Chapter 206: Chapter 206: The Woman He Loves is Very Smart

Stellar Group.

President Harrison.

Rory Linden now understood that the company Sean Harrison had founded in recent years was called Stellar Group.

She didn’t want to dwell on why the man had chosen that name for his company.

But this request before her...

Seeing Rory Linden’s troubled expression, Owen Coleman quickly added, "Of course, you have every right to refuse. We can just send someone else to negotiate."

Although Rory Linden had just joined the hospital, Owen Coleman already knew a great deal about her.

He knew she was a doctoral graduate from Celestria Medical University, a favored protégé of several of the hospital’s top cardiac surgeons, and the nation’s leading expert in robotic-assisted surgery.

She was adorned with all sorts of accolades.

If she were to resign over this matter, it would be a great loss for Celestria University Affiliated Hospital.

Over the past few days, Rory Linden had seen the infant’s mother every day.

She had exchanged a few words with her.

The woman told her she lived in a village.

She also expressed regret for not getting prenatal checkups, hoping for the best, and felt she had let her child down.

The child’s father worked at a construction site and only visited once a week.

The couple survived on pickled vegetables and steamed buns. Every time a doctor gave the baby an injection, the mother would kneel to express her gratitude.

Rory Linden stood before Owen Coleman’s desk, thought for a moment, and finally said, "Alright, I’ll go talk to him."

She knew very well what Sean Harrison wanted.

"You’re willing to go?" Owen Coleman hadn’t expected her to agree. "You don’t have to give me an answer right away."

"I’m willing to go."

Rory Linden’s reply was even more decisive.

Owen Coleman sighed. "Actually, I heard a few things from Keith Hawthorne about you and President Harrison. If you’re unwilling, we can always look for another company."

"If President Harrison is willing to help us, then there’s no need to look for another company."

Rory Linden wasn’t familiar with the asset rankings of domestic corporations.

But she had heard from Sherry Walsh that Sean Harrison held a very high status in the country now.

Owen Coleman sighed again. "You’re an exceptional talent at our hospital. We’re here to save lives, and logically, we shouldn’t be making this kind of deal..."

"I’m personally willing to do it."

"Then go talk to him first. No matter what conditions he proposes, you have to tell me. If they’re too unreasonable, I won’t agree to them, even if you do."

Owen Coleman’s attitude toward Rory Linden was one of pure appreciation for her talent.

He didn’t want her to be wronged for the sake of a single patient.

"Okay."

Rory Linden nodded.

Still uneasy, Owen Coleman added pointedly, "This hospital is here to save lives. We may not make a lot of money, but we won’t bow our heads when we shouldn’t."

Rory Linden was genuinely moved by Owen Coleman’s words.

She even felt a little fortunate that she had chosen Celestria University Affiliated Hospital.

The meeting was scheduled for that afternoon.

It would take place in one of the hospital’s conference rooms.

Rory Linden had a minor surgery to perform that morning.

When she came out of the operating room, a nurse informed her, "Dr. Linden, the director was just looking for you. Remember to give him a call back."

"Alright."

Rory Linden changed out of her surgical scrubs and called Owen Coleman back from her office.

It was just as she had expected.

Sean Harrison had arrived early.

On the other end of the line, Owen Coleman explained, "President Harrison has been here for an hour, but he told me not to tell you."

"Okay, I understand. Thank you."

Rory Linden hung up the phone.

As she walked out of her office, she saw the infant’s mother again.

The woman had difficulty walking, but she was pacing back and forth in the hallway, holding her baby and trying to soothe it.

When she saw Rory Linden approaching, she quickly forced a smile and greeted her, "Good afternoon, Doctor!"

Rory Linden glanced at her sallow hair and gaunt cheeks, asking, "Have you eaten?"

"I have, I have! A nurse just brought me a meal." The woman’s eyes reddened as she spoke. "You are all so kind. I don’t know how I can ever repay you..."

"It’s alright. As long as you’ve eaten."

Not wanting to delay any further, Rory Linden turned and walked toward the elevators.

Sean Harrison was waiting in the reception room of the hospital’s administrative building.

When Rory Linden arrived, she first straightened her hair and clothes before knocking lightly on the door.

The door before her opened quickly.

Sean Harrison stood just inside, dressed in a black suit with a dark tie and a tie clip.

His entire attire was very formal.

It was as if he had come to meet not a doctor, but some incredibly important corporate leader.

In contrast, Rory Linden’s attire was much more casual.

She was just wearing a simple shirt dress under her white lab coat.

"President Harrison," Rory Linden began, politely apologizing. "I’m sorry, I had a surgery. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long."

"Not long," Sean Harrison said.

Owen Coleman, who was also in the reception room, came over. "We can talk here, or we can go to the conference room."

Sean Harrison replied, "Let’s just talk here. It’s more comfortable."

One didn’t need to guess to know that a place like the conference room would be full of cold, uncomfortable chairs.

The sofas in the reception room were much more comfortable by comparison.

And for Rory Linden, who had just finished surgery, a sofa would definitely be more comfortable.

After Rory Linden sat down, she saw Sean Harrison lean over, pick up a cup from the coffee table, and pour a glass of water.

She assumed he was pouring it for himself, but to her surprise, it was for her!

"...Thank you, President Harrison." Rory Linden quickly expressed her thanks.

"There’s no need for formalities between us. I know you’re busy, so let’s get right to it." Sean Harrison stated his condition directly. "My request is simple: you must have one meal with me every week."

Rory Linden froze.

She had mentally prepared herself before coming.

She had thought Sean Harrison would make some outrageous demand.

Like asking her to be his girlfriend, or even to marry him.

After all, this was a perfect opportunity to control her. If he missed it, who knew when the next one would come.

She never would have imagined that after going to all this trouble, Sean Harrison would only make such a simple request!

Owen Coleman sat to the side.

He had been thinking along the same lines as Rory Linden.

As the hospital director, he had seen his fair share of sordid deals.

But he never expected President Harrison to propose something so simple.

Rory Linden quickly composed herself and immediately asked:

"How long is this weekly arrangement supposed to last? It can’t be for ten or twenty years, can it? What happens if I’m busy? And when you say ’have a meal,’ does it mean just a meal? What about the time and location?"

All of these points had to be clarified.

Any single omission could become a loophole for Sean Harrison to exploit.

Sean Harrison, who had been sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, couldn’t help but laugh when he heard her questions.

’He knew it. The woman he loved was smart; she would definitely ask about all these details meticulously, leaving him no loopholes to exploit.’
