LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law-Chapter 44: Push Her Further Into The Fire
Now, new revelations had come to light solidifying the evidence of Yvette’s past relationship with the acting CEO of Silverscreen Horizons Entertainment, Mr Lorenzo and the internet was ablaze with speculation.
" Yvette and CEO Relationship Exposed: Secret Romance for Years?"
"Scandal Deepens: Yvette and CEO’s Hidden History".
Photos of Yvette and Manuel, hand-in-hand at events, attending galas together, and intimate moments from years ago were plastered all over the web.
It was undeniable now that the two had a history that went back much further than anyone had realized.
Silverscreen Horizons Entertainment.
At his office, Manuel stared at his phone in disbelief as the headlines poured in relentlessly.
His face darkened with rage as he realized the extent of the damage. His carefully controlled public image was crumbling, and everything he had tried to keep buried had been dragged to the surface, if this continues it wouldn’t be long before everything is blown over and that he couldn’t afford. He couldn’t risk it, especially not at the critical moment where he needed to stabilize his position.
Slamming his phone down onto the desk, Manuel grabbed the edge of the table, his knuckles turning white with fury.
"How the hell did this happen?!". He thundered, sweeping his arm across the desk and sending papers, files and his coffee cup crashing to the floor.
His personal assistant rushed into the room at the sound of the commotion. "Sir, we’re trying to contain it, but the news has already spread too far. Social media is running wild, and every media outlet is covering it."
"Shut them down!" Manuel growled, pacing back and forth. "I don’t care how much it costs , just make sure to get this story off the front page."
His PA shifted nervously, glancing down at his phone. "Sir, I’ve already contacted the media outlets, but... it’s too late. The story’s out there, and with the new evidence, people are digging even deeper. With the photos from years ago and several evidences . . . I’m afraid there’s no way to bury this now."
Manuel’s eyes flashed with anger upon hearing his PA words then he lashed. "This is all Nadia’s fault. I told her not to let anything affect me, and now look at what’s happening."
He grabbed his jacket, fury radiating from him as he stormed off the office.
"I’m going to the hospital. She’s going to fix this. She has to. "
Manuel’s knuckles tightened around the steering wheel as he drove to the hospital with his thoughts racing wildly.
Everything had spiraled out of control. His past with Yvette, everything he had tried to bury was now plastered across every news outlet, every gossip blog.
He griped the steering wheel hard with determination. This matter could put his reputation in jeopardy and that he wouldn’t allow, he had to stop them from digging any further.
His phone buzzed again, and merely glancing at it he knew what it was about. More headlines. More speculation.
As he pulled into the hospital parking lot, he slammed the car door behind him, fury burning through his veins.
He stormed through the hospital corridors, his footsteps echoing against the sterile walls. When he reached her private room, he didn’t bother knocking and flung the door open, his face set in a hard, unforgiving expression.
Inside, Nadia the cause of all the chaos online lounged on the bed dressed in a silky hospital gown.
Her condition was unlike how she had exaggerated online as a tragic figure. Her face was pale but untouched by any disfigurement rather she looked almost serene, despite the whirlwind online .
When Manuel burst through the door ,she greeted him with a coy smile, sitting up in the bed with an air of innocence.
"Leave us". He commanded Mary who was sitting by her side on the bed and she immediately did as she was told, scurrying away from the scene.
"Manuel, darling". She pouted coquettishly. "You finally came to see me."
Manuel didn’t even bother responding, his eyes burning with rage as he approached her bed.
"What the hell were you thinking?". He demanded, his voice low but dangerous. "I told you not to do anything that would drag me or the company into this. And now look, everything is falling apart. Do you even realize what you’ve done?"
Nadia blinked, her expression feigning confusion. "What are you talking about? I didn’t do anything that wasn’t necessary. It was Yvette who . ."
"Don’t!". Manuel interrupted, his tone sharp. "Don’t even try to pin this on her. We both know so well that this was your idea, and now I’m the one paying for it. The media has and knows everything now, they know about our relationship, they know about the past. This could ruin me and you also." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Her smile faltered for the first time, but she quickly recovered, sitting up straighter. "You’re overreacting, Manuel. So a few old photos surfaced, so what? People will forget about it soon enough. What we need to focus on now is—"
Manuel slammed his hand down on the edge of the bed, cutting her off. "What we need to focus on is fixing this mess you created. I don’t care how, figure it out. Apologize, take back what you said about her , and we’ll find a way to clean this up ."
Her eyes widened in shock at the venom in his voice and she was taken aback for a moment. She had never seen him this angry before.
She pouted, trying to regain control of the situation. "Manuel, you’re being unreasonable. This has already gone too far. Everyone is looking into it now. Even if I apologize, we can’t undo the damage. What’s done is done."
Manuel took a step back, his expression cold.
"Then do you dare to imagine what will happen if the media digs further, it’ll only spell doom for us so you have to figure a way out of this immediately"
She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Oh, Manuel, you really think it’s that simple? We’re already too deep into this. The press is all over it. Even if I apologize, it won’t stop the investigation. People are looking into everything, there’s no escaping it now."
"So what now?. Are you planning to throw me under the bus?". Manuel asked staring at her wan face.
