Love You Till the End-Chapter 1002 - 1001: Buying a Bag
The car drove for about ten minutes before turning onto a street and stopping outside a designer bag store.
Su Jiuyi frowned in confusion, "What are we doing here?"
"Buying a bag."
Shi Aoju opened the car door and got out. Su Jiuyi had no choice but to follow him, trailing closely behind.
Once inside the bag store, Shi Aoju asked Su Jiuyi to pick one out.
Su Jiuyi looked around the store awkwardly, then noticed a small black backpack—simple yet innovative in design.
"Miss, you have a great eye. This is a new release from our current season, now on a forty percent discount."
A forty percent discount - sounded like a good deal.
She picked up the bag to inspect it, finally discovering its price tag on the strap. She pulled out the tag for a closer look.
1.2.345...
Then, Su Jiuyi silently put the bag back.
"I’ll check out something else." She responded with a dry laugh to the enthusiastic salesperson, which prompted a low chuckle from Shi Aoju beside her.
Su Jiuyi: "..."
What’s so funny? Just because as someone from the lower class workforce, she couldn’t afford a bag even at a forty percent discount that was still worth five figures, was it so embarrassing! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Wrap that one up." Shi Aoju instructed, signaling the salesperson to wrap up the bag Su Jiuyi had just looked at.
"Young Master Jue, I don’t really like this bag!"
Su Jiuyi spoke while frantically gesturing to the staff, indicating she didn’t want the bag.
Only to realize that people around them were all watching.
It was utterly embarrassing.
The nearby salesperson looked to Shi Aoju, seemingly awaiting his decision.
Shi Aoju nodded, handing over a card.
"Won’t it come out of my bonus?" Su Jiuyi asked Shi Aoju in a low voice.
"Money-grubber." Shi Aoju raised his hand and ruffled her hair playfully, his tone full of amusement, "You don’t have that much bonus."
"..." This guy really is...
Her cheeks flushed deeper due to Shi Aoju’s affectionate gesture, her heart fluttering wildly.
Today, Shi Aoju seemed in a good mood. Normally cold and distant, he rarely spoke much, let alone being so gentle and offering to pay for her.
Su Jiuyi felt that his approach was somewhat off.
"Miss, your bag."
The awkward atmosphere was broken by the timely arrival of the salesperson, who handed Su Jiuyi the paper bag. She hurriedly took it, muttering "thank you," and the salesperson returned her smile, then handed the card back to Shi Aoju.
After leaving the bag store, Su Jiuyi’s mind was occupied with the scene of Shi Aoju ruffling her hair.
She felt it surely must be a dream because it seemed so unreal.
*
The cicadas’ buzzing in July resounded incessantly through the forest. Sunlight filtered through the leaves like spots of light on the ground, casting a layer of gold on the dry forest leaves everywhere, with soft orange light, like part of the heart, tenderly and fragrantly enveloping.
"Be careful." Walking beside Su Jiuyi, Shi Aoju raised his eyebrows upon seeing her absent-minded look.
He gave her wrist a little tug, suggesting she snap back to reality, as being on such a steep mountain, the slightest neglect could lead to an accident.
Su Jiuyi pulled back her wandering thoughts and responded, "Got it."
Today, Shi Aoju wore a casual outfit, his sun-kissed skin and refined figure were dazzling, making it hard to look away.
Su Jiuyi was dressed in the simplest attire too, her hair tied high up, and her eyes always glimmering brightly like shining black pearls.
