Li Hui went to Nangong Ran’s room, where the guy was sound asleep, snug as can be.

Li Hui barged in and shouted, "Nangong Ran, you little brat, what good deeds have you been up to, leaving Di Mingchen waiting for you all night on a cold night?"

Nangong Ran was almost knocked to the ground by Li Hui’s shout, instantly waking up and looking blankly at Li Hui, "Mom, what are you talking about? What do you mean, waiting all night?"

Li Hui glared at her, "Di Mingchen stood at our front door all night last night, saying he was waiting for you. Did you owe him money or beat up his girlfriend?"

Nangong Ran grew even more confused, "What on earth?"

"What what on earth?" Li Hui couldn’t help grabbing a pillow and started hitting her, "What exactly did you do to him?"

"Hey, mom, let’s talk it out. Don’t get physical!" Nangong Ran jumped up, completely bewildered.

"I don’t bother to talk it out with you." Li Hui wielded the pillow, "I’m telling you, the kids of the Di family are the apple of your Aunt Fang’s eye. If she finds out her son froze in the blizzard all night, she might try to kill me!"

Rushing downstairs, Nangong Ran saw Di Mingchen sitting on the sofa, covered with a blanket, holding a coffee cup, looking very calm.
