Chapter 52: I Was Jealous

"That would never happen". Zeke chuckled as he helped her into the car, fixing her seat belts as he settled her in the passenger seat.

"Knox, you take Leila home safely". Yvette heard him say and looked outside. There was Knox whose presence she hadn’t noticed all along, he was standing beside another black car parked just behind Zeke’s car.

"Sure". Knox replied before turning to Leila. "Miss Leila, please".

"Goodnight Yvette". Leila waved as she hopped into the car Knox held open.

Zeke then made his way to the driver seat and this surprised Yvette. He always had a driver with him no matter where he was going, this was the first time she was seeing him driver personally.

He even had Knox followed him in another car but he told him to drop Leila off instead. This inclined her to think of something.

She glanced playfully at him. "Where are we going tonight, is there a surprise?".

"Surprise?". Zeke glanced at her with a small, cryptic smile. "And what makes you think there’s a surprise?". He asked in a teasing tone.

"You never drive personally besides you had Knox take Leila home. It’s obvious you want time alone with me and to nail it all, this is not the way home". Yvette grinned as she replied and Zeke chuckled.

"Well , you’re wrong Mrs Lorenzo".

"If I am wrong then what is right?" She raised an eyebrow in thoughts. "Then is it because of what happened earlier today, because of Blair."

"Who’s Blair?". He asked feigning ignorance but she could still notice the small frown that crept up his expression.

Yvette chuckled and clapped her hands. "Well, well, well. Blair is my friend, one of my greatest pal and aid on set. You know, he’s always by my side and always protects me also that sometimes I can’t help but wonder if we could be more than friends".

"Interesting. Tell me more". Zeke said tightening his grip on the steering wheel as his vein popped.

Yvette smiled inwardly, this man was jealous yet trying to be oblivious. "You know, earlier today he told me we could be more than friends, perhaps lover . . ."

"Lovers?". Zeke yelled as he finally lost his composure, his eyes flitting to her’s immediately. "And what did you say?".

Yvette couldn’t hold her laughter anymore as she burst into a bout of laughter and Zeke realized he had been fooled.

"Will you still deny being jealous now?".

"I’m not jealous, why should I be jealous of him?". He huffed and turned his concentration back on the road.

Yvette raised an eyebrow but didn’t argue with him any further. She glanced at the road, her curiosity growing as they drove.

The city lights blurred past the windows until they pulled into a quiet, secluded area.

When she stepped out of the car, her breath caught in her throat. They were in a lush garden, more beautiful than anything she had ever seen.

The garden was like a vision out of a dream, lush and overflowing with life. Roses bloomed in every direction, their colors a riot of reds, pinks, and whites, each one more stunning than the bouquet she had received earlier in the day.

The moon hung high above, casting a silver glow over everything, turning the leaves and petals into shimmering silhouettes.

Her eyes widened in awe and she turned to ask him where he had found such beautiful flowers, only to realize he wasn’t there.

Surprised, she stopped and looked around, but all she saw were the roses and the moonlit garden.

A small, knowing smile played on her lips as she continued walking slowly, the air cool against her skin.

For a moment, she thought back to the earlier events. Was she jealous of what had happened today? . It was so rare to see him flustered.

The thought seemed absurd now, and she could only smile at herself. As she wandered deeper into the garden, the roses brushing against her fingertips, she smiled as she whispered. "I guess I wasn’t wrong about the surprise afterall".

Then she heard the soft crunch of footsteps behind her, and before she could turn, she felt his presence beside her, his familiar warmth wrapping around her before she even turned.

"Did you like the surprise?" his voice was warm and teasing, coming from just over her shoulder.

She turned, and there he stood, holding an extraordinary bouquet of roses, far larger than the one she had gifted by Blair earlier.

The blooms were full, vibrant, and overflowing, their petals flawless under the moonlight. Each seems to radiates with a rich, vibrant color , their fragrance rich and intoxicating.

Her heart fluttered as she looked at him, his face lit by the moonlight and she blushed, apparently touched by the grand gesture.

Her cheeks flushed as she accepted the bouquet, her fingers brushing against his as she took it. "It’s so beautiful". She murmured, her eyes wide with appreciation as she caressed them.

"But... you really didn’t have to go through all this. There’s no need to be jealous". She added teasingly with a small smile as a teasing glint sparkled in her eyes, peeking up at him through her lashes trying to read his expression.

He grinned, shaking his head with mock seriousness. "Jealous? Me? Never." His tone was light, but she could see the faintest flicker of something in his eyes, betraying a touch of what he wouldn’t admit.

She chuckled, stepping closer to him and pecking him on the lips as she stood on her tippy toes. "Liar," She teased, her voice light but filled with affection.

He took her hand, guiding her down the garden path to where a table was set for two, bathed in the soft flicker of candlelight. The dinner, laid out with the utmost care, looked elegant and inviting.

The scene was like something out of a dream, the soft rustling of the leaves and the distant chirping of crickets creating a serene soundtrack to the moment.

She gasped softly, touched by the effort he had gone to.

"You really outdid yourself," she said, squeezing his hand as her lips spread in a wide grin.

They sat down and ate together, the food delicious but secondary to the company.

They laughed, whispered quietly, and shared lingering glances. Each bite was savored, each moment seemed to stretch out, allowing them to simply enjoy being in each other’s presence. It was the kind of evening that made time seem to stop, the rest of the world fading away until it was just the two of them under the stars.

After dinner, they laid down side by side on the soft grass with their hands which their head was rested upon serving as a pillow, their heads resting near each other as they gazed up at the full moon, its light bright and soft, bathing the garden in a magical glow.

The scent of roses filled the air, mixing with the warmth of their bodies pressed together.

She turned her head slightly to look at him, her voice barely more than a whisper. "You know, Blair wasn’t proposing to me or anything like that today. He was just congratulating me and the media misunderstood. There’s no reason to be jealous."

He looked at her, his eyes soft yet serious. "I already told you, I’m not jealous". He replied, though the glint in his eye betrayed him.

She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Sure, sure. You’re not jealous."

"I’m not jealous because you already belong to me. Forget about sharing you with anyone, whosoever dares to take a second glance at you will cause his own fall".

"Fine". She giggled. "I belong to you, though I know you were jealous earlier. You needed to see how Knox was staring at you and laughing quietly. I’ve never seen you so flustered and jealous, it’s like a rare show I would do anything to watch again".

"Again, you say". He chuckled, leaning in closer to her then capturing her lips in a deep slow kiss that left her gasping for breath then he withdrawed. "Fine, I admit I was jealous".

Yvette chuckled. "There we go, admitting it wasn’t that bad. Was it ?".

"It is". He grinned and leaned in again, capturing her lips once again in a passionate exchange and she reciprocated eagerly moaning as she felt his hands tracing on her skin underneath her dress, his touch was warm against her skin as he pulled her closer .

She knew what was going to happen next so she resisted. "Zeke . . . I don’t want to do it outside here . . . Let’s go home, someone . . Someone might see us". She stammered, courtesy of his actions underneath her dress.

"No one would see us". He replied as he continued. "This place belongs to us today and for the rest of tomorrow so let’s enjoy our time and not let it go to waste".

He added and what more could she say besides she was now as weak as rubber as she could feel herself melting in his embrace.
