Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 60 Let’s Get Married
However, it seemed like Di Mingjue had successfully distracted her from her sadness, though she wasn’t quite aware of it. She was totally absorbed in the thought: was Di Mingjue acting a bit out of sorts today?
Just as she was contemplating this question, there was a knock at the door. Gu Qibao got up to answer it.
"Miss Qibao," the servant outside the door bowed respectfully. "GM Di was concerned you might still be hungry, so he asked us to prepare some snacks for you."
"Oh." Gu Qibao scratched her head. "Bring them in then."
"Yes, Miss." The servant pushed a food cart into the room, spread a beautiful tablecloth on the table, and neatly displayed seven or eight plates of appealing pastries. They even thoughtfully provided some delicious champagne and lit some candles, making it look as if they were in a Western-style restaurant. A touch of elegance filled the room.
"Ms. Qibao, do you need help serving?" the servant respectfully bowed.
"No need." Gu Qibao waved her off. "You all can leave now."
"Yes, Miss Qibao, please enjoy your meal." The servant bowed respectfully and left the room.
Appealing pastries always managed to stimulate one’s appetite. Gu Qibao sat down and began to eat.
Even though their baking skills fell slightly short compared to Fang Hao’s, the taste was still quite good.
Gu Qibao enjoyed her food immensely and momentarily set aside her thoughts about Di Mingjue’s odd behavior.
Di Mingjue emerged from the bath draped only in a towel. His muscular, pear-shaped physique was alluring beyond measure, and coupled with his superior looks, it was enough to make Gu Qibao completely dumbstruck.
"Is it good?" Di Mingjue asked, casually toweling off his hair, his raised arm revealing beautiful lines filled with raw power.
Gu Qibao blushed immediately and hastily turned her head, stuffing a piece of cake into her mouth. She nodded her head. "It’s good."
"Take your time, no one’s fighting you for it." Di Mingjue came over and sat down beside her casually.
Gu Qibao unconsciously shifted her bottom, subtly putting some distance between them.
Di Mingjue’s towel-drying hand paused, his gaze slightly hardening, his expression turning cold.
Gu Qibao, who was savoring her cake, felt an odd tension in the air. Why did it feel like the prelude to a fling?
It would probably be better to finish her food quickly and find an excuse to slip away.
So, she began to stuff her mouth with cake urgently.
Di Mingjue furrowed his brows. Had this girl not eaten enough just now? Could she still eat so much more?
She really was like a pig.
Watching her eat with such disregard for table manners, Di Mingjue blinked and lazily stretched out on the sofa. In a nonchalant tone, he said, "Gu Qibao, let’s get married."
"Huh?" Gu Qibao was taken aback and ended up choking on a large piece of cake that she’d swallowed. It got stuck in her throat and she hastily reached for the champagne.
Hearing Gu Qibao’s response, Di Mingjue quickly sat up and grabbed her hand. "You agree?"
Gu Qibao’s face turned red from the choking. She shook her head frantically and tried to break free to reach for the champagne.
But, Di Mingjue held her hand tightly and didn’t let go. He even asked, "Gu Qibao, why are you blushing?"
After saying that, his ears also turned a bit red unconsciously.
Gu Qibao was ready to cry. For god’s sake, if he didn’t let her go soon, she was going to die!
In her desperation, Gu Qibao delivered a swift kick to Di Mingjue’s thigh. Caught off guard, he released her hand from the pain.
She quickly grabbed the champagne from the table and took a huge gulp, finally pushing the piece of cake down her throat, accompanied by a loud burp.
This was definitely a bit embarrassing!
Gu Qibao glanced awkwardly at Di Mingjue and saw his cold eyes narrow. She subconsciously hunched her neck and said, "I, I choked."
"I saw, you idiot!" Di Mingjue glared at her exasperatedly. He reached out to pull her into his lap and gently patted her on the back, admonishing, "Don’t you know to eat slower?"
