Love You Till the End-Chapter 886 - 885: Have You Seen Enough?
Su Jiuyi clutched the corner of her clothes tightly. If it hadn’t been for her quick reaction, she would have almost lost her life.
Recalling that terrifying moment just now, her legs were so weak she couldn’t stand, and her mind was in chaos, unable to think.
The security guards also came in. Seeing the mess in the room, they were taken aback.
A few staff members on the floor rushed over upon hearing the noise and started discussing among themselves.
When Shi Aoju arrived, he saw Su Jiuyi curled up in the corner, her hollow eyes reminiscent of their encounter at last night’s engagement party.
Back then she was sad, now she was scared.
The manager followed behind Shi Aoju. Seeing Su Jiuyi huddled in the corner and Qi Jingren squatting next to her, his face immediately fell, and he scolded, "Why aren’t you staying at your work stations, what are you doing here!"
Qi Jingren rolled his eyes indifferently and showed no fear of his reprimand.
"Everyone out," Shi Aoju said coldly from the doorway.
The manager sighed, glanced at Su Jiuyi and Qi Jingren, then looked at Shi Aoju with tightly pursed lips. After a couple of seconds of silence, he still walked out.
Although he had never seen the boss angry, this man couldn’t be provoked by anyone. Everyone stretched their necks to get a glimpse inside, then left one by one at the manager’s signal.
Su Jiuyi was badly frightened, her hands kept trembling nonstop. Shi Aoju took a few quick steps to her side, squatted down, and with furrowed eyebrows, watched her intently.
She was completely limp, lacking any strength, her lower lip bitten pale with no color, and she trembled as she raised her head to look at the person who had come, her eyes filled with emptiness.
Shi Aoju sighed softly, his arm wrapped around her shoulders and he lifted her from the ground by her waist.
As Su Jiuyi was lifted into the air, she unconsciously clung to his shoulder and then realized that this action felt inexplicably familiar, as if she had done it before somewhere.
Outside the surveillance room was crowded with people, the manager, with a face full of anger, was questioning the security guards. Seeing Shi Aoju walking out carrying Su Jiuyi, he immediately fell silent.
Shi Aoju cast a faint glance at Qi Jingren beside him, finally fixing his gaze on the manager, and said coldly, "Call Mr. Qin to handle this matter."
"Yes, sir," the manager replied respectfully.
Night, deep.
In the VIP suite, Su Jiuyi gradually regained some consciousness. She was close to Shi Aoju, the temperature of his body, and the scent mixed with a hint of tobacco seemed to calm her heart.
She looked up at his cold and stern face which was still as aloof and difficult to approach as it had been during their previous encounters.
But now she realized that despite all his faults, he had just helped her. All those previous complaints were swallowed back down.
From childhood to now, very few people had genuinely cared for her, very few had been good to her, except for her deceased mother, he was the first.
"Have you looked enough?"
Hearing his indifferent voice, Su Jiuyi awkwardly lowered her head, realizing she had indeed stared at him for too long.
After a long moment, she finally remembered to push him away and consciously moved to the side.
"I went to investigate the surveillance to find out who entered your room that day, but the footage had been tampered with. So we found nothing."
Su Jiuyi looked at Shi Aoju with a serious expression, hoping he would grasp the gravity of the situation.
However, Shi Aoju’s expression didn’t show much change, he just raised his sword eyebrows slightly and said lightly, "And then?"
Su Jiuyi paused for a second, then said, "Then I discovered infrared aiming on me, and I don’t know who fired a shot in the surveillance room..."
