Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Still Not Leaving?

"What’s happened here?" Qin Qian picked up Gu Qibao’s torn nightgown, the fabric frayed and hanging loose.

"Didn’t like it, ripped it."

Qin Qian looked at her with a forced smile, guessing the truth in her heart. Should she expose her or not?

In the end, Qin Qian decided to give up. Best not to stress out Gu Qibao the beast. Dealing with Di Mingjue was already a handful for her.

"I forgot I left milk heating up in the microwave!" Said Qin Qian smartly, with a smack to her forehead, before turning and making a dash for it.

Once she left the house, the first thing she did was to call Fang Hao, "Hao hao, is Mingjue awake yet?"

Fang Hao sounded puzzled over the line, "I have no idea. He was nowhere to be seen early this morning." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Qin Qian lowered her voice, "He might be at my house."

"What?" Fang Hao stumbled, trembling hands and feet, "What is he doing at your house?"

"Rolling in the sheets with Gu Qibao." Qin Qian answered bluntly.

Fang Hao almost coughed up blood, feeling utterly embarrassed.

"Um, I have milk on the stove, I will call you back later." Said Fang Hao smartly, hanging up the phone unsuccessfully holding back the tears. My boy, can you not be so perverse as to sleep at someone else’s house?

Could you be a little more discreet and invite them out to say, a motel or something?

Fang Hao really worried for Di Mingjue’s EQ!

Watching Qin Qian dash out made Gu Qibao breathe a sigh of relief. With an irritated huff, she opened the curtain and said, "Aren’t you leaving yet?"

Di Mingjue glanced at her with disdain and emerged from behind the curtain. The tall man then languidly laid back down on the soft bed and looked at her, "Are you sure you want me to leave now?"

Gu Qibao shuddered, yeah, if he left now wouldn’t that just tell everyone that Di Mingjue had slept with her? Not acceptable, absolutely not acceptable.

Shaking her head urgently, Gu Qibao said, "Leave later, remember, there will be no one in the house at nine."

She was going to be late and didn’t have time to deal with this. She rushed to the closet to grab her clothes. At nine, none of her family members would be home, even their housemaid Zhang Mama would be out shopping. As for the other cleaning staff, as long as he slipped out unnoticed, he wouldn’t be discovered.

While putting on her clothes, Gu Qibao added, "Leave quietly, don’t let anyone find out."

Di Mingjue laid side-long on the bed, not even sparing her a glance. Did he need HER permission over whether or not he wanted to be discovered?

Gu Qibao glared at him one more time before leaving, her heart pounding in her chest.

Speaking of looks, were there even a few in the Empire who could match Di Mingjue?

Damn, pest for life!

"Stop." Gu Qibao was about to walk out the door when Di Mingjue’s icy voice stopped her.

"What now?" Gu Qibao turned back in annoyance.

"You’re not going out dressed like that." Di Mingjue continued his lazy tone, looking utterly unperturbed, but his voice was without a doubt.

"Why should you care?" Gu Qibao raised her chin, she was going to wear whatever she wanted.

She opened the door and left.

"If you dare step outside, I’ll follow you." The threat from Di Mingjue behind her was faint.

"!" Gu Qibao slammed the door in frustration.

Having no choice, she had to change into a ’very conservative’ dress before leaving.

Seeing her angry figure, Di Mingjue closed his eyes with a lazy smile.

For the first time in twenty-five years, life was beginning to make sense.

Gu Qibao went to school, but couldn’t avoid being late again.

More aggravatingly, the first class of the day happened to be Mathematics!

"Gu Qibao, where’s your assignment?" The math teacher, had mercilessly cornered her at the door.

"I, erm, the thing is, oh dear, I was sick last night, had a stomachache, didn’t have time to copy."

"Is that so?" The math teacher raised an eyebrow, her face full of doubt.
