Chapter 104: Secrets

Dan gestured for him to sit, then produced a bottle of fine wine and two glasses from the nearby cabinet.

"Let’s chat, then if that’s why you’re here". Dan said, pouring generously. "But don’t think I can’t see through you. You miss her, don’t you?"

Zeke took the glass, swirling the wine absently as bis face flushed with embarrassment and he immediately refuted. "I didn’t say that."

"You didn’t have to." Dan raised his glass in mock salute as he added mockingly. "To love. And to fools like you who can’t bear a few weeks apart."

"That sounds nice , well you can’t relate since you dedicate your whole life to writing script". Zeke responded curtly and smirked despite himself and took a sip of the wine.

The wine was rich and smooth, but it did little to calm the nervous energy thrumming in his veins. He wanted to play it cool, but his eyes kept darting to the door as if Yvette might walk in at any moment.

"I gladly agree, your highness. But I don’t think your life is going to be much easy any longer, you couldn’t even bear few weeks apart from her then how would you handle your rivals . . ."

"Rivals". Zeke almost choked on his wine.

"Yes. Let me cut the long story short, while familiarizing herself with the role and donning male’s clothing, Yvette had ganered a lot of lovers just on set, I wonder how it’ll be when the movie is released. "Dan concluded and then added dramatically, placing his hands on his chest as though he was in pain. "I can hear the sound of your heart shattering".

"Fans are just fans. Nothing else". Zeke replied nonchalantly.

"I hope you’ll remember this very word you said in the future". Dan grinned.

"There’s so need to". Zeke added. "As long as she has her eyes on me only".

Dan chuckled and noticed the way his sight keep flitting towards the door at any single movement. He then laughed.

"You’re hopeless". He said with a laugh. "You can’t even focus on the wine. Don’t worry; she’s still here. Room twelve, upstairs."

Zeke immediately set his glass down and stood so abruptly that Dan laughed even harder.

"No thanks, I see?". He teased as Zeke made for the door without a backward glance.

The stairs creaked under his hurried steps, but he barely noticed. His heart was pounding now, not from exertion but from anticipation. He reached room twelve and hesitated for the briefest moment before pushing the door open.

Inside, the room was dimly lit by a bedside lamp. Yvette lay on the couch, draped in a blanket, her face serene in sleep.

The sight of her hit him like a wave, a mix of relief, longing, and an ache he couldn’t quite name. Quietly, he stepped closer and knelt beside her.

Then her brow was furrowed, even in sleep, as though she were dreaming of something troubling.

Gently, he reached out and smoothed it with his thumb, his fingers lingering against her soft skin.

"Zeke..." She murmured at the touch, her voice barely audible. Her hand reached out instinctively, grasping his. "Is this a dream?"

"No, it’s not". He whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

And almost immediately, her eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, she stared at him in disbelief.

Then, all at once, she sat up, her blanket falling away.

"Zeke!". She gasped, her voice a mix of joy and reproach. "What are you doing here?"

"Shh". He said quickly, placing a finger to her lips. "You’ll wake the others up and then everything will be gone."

"I was just so surprised". She threw her arms around him anyway, burying her face in his neck. "I’ve missed you so much" She whispered.

He held her tightly, breathing her in, letting the feel of her in his arms ground him. "I’ve missed you too" . He admitted, his voice barely audible.

She pulled back just enough to look at him, her eyes shining as though she had suddenly come upon a realization. "You’re insane, you know that? Coming here like this..."

"I couldn’t stay away,I tried severally but failed and now I think it’s all worth it". He said simply.

Her lips curved into a soft smile, and before he could say anything else, she leaned in and kissed him.

It started gentle, but the weeks apart had left them both starving for more. Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, and he lost himself in her, in the way she tasted, the way she sighed against his mouth.

After a short minutes, Zeke paused to gain control of himself, he wouldn’t want her to get hurt like the other day, after a while he continued, closing her lips in a searing kiss.

"Wait" She murmured between kisses, her hands pressing lightly against his chest.

He pulled back almost immediately, concern flickering in his eyes. "What’s wrong?"

"No hickeys" She said, her cheeks flushing. "I have to be on set tomorrow, remember?"

He groaned, burying his face in her shoulder. "You’re killing me, Yvie."

She laughed softly, threading her fingers through his hair. "I mean it, Zeke."

"Fine". He grumbled, pulling back to look at her. But the mischievous glint in his eyes told her he wasn’t entirely serious.

"Don’t push your luck". She warned, though her smile betrayed her amusement.

He kissed her again, slower this time, savoring every moment. The blanket slipped to the floor, and soon their clothes followed, one piece at a time.

Her laughter faded into soft sighs, and all the longing, all the love they’d held back in their time apart, poured out in every touch, every kiss.

The first light of dawn crept through the curtains, painting the room in hues of soft pink and gold.

The air was still, save for the faint whisper of the snowflakes brushing gently against the windows.

Yvette and Zeke lay tangled together on the king-sized bed ,neither willing to break the spell of their reunion.

Her head rested peacefully on his chest, and his arm wrapped securely around her, as though shielding her from the world outside.

"You’re not going back to sleep, are you. You have a lot of work?". She asked softly, her voice thick with lingering exhaustion.

"No". Zeke breathed in response, his fingers idly brushing through her hair. "I can’t waste a moment of this. Not when it’s been so long since I held you."

She sighed, tilting her head to look up at him. "You’re impossible."

He smiled down at her, the warmth of his gaze making her heart ache. "You wouldn’t have it any other way."

Eventually, though, the morning nudged them forward and Zeke shifted reluctantly, sitting up and pulling her with him.

"I should go now else I won’t ever have the chance to again" . He said, though his voice lacked conviction , as though he was urging himself rather than her.

Yvette frowned, her hands clutching the blanket around her shoulders, not wanting him to leave. "Already?"

"If I stay longer, someone might notice," . He explained, his hand cupping her cheek. "And you’ll have questions to answer."

She sighed but nodded. "Fine. But you’re not leaving without me seeing you off."

"No". He said firmly, standing and pulling her to her feet. "It’s snowing outside, and you need your rest. I’ll leave quietly."

"But—"

He silenced her with a kiss, soft and lingering, before stepping back with a teasing smile.

"You’ll watch me from the window, won’t you?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Her lips twitched in reluctant amusement. "Fine, but only because I trust you to come back soon."

"I will". He promised, his tone soft but resolute.

They bathed and dressed together in a companionable silence, punctuated only by her occasional grumbles about how little time they’d had.

When they were ready, he pulled her into a final, lingering embrace, his chin resting atop her head.

"Stay warm always". He murmured. "And don’t work too hard."

"You’re one to talk, don’t overwork and eat at the appropriate time". She shot back, her voice muffled against his chest.

With a deep breath, he finally stepped away, his hand lingering on hers for a moment before he turned toward the door. Yvette followed him to the window, her heart twisting as she watched him step outside into the falling snow.

Meanwhile, Tyrell sat on the wooden stairs outside his room, a cigarette dangling from his lips.

The bitter cold didn’t bother him as he gazed up at the stars, their faint light battling the encroaching dawn. He exhaled a plume of smoke, watching it swirl into the frosty air, when movement at the gate caught his eye.

A figure slipped through the shadows, heading toward a sleek car parked discreetly outside.

Zeke frowned, his curiosity piqued as the car’s engine roared to life. It pulled away slowly, its tires crunching over the fresh snow.

"Strange". He muttered to himself, taking another drag from his cigarette and wondering who it was that was visiting and leaving discretely.

His eyes scanned the house instinctively, his sharp gaze catching the light spilling from an open window, Yvette’s window.

His frown deepened, but he said nothing, merely leaning back against the steps with a low chuckle.

"Guess some secrets are worth keeping". He murmured, grinding the cigarette into the ashtray and heading back to his room.
