LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law-Chapter 88: On Board II
As they exited the theater, Yvette’s phone buzzed and upon checking the id caller, it was Leila.
"Hey,". Leila began, her tone brimming with excitement. "You’re not going to believe this. The top entertainment company in the country just sent over an offer. They want to bring you on board."
Yvette immediately froze mid-step, her breath catching as she glanced at Zeke who mouthed to her asking if everything was okay and she nodded , placing the phone on speaker as she continued. "What? Are you serious?"
"Dead serious. Starlight Entertainment is offering a full package, better roles, international exposure. This is the big leagues, Yvette. They want to poach you. What do you think?"
Yvette turned to Zeke, her eyes wide with excitement and Zeke immediately excused himself.
"Not me" . He quickly waved his hands, proving his innocence. "Eriq certainly considered you great and besides you need a good agency who could be of great help to your career now".
"So what do I do?". She asked.
Zeke didn’t hesitate. "You deserve it. This is your moment. A new company, a new start... go for it and listen you got it based on your hardwork, you deserve it."
Her grin widened, and she nodded into the phone. "Let’s do it."
Hanging up, she turned to Zeke unable to contain her excitement. "This is it. Everything’s changing and one day I hope I’ll be able to stand side by side with you."
Zeke wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "And I’ll be right here through it all."
Few days later, the contract signing of Yvette and Leila at Starlight Entertainment Industry went well and then it was the signing ceremony.
Yvette was all over the moon and as well as nervous but all thanks to Zeke who was by her side all through it and the signing ceremony was immediately set up because she’ll be off for the set of Ideal You in a few days or latest in a week, though it was rushed, everything was well prepared and not cheap at the slightest.
The grand ballroom of the five-star hotel was adorned with elegance and precision. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow over the room, their light refracting across polished gold-trimmed surfaces.
Rows of white chairs, each tied with deep crimson ribbons, faced a long table draped in black velvet.
Behind the table, a massive backdrop showcased the logos of Starlight Entertainment Industry company.
Cameras lined the back of the room, their lenses trained on the stage, where the signing ceremony was about to take place.
Yvette stood at the edge of the room, her breath slightly uneven as she adjusted the fitted blazer she wore.
It was black, sleek and professional, Zeke’s choice for today and it turned out well, paired with tailored trousers and subtle diamond earrings that gleamed when they caught the light.
"Don’t be nervous, all is going to be well". Her phone buzzed and it was a text message from Zeke, she glanced around and replied immediately.
"Of course I’m nervous, this is a huge step. What if I mess up during my speech? Or trip on stage?".
"You won’t". There came Zeke’s fast reply. "You’re going to be brilliant. You always are."
She smiled and before she could respond, a representative from the company approached. "Ms. Yvette, it’s time. Please follow me to the stage."
Eriq, decked in a customized black tuxedo took the microphone as the audience quieted.
"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and members of the press, thank you for joining us today to witness a truly momentous occasion. Today marks the official signing of Ms. Yvette Jasmin to Starlight Entertainment, one of the top talent agencies in the country. Please join me in welcoming the most honourable Ms. Yvette to the stage!"
Around of applause erupted as soon as Yvette stepped onto the stage. Her heart thudded in her chest, but she kept her smile poised and graceful
. She could feel the camera flashes as she walked to the table, where Eriq who was the company’s CEO stood waiting. As though sensing her unease, he smiled warmly and extended a warm handshake which out her mind at rest.
"Welcome to the family, Yvette". He said with a smile as he held her hand for a handshake.
"Thank you, Mr. Eriq. I’m the most honored to be here". Yvette replied, her voice steady despite her nerves.
They both took their seats at the table. In front of Yvette was the official contract, thick with legal text, and a sleek black pen.
Eriq continued, detailing her achievements, her rise to stardom, and how this collaboration marked the beginning of a promising new Chapter in her career.
As Eriq finished with his speech, Yvette leaned forward, pen poised. She could hear the faint click of cameras capturing the moment as she signed her name in elegant strokes.
The finality of the signature felt monumental, like stepping across an invisible threshold. When she set the pen down, the room erupted into applause.
"Congratulations!". Eriq said, shaking her hand once more. "We are thrilled to have you with us."
Yvette rose, turning to face the audience as Eriq gestured for her to speak. She stepped up to the microphone, her hands gripping it lightly as she did just as he’d said.
"Thank you all for being here today," She began, her voice clear and calm. "This is a dream come true for me. Joining Starlight Entertainment is not just a career move, it’s a commitment to excellence, growth, and storytelling. I am deeply grateful for the trust and support that Starlight Entertainment has shown me, and I promise to give my best to every project moving forward. To my fans, my family, and my team, thank you for believing in me."
The crowd clapped enthusiastically, a wave of warmth washing over her.
After the ceremony, Yvette and Eriq posed for photos in front of the backdrop, holding a framed copy of her signed contract.
The cameras snapped away, capturing every angle. And finally, as the formalities concluded, Yvette returned to Leila’s side. She offered her a glass of champagne from a passing waiter, she had also been contracted as a manager by Starlight Entertainment so it was a double celebration for the both of them.
"To new beginnings". She said, raising his glass.
"To new beginnings". Yvette echoed, clinking her glass against hers.
She looked around the room, the applause still ringing in her ears.
For the first time in weeks, she felt a sense of calm. The journey ahead was daunting, but she wasn’t alone.
She had her husband, her team, and now a powerful company behind her. And as the evening wore on, she let herself bask in the glow of her achievement, the future unfolding like a bright, open road.
As soon as the signing ceremony concluded, the energy in the ballroom shifted. Guests mingled, glasses of champagne clinking in celebration, but the media swarmed toward Yvette like moths to a flame.
Microphones and cameras jostled for position, their operators calling her name in an almost synchronized chorus.
"Yvette ! Over here! Just a quick word!"
"Ms. Yvette Jasmin, how does it feel to join Starlight Entertainment?"
"Any comments on your next project?"
Leila stepped instinctively closer to her, trying to protect her from the crowd and a representative from Starlight tried to guide the crowd, but Yvette raised a hand gently, signaling she was willing to speak.
"Alright," She said, her voice calm but commanding. "Just a few questions, please."
The media quieted slightly, and a reporter from a leading entertainment channel leaned forward, jostling towards her.
"Ms. Yvette, congratulations on your big signing! This is a monumental step in your career. How does it feel to officially join Starlight Entertainment, how does it feel to be signed into one of the leading horses in the entertainment industry?"
Yvette smiled, her expression poised and sincere as she answered. "Thank you. It feels incredible. Starlight Entertainment is known for its dedication to creative excellence, and I’m honored to be part of their team. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and can’t wait to collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry."
Another reporter quickly chimed in as he pushed through to the front. "Your recent movie has been a massive success, and your name is trending everywhere. How are you handling this surge in popularity?"
"It’s been overwhelming, but in the best way possible". Yvette replied, her tone sincereas she looked straight into the camera as sge answered. "I’m grateful for the support of my fans and everyone who has believed in me. At the end of the day, I focus on the work, on telling meaningful stories and growing as an artist."
"Speaking of growth," . A reporter from an online blog interjected. "Can you give us a hint about your next project? There’s a lot of buzz around your upcoming role and we wonder if something exciting is coming up soon and well . . Your new look, it tells a lot"
