Chapter 95: Little Rabbit

He gestured to her shoulder and she glanced over, without realizing it, she had been rubbing her hands against her upper arms, a habitual gesture she habitually did when she was chilly or nervous and in the case when couldn’t tell if it was because she was nervous or because of the chills.

"Here". Tyrell said suddenly, shrugging off the lightweight jacket hanging idly on his shoulder and holding it out to her. "Take this."

Leila’s eyes widened as she instinctively took a step back, waving her hands dismissively as she refused. "Oh, no, no. I’m fine. Really. You don’t have to—"

"You’re obviously cold." He stepped closer, a teasing glint in his eyes as he held the jacket just before her, leaning in quietly. "It’s just a jacket, Leila. Not a marriage proposal."

"I know, but..." She hesitated, biting her lip as she glanced up at him to meet his mischevious grin that only made her want to draw him nearer and peck him . "What if someone sees me wearing your jacket? People might misunderstand."

Tyrell smirked enjoying her expression and how nervous she felt. "People might msunderstand what? That I’m a decent guy or what . .?"

She groaned as she pressed her hands on her temples, torn between wanting to accept his kindness and not wanting to be the subject of rumors especially since tonight was such a big event and the media surrounded everything, looking for any bit of information, she couldn’t risk it. "Hmm . . . Tyrell, I really—"

"Stop being stubborn even when you’re this cold and just put the damn jacket on on,". He insisted, holding the jacket out again and draping it over her shoulders.

Leila hesitated, torn about what to do . But before she could decide on whether to accept his kindness or reject it, something suddenly clicked in her mind and her heart dropped.

"I must have been so stupidly nervous earlier to have forgetten my purse in the restroom. This is just so embarrassing" she mumbled inwardly as she smacked her head before getting into action.

"Oh no," She muttered and immediately turned back towards the long hall that led to the restroom.

"What’s wrong?" . Tyrell asked worriedly, his brow furrowing with concern as he held her hand to stop her from leaving.

"I—I think I left my purse in the restroom." Leila mumbled quietly, her face blushed with embarrassment and she dared not look at him and without any another word, she spun on her heel and rushed back toward the ladies’ room.

Thankfully for her, she could use that moment to regain her composure and go back to her normal self instead of acting all stupidly and she couldn’t believe his face alone could make her weak in the knees.

"No, no Leila. Grab a hold of yourself". She mumbled to herself as she patted her face and continued down the long hall, silently hoping not to meet him again, at least not this evening.

Tyrell watched her disappear down the long hall with a bemused smile and he shook his head. "Still running away, huh?". He muttered to himself.

Then, loud enough for her to hear as he followed after her, he called teasingly, " I don’t bite, you know!"

Inside the restroom, Leila immediately darted toward the cubicle she had used earlier, silently cursing her forgetfulness and everything that had transpired in the evening.

She turned around and then she found her purse resting on the small hook nearby and she immediately snatched it up with relief, searching inside if it still contains it’s earlier contents.

"Got it," She breathed , trying to calm herself down. "You can do this now Leila, he means nothing, do tbe coward". She chanted inwardly as she mustered up enough courage to leave only to bump into a solid chest again. Tyrell again. Again.

"Found it ?" . He chuckled at how shocked she looked to see him and she immediately spun away from him, feeling her earlier courage and composure fleeing away from her . "Why do you walk like a ghost". She grunted. "Walking without making any noise and scaring people isn’t proper".

"Pardon?". Tyrell exclaimed as he couldn’t make out anything from her muffled sounds .

"Nothing". She shook her head erratically.

Tyrell chuckled at her actions and casually leaned against the restroom doorframe with s smug grin as he accessed her from head to toes.

"Leave, what are you still dawdling about". She hissed, clutching her purse to her chest. "You can’t be in here!". She added again seeing as he didn’t budge at all in the slightest.

"You were gone so fast I thought you were running away from me." He shrugged nonchalantly, crossing his arms over his chest casually. "Had to make sure you were okay."

"You . ". Leila opened her mouth to protest, but before she could, footsteps sounded outside the restroom and the both of them froze in their place.

A woman’s voice and hellsechoed faintly as she approached the restroom. "I thought I heard voices in here..."

And then Tyrell’s playful grin vanished immediately and without thinking, he grabbed Leila’s wrist and yanked her into the nearest cubicle, and locked the door behind them quietly.

"Hey, what are you doing?!". Leila whispered harshly , her heart pounding from the sudden movement and she immediately ya Ked his hands off of hers.

"Shhh,". He whispered quietly in a voice only the two of them could hear, holding his slender, pale finger to his lips. "Unless you want her to catch us and then you can imagine the dramas that’ll be unfolding next" .

From outside, the woman’s voice called again, closer now as she knocked the door to the cubicle. "Hello? Is anyone in here?" .

Fate didn’t seems to be on their side as it seems the woman wanted to use the cubicle. The woman pulled the doorknob and discovered it was locked. "Why is this locked?"

Leila stiffened at the realization of what was happening. "Oh no, oh no, oh no..."

Tyrell turned to her, his eyes dancing with mischief. "Relax. Just pretend we’re—"

"Pretend we’re what?!" She whispered frantically, lost and confused on what to do, if the person outside managed to get the keys and unlock the door then they were done for.

"Busy," he whispered back, a wicked grin pulling at his lips.

Leila jaw dropped at his words. "Are you insane?! I can’t do that!"

"Anyone in there?" . The person outside knocked again frantically. "I think I should just get the keys".

Leila froze, her pulse thundering in her ears. She glanced at Tyrell in panic, but he only grinned wider. "What should I do?" . 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Cry or moan,". He whispered quietly in her ears, leaning closer.

Her eyes widened in horror and she stammered. "What? I can’t—"

"Shhh," he whispered, pinching her cheek playfully.

"Ouch, that hurts!". Leila winced involuntarily at the slight pain, and her sound came out louder than she’d intended, in a soft, startled voice.

Tyrell’s hand shot up to cover her mouth, and her muffled noise came out as a low sound that to anyone listening might have sounded...suspicious.

The woman outside audibly gasped, her hands flying to her mouth immediately. "Oh my gosh!" . She blushed as she walked away. "Young people these days are just so impossible".

Leila’s eyes widened in mortification as the footsteps retreated hastily. A second later, the restroom door clicked shut as the woman left.

Only when they were sure the coast was clear did Tyrell drop his hand from her mouth and stifle a quiet chuckle.

"You . ". She sputtered, glaring at him. "You’re impossible!"

Tyrell grinned, his shoulders shaking with laughter. "That was priceless. You should’ve seen your face."

Leila’s cheeks burned hot as she fumbled for the lock on the cubicle door. "I’m leaving."

"Wait, wait." Tyrell reached out, catching her wrist again. "Don’t run off just yet. You’re way too fun to tease."

"I’m not fun. You’re . . ." . She shook her head, too flustered to argue properly after what just happened.

Tyrell released her, laughing softly as she stormed out of the cubicle, grabbed her purse, and headed for the exit with all the dignity she could muster. But her flustered retreat only made him laugh harder.

"See you around, little rabbit". He called teasingly after her.

"Don’t call me that!" She shot back over her shoulder without taking another glance backwards, her voice high-pitched and mortifed as she addressed the way he teased her. It sounds so cringy ànd it sort of made her felt awkward and surprisingly weak at her knees. She couldn’t deny he had quite the charms that would make any woman weak in the knees no matter what he did or said.

As she disappeared through the door, Tyrell leaned against the cubicle wall, still grinning to himself. "Interesting,". He murmured under his breath. "Very interesting."

In the hallway outside, Leila pressed a hand to her chest, trying to calm her thundering heart. "Little rabbit?". She thought indignantly. Who even says that?

But despite herself, a tiny smile crept onto her lips as she hurried away.
