’re home?" Andrea asked in a happy tone.
"I immediately left the inn when I received news from the person that was sent by you, Andrea."
"Oh, Archie... we’ll talk after this. Meet me at the park in a moment."
Archie nodded and gave way to his sister and Duke Pellington. The man bowed respectfully as he passed Archie.
