Love Symphony: Let Your Heart Beat for Me-Chapter 176 -088 Eternal Wen Qin (Qin Yan Wen He Extra Part 2)_2
Qin Yan paused and then asked back, "You don’t want to marry me?"
Wen He helplessly rubbed her forehead, "I didn’t mean that, I just thought you could at least tell me in advance?"
Qin Yan looked at her, "Is it too late to tell you now?"
Wen He pressed her lips together in frustration, after a long deliberation, she said, "No, at the very least, shouldn’t there be a proposal or something?"
She was a girl who loved romance, with a heart full of youthful dreams. She didn’t ask for a grand romantic proposal like Su Wan’s, she just hoped for a surprise or some kind of gesture, at least something to make her feel truly cherished.
"Oh." Qin Yan paused, remaining in place, indifferently, "Marry me?"
Wen He: "......"
——
The first weekend after going back to work after the New Year, Wen He lay in bed at home sleeping in late.
Since their unhappy parting in Yi City over the proposal, neither of them had contacted the other for more than half a month from the start of the lunar month to now. She hadn’t thought about reaching out to him, and he seemed to have no intention of finding her either.
As noon approached, Wen He was sleeping soundly when the phone on the bedside table rang loudly. She accurately reached for it and put it to her ear without opening her eyes, speaking with a touch of gloom, "Speak."
"Sister-in-law!" Qin Mu’s voice was slightly raised, "It’s the weekend, let’s go out to eat and shop! My sister has to take care of the kid, and Nian Nian is busy with photography drafts, it’s just the two of us! You should come out, come out, come out!"
Qin Mu’s persistent voice surrounded her, Wen He threw off the blanket covering her face and agreed, "Alright, wait for me."
Qin Mu laughed happily, "But I just finished some work assigned last minute by the department, I need to put my things back at the dormitory, and then I have to go to my brother’s to collect some stuff, why don’t you go to my brother’s place and wait for me? It’s more convenient."
Wen He was a bit taken aback, only to hear her add, "Oh don’t worry, my brother had to work overtime at the company today, he’s not at home."
Qin Mu probably understood their current situation, even though she was upset with Qin Yan’s thick-headedness, there was nothing she could do as a third party in this matter of feelings, except to occasionally give them a push when the opportunity arose.
Hearing what Qin Mu said, Wen He felt a bit relieved and agreed readily, "Alright! Take it slow on your way here!"
So Wen He got up, tidied up, and drove to Qin Yan’s apartment, which was not far from where she lived, only about a ten-minute drive. She also knew the password to Qin Yan’s house, so her trip upstairs and into the apartment went smoothly.
Having not been there for a little over two weeks, his apartment was still as tidy and clean as ever, with no changes.
After putting down her bag, she sat on the sofa and began scrolling through Weibo on her phone.
About twenty minutes passed when she heard a commotion at the door. She turned her head just as the door lock was successfully opened, strongly believing it was Qin Mu who had arrived, she got up intending to greet her.
But when she saw who it was, she froze.
Qin Yan didn’t show much emotion, glancing at her indifferently before changing his shoes and entering the room.
Wen He kept her composure and squeezed her palm before sitting back on the sofa, saying, "Qin Mu asked me to wait for her here, I thought you wouldn’t be back so I let myself in."
Qin Yan looked a bit weary, with stubble on his chin and faint dark circles under his eyes, a clear sign of exhaustion. He glanced at her and waved dismissively, "It’s fine, make yourself comfortable." Then he said nothing more and headed straight to the study.
Wen He watched his somewhat dejected back, shrugged helplessly, and said nothing more.
She didn’t know if they were in a cold war or if she had already been... broken up with?
Time passed, another twenty minutes went by, Wen He checked the time and unlocked her phone to call Qin Mu.
But surprisingly, she got an automated response, "Sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off..."
In disbelief, she redialed several times, all resulting in "switched off."
A pang of anxiety hit Wen He’s heart, she stood up, glanced at the slightly ajar study door, and walked over to knock.
After receiving permission, she pushed the door open and entered, her voice troubled, "Can you reach Qin Mu? She asked me to wait for her here, it’s been over an hour and she’s still not here, and her phone is off."
Qin Yan, while working on documents, paused momentarily, his hands hovering over the keyboard, and said directly, "She won’t be coming. I ran into her downstairs when I came back, gave her some money, and sent her off to have fun."
Wen He was stunned, the frustration that had been pent up for over half a month suddenly flared up, she glared at him in shame and anger, "Qin Yan, are you playing some kind of joke on me?"
With that, she turned and stormed out of the study, grabbing her bag and heading toward the doorway.
