Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 1944 - 1943: I Was So Afraid I’d Never See You Again
Di Mingchen and his group walked over, and everyone gasped collectively. Immediately, enthusiastic applause resounded throughout the courtyard.
People cried, people laughed, people clapped, moved, their blood surging with passion.
Their gazes at Di Mingchen were filled with reverence. In the eyes of everyone present, Di Mingchen was undoubtedly a hero at this moment.
In the crowd stood a slender figure, it was Nangong Ran. She stood there, not rushing forward like the Di Family and Nangong Family did at that moment.
Instead, she stood there as if she was frozen in place.
She didn’t step forward because she was truly stunned; her emotions were complicated, and she didn’t know what to say.
If she had to speak, she would say she was amazed. She thought Di Mingchen was merely righteous, but she never expected him to be a hero.
As she watched him walk over with a calm and composed demeanor, a hero who saved three innocent lives, he displayed nothing but composure.
Di Mingchen also noticed her, amidst the crowd and the excited calls of young ladies shouting "Second Young Master, Second Young Master," but his eyes pierced through the crowd and landed on her face, neither warm nor cold, as if appreciating the beauty of survival.
Nangong Ran suddenly became overwhelmed with emotion, unable to control herself. In front of the crowd and amidst the throng, she grabbed her skirt and ran towards him.
The excited Nangong Ran startled everyone. What’s going on with the Fourth Miss of the Nangong Family?
Nangong Ran didn’t care at all, just running desperately towards Di Mingchen.
Di Mingchen stopped in his tracks, dumbfounded, watching the oncoming Nangong Ran.
In that instant, he felt a hint of nervousness. What is this girl going to do?
Nangong Ran ran over and, in his slightly confused state, launched herself like a mortar shell into his arms, clinging tightly to his neck, unwilling to let go.
Whoa!
The crowd was taken aback, especially Fang Hao, since Fang Hao was still holding Di Mingchen’s hand!
Fang Hao reacted quickly and immediately let go of Di Mingchen’s hand, even though he had felt a bit sad before, he now grinned with amusement.
"Second Brother..." Nangong Ran hugged Di Mingchen. He was tall, and she had to stand on tiptoe.
Yet she didn’t want to let go, holding him tightly, burying her face in his neck, full of longing.
"Wow..." the crowd gasped collectively.
Di Mingchen was momentarily stunned. After he came to his senses, his expression softened, and he placed a large hand on Nangong Ran’s head, gently stroking her hair, "I’m fine."
"I was so afraid I’d never see you again." Nangong Ran’s voice trembled, tears streaming down her face. It was only just now she realized she was really afraid she’d never see him again.
"I’m fine now, be good." Di Mingchen gently coaxed her.
Nangong Ran continued to hug him, greedily inhaling his scent, for a very long time.
Di Mingchen hesitated for a few seconds, but ultimately, he tightened his embrace around her.
"Wow!!" the crowd exclaimed even louder.
"Alright, so many people are watching." Di Mingchen said in a low voice, seemingly a bit embarrassed.
Nangong Ran straightened up, her face still damp with tears, her delicate eyes slightly red, and her small, red lips parted, "Second Brother, I want to kiss you."
Hmm?
Huh?
Di Mingchen had no time to react when suddenly his lips were enveloped in a warm, soft sweetness, tinged with a faint salty hint of tears.
Di Mingchen was truly surprised, never expecting Nangong Ran to kiss him in front of everyone.
Then a fragrant little tongue slipped into his mouth, his heart stirred, and his brows furrowed as he tightened his embrace around Nangong Ran...
