Chapter 1455: Chapter 1455: I Have Grown Up

"I dreamed..." Di Jinxuan clutched tightly at his clothes. "I dreamed... I dreamed you were beaten to death by bad people..."

As she spoke, she couldn’t help but choke up again.

Nangong Jin’s heart instantly softened to the extreme. Oh, his dearest wife, she was truly so caring, worrying about his safety, so deeply concerned for his well-being.

"Silly girl." Nangong Jin indulgently kissed her brows and eyes. "It’s just a dream, don’t worry, don’t be scared. There are no bad people. Your husband is the worst of them all—who could possibly lay a hand on me? Dreams are the opposite of reality; it’s nothing, it’s nothing. I’m back now. Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid."

Nangong Jin gently comforted her, and Di Jinxuan obediently nestled in his arms, savoring his scent, his warmth. Like a little hamster, her small hands tightly gripped his clothes, especially docile and tame.

This was the first time Di Jinxuan had ever leaned into his embrace so delicately, so submissively, and so utterly attached and reliant on him.

A ripple of emotion surged in Nangong Jin’s heart, and his mesmerizing gaze instantly turned infinitely tender.

"My wife..." He held Di Jinxuan tightly, letting out a contented sigh while softly stroking her hair.

"Where did you go? Is everything resolved?" After a while in each other’s arms, Di Jinxuan finally spoke, her beautiful, wide eyes staring straight at Nangong Jin.

Those eyes held light, concern, gentleness, and longing.

That gaze left Nangong Jin feeling immensely fulfilled, a blissful sense of being cherished, needed, and loved. It felt so good.

But that same gaze made him feel a little guilty—it was simply too pure, untouched by the burdens of the world.

He hesitated for a second or two before finally ruffling her hair and saying softly, "Don’t worry, everything’s settled. It’s all fine now."

"Okay." Di Jinxuan hugged him tightly, finally showing a hint of a smile.

Nangong Jin was just about to let out a sigh of relief when she asked again, "What exactly was it about?"

Sigh, he knew she would definitely ask. There was no way he could brush her off with vague answers, was there?

But he was somewhat reluctant to tell her. He felt that if he told her, she would undoubtedly feel upset.

"I already said it’s a small matter. There’s no need to worry about it, no need to mind it. No matter what it is, your husband can handle it perfectly fine. You, on the other hand, should stop overthinking." Nangong Jin’s lips curled into a gentle smile. "Just obediently wait to become my bride. Don’t let your mind wander, and don’t worry about this or that. Women who stress too much age quickly; I wouldn’t want my wife to turn into a little old lady too soon."

But Di Jinxuan wasn’t buying it. She locked her gaze on his eyes and asked directly, "Is there something you can’t tell me?"

Before Nangong Jin could respond, she continued, "Since we’ve already decided to be husband and wife, shouldn’t there be no secrets between us? Shouldn’t we share every burden together?"

Her words were true. Yet Nangong Jin felt that discussing these matters with her would only add unnecessary trouble. So, he still hesitated.

Di Jinxuan probably already had an idea in her heart—it had to be something bad for him to be so evasive.

"Brother Jin," Di Jinxuan suddenly interrupted, looking at his brow with earnest eyes. "I’m grown now; I’m no fragile flower. Since I’ve promised to marry you, to be your wife, then I should know everything. You can’t keep anything from me."

Nangong Jin was momentarily stunned. Should he really tell her?
