Lord of The Karmic Armada-Chapter 34: Scheme of the Mad Devil (1)
Chapter 34: Scheme of the Mad Devil (1)
The Elven tribe leader cried out in utter grief and indignation to the heavens.
But no one answered. For the second time in his entire life, tears were sliding down his face and falling to the ground like shining pearls.
But the tears that fell from his cheeks could not reach the grounds beneath him, The darkness itself wrapped around Hansel as if wanting to comfort him for the indignation and loss he suffered, and every single drop of his tears that were about to touch the grounds were absorbed by the darkness, making it seem like his tears were too valuable, to be simply absorbed by the soil and would sully its favored one.
For his entire life, the one true companion of his was always this darkness, whether he was emotionless or not, whether he won or lost, whether anyone cared for him or not, this inanimate element was his only company for the longest time in his lonely and tragic life.
But this was also his bane for which he was unable to ever love his daughter like a father was supposed to love his daughter and protect her. He only felt more and more disgusted thinking how emotionless and cold he had been even when he had learned about his daughter's death as if it was something not worth mentioning or worth thinking over twice.
There was even a slight disdain and disappointment towards his daughter for dying at the hands of such a weak enemy. But that was so very wrong, the human was weak in front of him, but the same thing cannot be said for anyone else. After all, only one Pathwalker could deal with another, no matter how weak or incompetent one may be.
The more he thought, the more hatred he felt at the ever-embracing darkness around him. But he could do nothing of it and let out a hollow and mirthless laugh looking towards the sky.
Because, Just as the Darkness was his bane, It was also his salvation.
A double-edged sword that would cut him deeper and deeper, the tighter he gripped it. But there was no choice either he could only endure it since he had no other weapon.
So, he must hold onto it, even if it would bring his demise, it would also bring his salvation and freedom.
Hansel took a deep breath and let out another heavy sigh, he looked below at the human who took away not only his daughter's life but also gave her the most shameful death.
His expression contorted in fury again, thinking how greatly his daughter must have suffered in her last moments,
If only he knew how wrong he was, Elmyra did not suffer at Valtar's hand in her last moments but it was Valtar who suffered the most emotionally. A strange connection had formed between the two of them, the connection of 2 opposites belonging together and fated to be together, but it was simply not meant to be. But Valtar did not know any of it, nor could he deny his feelings for her, because the feelings were just that strong.
The only pain Elmyra felt in her last moments was immense regret and pity. Wishing only if she had met the human in different circumstances and not as enemies who must take each other's lives no matter the cost.
Hansel shook off his thoughts as sparks of grief again threatened to bloom within his heart but he forcefully dismissed it, what's the point of regretting it so much now? Regardless of outside factors, in the end, he was the greatest failure as a father to Elmyra and nothing would change that no matter what. The only thing he could do then was to plunge this human into eternal pain and take revenge on the Fae folks then escape the forest with its legacy no matter what.
The tribe leader looked at the human who had now become a mangled flesh, the human's beautiful face and powerful body were no more, one would only feel disgust and revulsion looking at the thing in front of him, but the human was very much alive, Hansel made sure of that after all.
With a murderous expression on his face, he took a heavy step forward, bent down slightly, and picked up the human holding onto his head, by now his head was the only unharmed part of his body. The human showed no reaction in the slightest, prompting him to think he was unconscious.
Then with no apparent warning, he jumped upward into a branch of a tree, then jumped again and started running from one tree to another, heading towards the tribes living area, not caring in the slightest if the human's condition would worsen or not. He was running at a moderate speed, not too fast but not too slow either. Just enough to make sure the human wouldn't die, after all in the current condition of the human, even a cat might be able to kill him.
But Hansel wasn't distressed about it, because the reason Valtar was alive still now despite his miserable state was that, he was a Pathwalker just on the same level as the Elven tribe leader. Anyone else would have died a hundred times over from the furious beatdown of Hansel. Yet the human was very much alive even though his state was not so pleasing to the eye. A testament to the great amounts of vitality Valtar had within him.
————————
Back when the Tribe leader was fighting Valtar.
Exactly when he roared to the sky like a dark and vengeful beast.
It was a gut-wrenching scream that was heard by everyone. Every single dark elf in the underground hall heard it. But compared to the ever-composed Tribe leader it was something that could not be associated with him in the lightest.
After all, to everyone, the tribe leader had always been the most emotionless but praiseworthy being. The one who was most favored by the darkness. Resulting in his emotionless state. It was a consequence everyone was aware of.
But there was one person who recognized the beastly cry, and he realized it was indeed the scream of their Tribe leader. He shuddered in fear remembering the last time it had happened. It was not because he feared that the tribe leader met with difficulty facing the humans, he had absolute confidence that their leader would come out victorious quite easily without a doubt.
But something very bad must have happened or already happened before, for the Tribe leader to break out of the seal of emotion placed upon him by the darkness.
It was naturally the first elder who was thinking these things. Fortunately, he did not show any expression on the outside, if not, the dark elves would only become more agitated, since he calmed them down just moments ago, he could not let that happen again.
Not to mention there was another thing that was worrying him, As a result of
breaking out of the emotional seal, the tribe leader's affinity and control over the darkness would weaken significantly for a few days at least.
Despite his worries, with a great deal of resolve, he managed to not show any expression or immediately rush to where the fight was taking place, so as to not cause any more unrest and irregularity. He could only grit his teeth silently and wait for the leader, he could only wait and hear everything and see for himself what had happened after the leader came back.
———————————————————-
Even though Hansel was not running at full speed, it did not take him more than 5 minutes to almost reach the living area of his people. There was no sign of any movement from the human or a single sound from him. Thankfully because of that Hansel's emotions were a bit in control for now but only a bit.
His mind wondered about the consequences of breaking away from the emotional seal or the emotional suppression from the darkness. One needed to be utterly emotionless to control the darkness to its peak. However, he did not once use his darkness ability against the human when fighting him, since there was no need for it in the first place. But he had to fight the Fae folks next, in which case he must be in his optimal condition.
That was the thing that worried him most now, despite his feelings and suffering, first and foremost Hansel was the Leader of the dark elves before anything else. So, his mind would always think of the big picture and disregard himself.
Though the emotional seal will be effective again within a few days at most, there is an obvious backlash that will not simply disappear. For a week at least he would not be able to use his darkness ability to its fullest extent even after the seal is effective again, and he would feel slightly weakened to an extent but not enough to be a hindrance.
————————————
Back in the underground hall where all the dark elves were waiting for their tribe leader and discussing this or that in a low murmur. The first elder suddenly frowned and looked into the entrance.
He did not hear anything but it was simply his instinct telling him that something was coming, there was great tension in him. However, he did not believe in any way that the human could defeat their leader. A small fear could not help but bloom in his heart, which could only be erased after seeing and talking to the leader himself in person.
Perhaps a few others also had a similar thought process to him but did not express anything.
They did not have to wait long as a dark and powerful silhouette soon entered with powerful and heavy steps.
Step.....step.......step...........step...step....
The dark figure finally entered and revealed himself. The moment everyone saw him some let out a sigh of relief, others had strange expressions on their faces and some became even more tense for some reason. Soon everyone also noticed the anomaly as the elven leader was not alone or to be precise, he had an almost unrecognizable corpse of a human in his hand, holding the body by its head, as he was dragging it with him. Even the firm and experienced First Elder sucked in a breath of cold air seeing the brutal state of the human.
First elder then looked at the face of their leader with more precision and noticed he was indeed not emotionless at the moment.
He thought to himself, 'As expected the seal of emotions broke off.'
'Just what did the human do for the Tribe leader to be so furious.'
Hansel was dragging the body of the human, and Valtar's lower body was sliding through the ground. First, he noticed everyone's perplexed and astonished gazes. He understood the reason for their apprehension naturally. But it was not the time to address them yet.
In the underground hall exactly to the opposite side of the Tribe leader's seat.
There was something similar to a large crucifix, he went closer to it, and Hansel slowly tied Valtar's hands and feet to the crucifix tightly with a rope, making sure the human couldn't try anything funny.
Though in that state it was questionable if that was even possible anymore.
Seeing this the faces of everyone changed even more, shock, confusion, anger, all these emotions bloomed on their faces.
Seeing what Hansel had done, First Elder's mind raced as he thought of a conjecture of what had happened. But just to make sure of it, he asked the tribe leader in a shaky and fearful voice,
"Tribe leader did the human...to the Princess...."
But he could not finish the sentence as the Tribe leader replied in a cold voice, "YES."
Anyone could notice his voice overflowing with fury.
At that moment the First Elder confirmed his conjecture to be the truth, an indignant sigh escaped from his lips. But the next moment countenance turned ferocious as he glared at the human tied to the crucifix with pure hatred. To engage in sexual activity with another race is one of the greatest taboos of the Dark Elf race.
And for the human to rape a female of the Dark elven tribe and not just any female but the Tribe leader's daughter herself. He felt so furious, and thought no wonder, no wonder, the seal on the leader's emotions broke as he glanced at his leader with a trace of pity.
Right then someone was about to ask what was going on.
But the First Elder immediately put his hands up signaling everyone to stop. Then looked at the tribe leader in the eyes, silently asking for permission to explain to everyone the truth.
Hansel understanding the First Elder's intent, simply nodded with great effort.
The elder did not dally anymore and began explaining,
"I know, you all seem to be confused about why the human was brought here by the Tribe leader and why he has not killed the human or taken the blood crystal out of the human."
"Yes, despite the miserable state of the human, since he is placed on the crucifix, he is naturally alive and has committed a great folly against our tribe and race. Thus placing that wretch on the crucifix."

The more he spoke, the more his voice became louder and louder.
While the first elder continued to explain the situation, there was one thing no one noticed in the slightest.
The human who now was an unrecognizable mass of flesh dripping with blood had just moved ever so slightly, his eyes had a strange glint in them, and his blood-red lips curved upward ever so slightly listening to the blabbering of these cannon fodders.
An imperceptible evil laugh escaped from his lips, something that not a single being had noticed,
"mwhhh... heh—heh—heh... heheheh... heh—heh—heh... mwhhh..."
Valtar thought to himself, "Finally, it's time to flip the entire table over."
