Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 1972 - 1969: Whether I’m Fat or Thin, What Does It Have to Do With You?
"Miss, please wait!" The guard immediately shouted loudly and quickly jogged forward.
"What for?" Nangong Ran halted her steps.
The guard looked at her, his attitude becoming respectful, and asked, "Is this medal a gift from the Commander to you?"
"Did I steal it or something?" Nangong Ran retorted.
The guard was momentarily speechless; who could ever steal anything from Di Mingchen?
"No, no," the guard hurriedly said. "Please come with me. I’ll take you inside to meet the Commander."
Nangong Ran was momentarily stunned. What, they’re letting her in again?
A medal actually has such a big effect, allowing passage directly?
After thinking for a moment, Nangong Ran nodded. "Okay."
Actually, she missed him quite a lot, wanted to see him, and was curious about what he was doing.
The guard led Nangong Ran to the guardhouse, resealed the box, but still followed protocol to search Nangong Ran.
After the search, the guard took Nangong Ran inside. They entered by car, following the same procedure as Nangong Jin last time, though Nangong Ran hadn’t experienced it before and was a bit tense.
As the car drove in, Nangong Ran couldn’t help but glance around curiously. It was huge inside, full of soldiers, many formations, different uniforms—navy, land, air, camouflage, and many others she couldn’t name.
Only then did she realize that Di Mingchen was conducting a military parade rehearsal?
Indeed, it was quite a scene.
The car arrived, the guard got out to report, while at that moment Di Mingchen was busy, standing in the blazing sun, speaking seriously with someone beside him.
Nangong Ran watched from afar through the car window, unable to see his expression, only feeling that standing there, he was as upright as a spear.
"Commander, a lady wishes to see you, and she is very beautiful," the guard reported.
Upon hearing this, Di Mingchen paused abruptly while talking; without glancing at the guard, his gaze directly shifted to the car.
Suddenly, his heart started racing; is it Nangong Ran coming to see him?
"Did she say anything?" Di Mingchen suddenly asked without turning.
"She did, she says she’s returning some belongings," the guard quickly nodded and replied. "Your medal, a pack of cigarettes, and a blanket."
"A blanket?" Di Mingchen squinted slightly.
The guard hadn’t had time to respond before Di Mingchen straightened his long legs and strode directly toward the car.
The guard was stunned. Oh my, the Commander went over by himself, went over!
Seeing Di Mingchen approaching made Nangong Ran a bit nervous; amidst the tension, she felt more joy, it had been so long since she last saw him.
Nangong Ran also hurriedly got out of the car as Di Mingchen arrived.
At the very instant he saw her, Di Mingchen slightly furrowed his eyebrows and blurted out, "Why have you lost so much weight?"
Nangong Ran was taken aback, almost blurting out that she missed him, though fortunately, she didn’t.
"Nothing much, just dieting," Nangong Ran coldly replied, pretending indifference.
"Ridiculous." His eyebrows furrowed even further, he rebuked her without thinking, "You’re already thin enough, why diet? You’re so thin you’ve become like a skeleton, do you think that’s pretty?"
"That has nothing to do with you." Nangong Ran quickly retorted in agitation. "Whether I’m fat or thin, what does it have to do with you?"
Di Mingchen paused, a sudden pang of pain shooting through his heart; yes, what does it have to do with him, he had rejected her.
But seeing her this thin made his heart ache with concern.
Moreover, it had been such a long time since he last saw her, he really hadn’t expected her to come looking for him today.
However...
She came merely to return his belongings.
Upon thinking this, Di Mingchen’s eyes suddenly darkened.
