Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!-Chapter 719: We Are Not Boyfriend and Girlfriend, We Are--Siblings!
Rose pastry — he remembered that Daisy Grant’s favorite was rose pastry.
Dawn Sutherland’s deep eyes flickered, thinking of the wedding date Daisy and her fiancé had already set. His gaze dimmed, and he planned to speed past Fresh Blossom Bakery, but out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a figure so familiar it could be no one else.
Dawn thought he was seeing things, his eyes flickering. Only when he noticed the car parked on the street did he truly confirm it. He immediately braked and parked his car by the roadside.
The car parked on the side belonged to the Grant family, and he recognized the driver; it was someone from the Grant family.
So the person inside was indeed Daisy; he hadn’t been mistaken.
Dawn walked into the bakery, his gaze carrying a gentle warmth like water.
Daisy Grant was saying something to the clerk, her face adorned with a soft smile that seemed to warm the entire room.
"Daisy."
A familiar voice rang out, and Daisy, who had been looking down with a smile, turned around. When she saw the person who suddenly appeared in front of her, her eyes startled slightly, and she softly called out, "Second Brother."
Dawn gave a faint smile, "What are you doing?"
Daisy’s eyes flickered a bit, and she shook her head, "Nothing, I just—wanted to eat some rose pastries, so I came to buy some."
After speaking, Daisy felt somewhat nervous inside. She turned her head and casually picked two boxes of rose pastries from the display case, trying to cover up the guilty feeling of lying, not daring to look at Dawn.
"The rose pastries here are indeed good." Dawn said with a gentle smile.
He remembered she liked the pastries from this bakery, so during the five years she was abroad, he would often find himself inexplicably walking in to buy two boxes whenever he passed by.
Yet, in those five years, no matter how many boxes he bought, he hadn’t heard her happily eating and saying, "Second Brother, it’s so good, let’s try it together! This is the best pastry in all of City C!"
As Dawn’s thoughts drifted, Daisy had already walked to the counter to pay.
Dawn came back to his senses and watched Daisy taking out her wallet. He immediately went over, handing cash to the cashier first. Meeting Daisy’s gaze, Dawn smiled faintly and said with a calm face, "The last time you gave me those important client lists, we were fortunate enough to strike a deal with President Forest today. Daisy, consider this my thanks to you."
Daisy graciously nodded with a smile, accepting the food bag from the clerk’s hands, "Second Brother, then I’ll accept your thanks."
"Alright." Dawn nodded and smiled.
Since Dawn frequented the bakery, the staff was familiar with him. The cashier teased Dawn, "Sir, so your girlfriend loves rose pastries? No wonder you’re always buying them. The two of you, handsome man and beautiful woman, truly look perfect together."
Daisy tightened her grip on the rose pastries and smiled as she asked, "Second Brother often comes here to buy rose pastries?"
Before Dawn could answer, the cashier teasingly interjected, "Yes, this gentleman often visits to buy rose pastries. I presume they’re for you, his girlfriend? You’re so blessed to have such a caring boyfriend."
Daisy’s gaze dimmed, her emotions gathered, and she shook her head with a smile, "You misunderstand. We are not a couple; we’re—siblings."
The clerk laughed awkwardly and immediately apologized.
Dawn’s body tensed hearing the words ’siblings’, his thin lips moved slightly, his gaze deepening. He spoke with a warm voice, "Let’s go, Daisy."
"Okay, Second Brother."
The two walked out of Fresh Blossom Bakery side by side, conversing with each other.
Due to the clerk’s earlier misunderstanding, there was a bit of awkwardness between them, making the atmosphere somewhat less comfortable.
